Metric deserves more than what they have! Their music is pretty great good amazing! live Emily turns herself into something i dont know she's amazing!
I want to support the band. Why would you not want them to go mainstream? You're being a fool. IF YOU TRULY LOVE THEIR MUSIC, why would you care if other people did or if it played on the radio? I actually would be happier. so yeah
Fuck you. Pretentious indie pricks like you are the reason why artists run out of money. You should be happy if Metric gets wide appeal. They've deserved their music to be heard by the masses for a long time now.
Why the fuck would them getting mainstream ruin it for you? I can't stand little dicks like you that are obsessed with the indie scene, and care about that more than the music. Metric needs money to continue making more and better music..and of course to just live comfortably.
Yeah, this is a great tune. But, I don't get why there was a huge change up with the tune. Look at earlier version of it. It's totally different. It's a lot more dynamic now, it's a good change. One of their best tunes. But I'm just curious to why they changed it. Hope they come out with more great stuff like this.
Lol, i remember going to this concert and having now idea what songs they were doing, including this one. The advantage of seeing them after album release i guess. :)
I was at that show, unfortunately my camera broke during Tokyo Police Club. If you have any good pics of Metric, can you possibly send me some? I eventually got right up front, second row in front of the bassist Josh. Now Im in Vancouver and could hit the show on the 23rd :)
Oh my god, im rediculously releived they went with those lyrics... woulda made me reeeal mad if i had lyrics typed by emily herself that werent even gonna be used..
At first I wasn't sure about "Here comes the sun", but now I like the new song reference. Everything Emily writes has a perspective from the cynical, and Metric has a history of alluding to dumb pop, both musically and lyrically. I think they've really perfected the structure and the tone this one. It flows so well now, compared to the 2007 versions :) I love metric. Genius!
I'm satisfied with 'Here Comes The Sun' as an alternative to "She's Come Undone". Both are a good fit, but Here Comes The Sun puts a more positive spin on the chorus when you compare the meanings of the two songs.
I was thinking the same thing too. Emily did want to make a more optimistic record.. I think people who had heard previous versions of the song were just thrown off by it.

Dumbed-down lyrics? O_o
I don't find these dumbed down at all, if anything they're just as deep, if not more so, than the other version's.
TerraTempus25 3 years ago 4
i also disagree with the term "dumbed-down".
i would say that it's just... less witty, i guess. I've always enjoyed Emily's amusingly cleaver lyrics.

Your videos seem to be the best quality ones I've found from this concert so far, kudos to you!

I really wish they kept this slower.
"like here comes the sun"
eeek...
why emily, why?

I'm completely satisfied that they chose the lyrics from the slow version and the speed of the usual version.
I LOVE METRIC. And the new album will be INSANELY GOOD.
