  • How can you make it HD when uploading it on youtube?

  • see my vid abou HD VIDEOS

  • cool video man

  • how much fps is it?

  • 240 i believe

  • i have this camera and i never knew it could do that haha

  • possibility of making a extra slow mode with this cam ??

  • are you referring to an additional slow-mo recording mode? "it doesn't have more"

or are you referring to me makin another slow-mo video? "I will eventually :)"

  • I referring me in mode recording the extra slow-motion similar at matrix movie when neo is on the bullding

  • the only other way to slwo it down anymore is using like sony vegas

  • I have This Cam BUT its killing me not always HD on youtube maybe its because of lights

  • i like the ambient music at the end & beginning where did u get it

    also nice vid!

  • Well it's been over a year since I started using it, I do think I might have used one of the Windows system sounds, and just changed it a little in audacity, thanks.

  • thats pretty awesome. Call me stupid or call it obvious... i just realised that it doesnt rec sound while in slow mo :(

  • it actually does record sound but its kind of weird the sound is offset to the video, so you'll here the ending on the clip at the begining of the 12second clip, so i mostly just turn the audio recording off in the camera on that mode. yeah its kind of sad :(

  • oh right ok, thanks for that!

You know, I'm really thinking about getting this camcorder but I noticed that there is a newer model out and this one is a little £££.

Do you think its worth it? because i specifically like the slow motion feature and i haven't seen any other cameras that have that feature!

  • Hmm I'll go have a look at it, I haven't been keeping up to date with the new cameras lately, been traveling lots.

  • i love this camera, i got one last summer. the only thing i dont like is the WIND NOISE!!!!!!!!!! it almost seems like this camera was made to record as much wind noise as possible!! *(not really, but it will suck in windy days)*

other than that, this camera ROCKS! SUPER CLEAR ON A HD TV!!

  • Buy an external mike with a zeppelin cover

  • What editing program?

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0

  • 1:56 really nice slow motion.

  • It really needs a wind filter !

  • I would assume the price difference between the SR-10 & SR-11 is that because the SR-11 and SR-12 can do full 1920x1080i.

Although Interlaced, I can tell you even on a massive TV it looks crystal.

From what I remembered, the SR-10 can only do 1920 x 1440 & Doesn't use the newest CMOS chip. (From what I remember so could be a little off.

Basically, if you can wait off a bit I would get the SR-11.

I did a pure. MTS file straight from the cam to PC.

Its in the left corner, the first video.zNewst

  • Whoops, i meant you have to click on Tramadol200mg in blue first & the vid is called

NEWEST IN PURE HD -Sony HDR-SR11 High Quality Test (HD FS 1920 x 1080)

Recently YouTube finally allowed uploads of raw files. although it could still & probably does add its own compression, the video quality via the internet has significantly improved.

10 more years & we will have new codecs..ect..it will be possible to bandwith 10Gb in a minute. At least I think so.

  • The prices are lowering, but at the time the price was too different. Oh, and the SR-10 has Full HD 1920x1080i recording too.The CMOS chip is one of the newest on the SR-10, only a slightly lighter version. But I have to agree with you, if you want to make little movies at home, then the SR-12 might be better thanks to each of it's in-puts.

  • Comment removed

  • So yeh,,The CMOS chip i was referring to is sligtly poorer but not by much -

SR-10 - The Sony HDR-SR10 is the baby model of the three and has a 40GB hard drive. It features a 4 megapixel, 1/5″ CMOS sensor, 15x optical zoom, and a 2.7″ widescreen LCD.

SR-11 - The next model up, the Sony HDR-SR11, features a new, rather large 5.7 megapixel, 1/3.15″ CMOS sensor.

  • Sorry. You're right, it can shoot at 1920 by 1080i As for CMOS -SR - 10 - It features a 4 megapixel, 1/5″ CMOS sensor, 15x optical zoom, and a 2.7″ widescreen LCD. 40Gb.

SR-11 - features a new, rather large 5.7 megapixel, 10.2 megapixel for photos, 1/3.15″ CMOS sensor. Accordingly, the optical zoom decreases to 12x, but the LCD screen size increases to 3.2″ with a whopping 921k resolution. 60Gb

  • Yeah. Oh and I'm the same guy as TomProductionz (one account is for gaming and one for real things). Yes, the SR-10 is the "baby version", and therefore I recommend it for beginners, but indeed for more professional use the SR-11 and SR-12 are better.

  • Hi. I subscribed.

Can you pls tell me what software you used to add the test like "Loading..." ect?

    Thanks

  • Oh ya no problem. I use Adobe Premier Elements 7, version 4 works but 7 has support for the AVCHD format. I use the text feature to make "loading" a fade in/out text, then on a separate layer I made the dots "......." and just dragged one of the text effects to it to make them bounce. if ya need anymore info let me know.

  • nice. thnx:]

  • Best option out of all that you wrote above is the - HDSR-11.

Same as the SR-12 just 60gb HD not a 120 and holds a tad more HD features then the SR-10.

Check out some of my high resolution videos if you like.

  • sony hdr sr12-e

    is the best 100%

  • thanks for the help i found a sony HDR-sr12 for 550 brand new online

  • ?! where?!

  • yeah, where, was it from a reputable place??

    thanks

  • where?

  • awsome!

  • ok lol, thats cool ^^

  • Sweet, I didn't even realize the camera had this feature when I got it (today). Going to have some fun with that...

  • slow mo isnt cool unless you have a good 1000fps

  • do you have to get a converter for this cameras format to work in windows movie maker?

  • mine did come with software to convert it to regular wmv or mpeg.

  • thanks that helps me decide which camcorder i am going to buy.

  • wow

  • nice

  • nice vid, i have sony sr10, but only now ive realised that i have this function, 10x

  • you can record for 12seconds inj slowmotion with the hdr sr12

    i have the same camera.

    works awesome!

  • Wrong. Its 3 seconds in real time. 12 seconds when slowed down. I have the same camera.

  • yup it records for 3 real time seconds then when you playback the clip its 12 seconds long.

  • you know what you should do is pop a ballon again slo motion and slow it done more on your editing system. now that would be sick

  • I own the same camera. Is there anyway to record longer that what appears to be 0:10 seconds of slow motion?

  • how much does it costs? it looks great! 5/5

  • Depending on where you get it its about $1400.00 for the top model, with the large hard drive disc. Keep an eye out for sales and specials.

  • is that the slowest it can go..just wondering?

  • Yup theres no other speed modes just resolution and focasing stuff.

  • still thats amazing!

  • yay 12,100th view and awsome camera i want one

  • WOW, thats alot. Sony HDR-SR12. Of all my videos I never would have thought this one would be the most viewed. 12,106 at this comment.

  • Why is there "loading" screens despite being a video?

  • Umm because Imade that little part myself and thought it looks neat.

  • hey man great Vid! what software did you use for this?

  • I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements 4.

  • EI... great Video Man! i was just wondering.... i'm planning to buy a HDR SR11... is it compatible with a Macbook? will i be able to edit some clips there?

i'll be waiting and thanks man! ;-)

  • I'm not completly sure if the software is but I don't see why the camera couldn't transfer files from the hdd to the mem stick then to the mac. If you get it in a big store like futureshop or bestbuy, ask them if you can use it on your mac, the camera and the software. Best of luck.

  • Question for Jeff, can u record at normal speed n then switch to slo-mo without stopping it? Or like go from slow to fast?

  • Sorry nope. you have to stop recording then switch modes, except for taking photos, you can still take photos while recording vid.

  • I wish it had a lens hood & most importantly, a focus RING. It should also have more than just 16mbps on recording 1920x1080i. Can this camera record in 720p, or any sort of progressive mode?!

  • It has lower resolution recording modes, but I don't know If they change from interlaced to progressive, its fine for me, I don't even have an HD tv yet, just my pc screen.

  • Well one things for sure, it's not progressive for 1920x1080.

  • get teh canon vixia hf 10, its got great progressive mode

  • and a small optical zoom tinny hdd and fewer features for a lot more money.

  • i like the LOADING....

    effect you threw in there

  • I LOVE my HDR-SR12.....only problem is my Pinnacle Video editor is soo damn slow and it's the newest one!

Thanks for the video! I gotta try it now!

  • Can't you continually record in slow mode, or do you have to keep doing this 3 second mode thing ?

  • You would need a Terabyte hard drive to record in slo-mo continually in HD. No you can only get a 3 second clip 'turns into 12 seconds' ether after or before you press the record button.

  • Why is there no sound in slow motion ?

    JeffreyQuadra

  • I turned off the sound in the slo-mo settings becuase the sound has a 3-5 second delay with the video.

  • i will save save up for one, there only £500

  • are they?...waow...me too. i was gona get the SONY HDR-SR10

  • How is the quality when it is filming normal? I am conserdering getting this camera. It looks very good. Please give me a good discription. Thankyou.

  • The SR12 has 4 rec modes which can be used in both regular/slo-mo videos and photos. HD-FH..16megapixels, HD-HQ..9megapixels, HD-SP..7megapixels, HD-LP..5megapixels. I do watch the videos in HD on my PC and the image quality is very impressive. You will have to get a video editting program that supports AVCHD video, or you will only be able to convert them into a wmv or mpeg at 640x480 resolution. Does that answer your question?

  • Yes it does thankyou!

  • its not 16 megapixels its 16 megabits, which is the codec bandwidth

  • Also..when i switch to slo-mo rec the quality of the image suddenly drops noticeably,is that standard?

  • The image quality 'resolution' is the same, but the picture brightness, contrast, does drop a significant amount, most likely do to the high amount of frames the camera is taking in it can not quite get the full image 'quality' that quickly. It does help for taking slo-mo vids of lightning, the bolts are not as blinding as in regular mode, and other very bright items.

  • is it true you can only record like 3 minutes of action? And if so,can you record 3 min then normal then 3 minutes again, without a cut inbetween?

  • You can record a 3sec clip in speed mode then the camera turns it into a 12sec clip. once you press the record buttion in speed mode you'll have to wait about 15sec before you can record again because it is doing a ton of work at the moment. But if you are in normal mode you can record in full HD for 14 hours, and 48 hours in low quality with the SR12 120GB HDD. You can not record both modes at the same time, you'll have to stop recording on one mode then switch modes to record the other.

  • Nice... I'm going to get this camera!

  • excuse me but what resolution are these clips?

  • I was recording them in HD[HQ] 1440x1080-9 Magapixels. But my internet speed is very low here, so when I edited them I set them to a lower 640x480.

  • That's cool. The thing with the water balloon is awesome.
