  • He won, and respect to that. But i still want the shirtless guy's workout routine. :-p

  • Wtf is this?

  • yea that guy was too beefhead... couldnt focus on his tech,

  • @melissaissleepy he should've spent a little more time on the mats and a little less time doing curls lol.

  • Both pretty equally in strength mate but that was a good move in the end.

  • they looked to be pretty equally sized to me.....

  • lol are they're having sex? =_= cuz I see like about 30 second chance for that baldy to poke the guy in black's eyes and chances for other moves =_=

  • @AtoZ91191 its submission-grappling. no strikes...

training for submission-grappling is by far the most grueling and physically demanding martial arts training...

not to start a martial arts debate.. I'm sure others have varying opinions... just in my opinion it is... I have trained in kung fu, karate, muay thai, and BJJ.. as well as wrestling and MMA... BJJ is intense training.

  • I don't under stand why the dude held guard the entire time? Imo, the ref should have stood them up way earlier than he did. However, nice leg triangle.

  • Makes the mistake of trying to underhook pass with one arm whilst having the other inside. Triangle everytime! Both arms on an underhook pass or nothing.

  • It's obvious the shirtless is going full force and wasting energy while his opponent is taking it easy and defending...and his finisher was smooth!

  • Never let your opponent have wrist control. Strive to always win the wrist control or grip battle and you'd find yourself in less trouble when you're in someone's guard.

  • Both is very important. Because if you don't have any strength, you can't lift him up, or punch/kick hard. And if you don't have a good technique, you don't know how to take your opponent down, and the opponent will kick your ass easy... So if you have good strength and good techniques, noone can take you down. To say it easy, you're a BEAST!

  • White trunks had multiple oppurtunities for an ancle lock.

  • shirtless needs to learn some techniques to pass guard...

  • @p2rider426 YES he does...he needs to break that damn guard. problem is a lot of fighters wait for clues from their corner. i hate that mess...if we can't think for ourselves as players...WTF?

    ...other athletes just PLAY.

  • wtf they r both strong? they have weight classes for a reason

  • looks ike they're having sex to me

  • @klapchek Because people like would get choked out in 5 seconds by these guys.

  • more like upper body strength vs. lower body strength. ha

  • I am still waiting to see technique.

  • guard pulling makes submission grappling really gay and pointless

  • @darklord220 lolwut

  • @Audiofalcon7 The act of guard pulling bestows the quality of gayness and pointlessness on the category known as 'submission grappling'. Better?

  • @darklord220 So, you're mad that you get submitted in a few seconds or something and get left unconscious? How is submission grappling "pointless"?

  • @Audiofalcon7 I don't get submitted in a few seconds. People who pull guard in tournaments doesn't count as a takedown for the other guy, its silly.

  • @darklord220 *people pull guard in tournaments and it doesn't

  • 3:06 wtf?

  • lame

  • So basically you flop guard and pray you get lucky??

  • their stand up sucks.

  • nice, i bet the guy in the grey shorts was tired out by the end of that

  • wow, nice

  • boring

  • didn't see any technique. No attempts to sub. just holding on for dear life. he lucked into a triangle while the guy was trying to pass his guard. He was friggin showing him straight arms the whole time, he should've broke em off early in the match.

  • wheres the technique? the very end?

  • usually technique would win, and its nice to have strength, and strength wins too, if they get the first punch/knockdown (if u know what i mean). but to have strtength+technique then ur gonna be chick norris :P

  • strong guy against technique always looses in guard .. mainly because all they do is stall in the guard !

STRONG GUYS CMON !!! STOP PUSHING AND PULLING AND TRY TO PASS!!

  • the guy with his shirt of obviously has less technique and more strength, but this is not to say that strength + technique isn't best... watch UFC...

  • Stopped it at 0:18 he just lost a real fight right there.

  • Technique? you jumped guard and missed

  • The more you train the luckier you get

  • shits weak. work on your guard. you just kept opening and closing your legs. get the hips moving and actually attempt a sub. snoozefest.

  • In grappling need more technique than power, but in mma need more power

  • which one is the "strength" of the battle?

  • The most important question is, Who is still training?????

  • They really seem pretty much in the same weight class, same height and both just as strong....

  • @mrkiky Yes, i agree they are the same height, and they both do look like they weigh the same, but the bigger amount larger muscles of the bodybuilder's body makes him both heavier and stronger. (Remember muscle is twice the weight of fat.)

  • @CDABXXX ok, it looks like he has bigger arms, can't really tell really well as the other guy is wearing a shirt, but he's not that much bigger. Fred also doesn't look like he has a lot more fat than the other guy. And if the other guy is a bodybuilder , you know they mostly train for size and definition not for strength.

  • How about both is important?

  • look both useless imo

  • I'm not sure what this video title is implying because the guy in the black shirt doesn't exactly look weak.

  • wheres the technique? after 5 mins he gets lucky

  • im sorry but.. who is the strong guy, and who is the other?

  • @Sjuskebabb ya, sience when is locking guard for 5 minuts technique?

  • @Sjuskebabb I believe the shaved guy is considered the strong one because he looks like a thug and the other guy is considered the technical guy because he pulls guard and wears that Marcelo Garcia rashguard.

  • @Sjuskebabb half naked body is the strong guy :P

  • Technique is most important but you still wont beat a gorilla.

  • @Killerspider762 I agree! That's why is say fuck it, why not have both? Train to be as strong as an ape and train the techniques. I see too many people not concerned with strength and conditioning and just technique, or the other way around

  • I would say being weak is a disadvantage, but not being "strong" as in using brute strength, that's never gonna win. But it's important to be in a good state of health, not just in fighting, but in normal everyday life. But when it comes to fighting, being super strong and cut looking never really got anyone anything except they looked good while they lost haha

Be in a good state of health, do strength training and conditioning, but it's not a body building contest, ya know.

  • @GuamKomudo I agree with you bro, sometimes some of the strongest guys didn't like they were, but being explosive and athletic which consists of power, agility, speed, and yes strength does help people execute techniques better

  • I would agree with you, but still, my point is Jujitsu is gonna own anyone who doesn't know it, no matter how strong they are. Weather you're a body builder or not, I'll get on your back and choke you to death lol But I'm also not weak, I train, just not a body builder. Body building is for looks, but yeah, you gotta be at least not weak to be good at fighting, or any sport =D

  • @np494609 no doubt, i'd rather have explosive strength than bodybuilding strength because that goes better with jiu jitsu.

  • @Killerspider762 mata leao

  • @Killerspider762 actually technique would beat a gorilla cuz i would just run my ass outta there! that would be my technique

  • @Killerspider762 Says who? I'll just throw bananas at it.

  • @Manny1222 HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • @Killerspider762 Tell that to Jeff Glover and Marcelo Garcia

  • @Killerspider762

yes you will... unless the gorilla is technical too

  • @Killerspider762 but what if you are both ...lol

  • Which one is the Technique and which one the strength?

  • lame no agility in this they just sitting on each other

  • Great matchup. The guy was definitely much stronger than the winner or maybe he just didn't show it much; as the other guy just exhausted all of his energy.

  • great vid. The move to the lock was great. He knew he was going to do it, dropped his left leg and let go of the right arm. Boom, locked up and over.

  • Stick legs

  • idiot vs retard fight

  • ITS PAT COOLIGAN!!!!

  • Niice..

  • let me correct you be strong because strength can help technique but all strength vs technique technique always wins check out video mr.utah gets armbbared

  • 黒い人かっこいいー

  • HAVE BOTH AND YOU CAN BE UNBEATABLE

  • @kc28 Nice!

  • there both so small i couldnt tell who was strength!

  • @MarcRockCity do you have an email or something we can converse privately through...if you are truly training at a Gracie academy I would like to have a meeting of minds

  • @captncalamity What exactly would you like to talk about? And I do indeed train at Renzo Gracie NYC.

  • Im not bragging or anyhting just speaking from expierience. I was at my first BJJ class and at the end of it me and my good friend whos 20 lbs lighter than me but 2 years older, (im 18) and he has a year and a half of expierience, i have 0. I only worked out at the gym, (full body lifts and cardio no bodybuilding) and wanted to try somthing new. My buddy almost got me in 3 different submissions, but my strength saved my ass and in the end i had him flattened out and I got the choke.

  • LoL...

Guy with shirt didnt heard about rubber guard...

    Boring fight...

@03:08 "strogest" guy had opportunity for foot-lock

    His just stupid anyways...

  • I'm no expert but am I right in guessing that the point of the title is:

That the top guy, trapped in that guard, forgot the the technique which says 'both arms in or out but never one arm left in'?

I don't doubt the strength or fitness of both these competitors.

  • I don't think the title is right, if it's strength vs Technique I saw no real strength there, I didn't see the guy even try to lift the other guy off the ground or anything, I would say this is Skill vs very little if any skill

  • in order to be a great fighter and not a good one, you have to have both not just one i can have the best technique in the world but if i cant even lift the guy, whats the point? same for strength

  • Wow.... 4 minutes with wrist and head control and no submission? He's got such awesome technique.

  • but in mma.,no one knows.

  • this is sub wrestling right ???

  • whats the weight class?

  • @ahole831 welterweight i guess

  • @Waterman117 I totally agree. But a young fighter who has spent time to get his technique to a high level, and at the same time worked on being strong and conditioned, will beat an older weaker fighter who has comparable skill. At the same time, that older weaker fighter will probably beat a really strong fighter who has no skill or experience. It's just how it works.

  • simple mistake.i do bjj and kno how ppl set up moves.u will notice that the bottom guy was hunting for that triangle the whole match.he was always trying to control the top guys wrist and all he did was use the classic "push n pull" reaction to get the sub.he saw guy on top liked to pull his wrist far back with power to free it everytime he held it,so when top guy yanked it free this gave him a small window of opportunity to throw his legs up n get the triangle.but he had 2 act fast and he did.

  • @Waterman117 This video doesn't "prove" anything. We don't know the variables involved. for all we know both guys could have similar strength levels. But i do agree with you that technique should come first, and muscling techniques can slow your progress. I've tapped out guys bigger and stronger than me and have gotten schooled by guys half my size. I'm just saying if the skill levels are similar, then the stronger individual will have a slight advantage. But i agree skill beats strength =D

  • @Waterman117

If you are twice as strong as your opponent, then you are working half as hard as him to exert the same force.

If you think that working at 50% while the other guy is at 100% means you get tired first, then you probably aren't stronger than anyone you've had to wrestle before....

  • @ibasicallytotalyrule The idea in Jiu jitsu is not to pit strength against strength, but leverage against your opponent, which is to say never fight against him where you are at a disadvantage. For instance, the arm bar isn't an arm wrestling match, you use your stronger muscles (legs, hips, back, arms) against his isolated relatively weaker joint/muscle and however strong he is, you overcome strength with greater leverage and technique. Having said that, it never hurts to be stronger.

  • @MarcRockCity

Holy shit, you use your hips in an arm bar?!

Fuck, I'd be lost without you here, bro.

  • @MarcRockCity no man judo is to not use force vs force, but jiu jitsu is and judo's from jiu jitsu.it was designed by a jiu jitsu master and he took away superior strength throws and make opposite.and judo crushed jj with 2 tighs and the rest wins.(judo)

  • @942doc1 I think you're a bit confused.

"To control and overcome greater size, strength and aggression with lesser size and strength is the keynote of the sport. This is done by utilizing superior leverage, grip and position upon your opponent. Students of the sport gain a deep understanding of the workings and limits of the human body." -John Danaher, one of my instructors at Renzo Gracie NY

  • @942doc1 This is a submission wrestling competition, a sport strongly influenced by Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which was developed by students of judoka Mitsuyo Maeda, Jigoro Kano's student. Jigoro Kano developed Judo from (Japanese) Jujitsu by removing striking and disfiguring techniques that were difficult to practice full force.

  • looks like they both have technique to me. and they both look pretty strong...

  • the guy who won was strong anyway

  • Technique can win a wrestling match, so therefore make sure you avoid getting strong!

  • @ibasicallytotalyrule or have both?

  • @ibasicallytotalyrule yeah i never understood that. It's like yeah, technique is super important, but how does strength hurt?

  • @ibasicallytotalyrule therefore your an idiot for ruling out either of them.

  • @ibasicallytotalyrule this is definitely not wrestling are you an idiot?

  • @ibasicallytotalyrule LOL nice one, people are so dumb they still ignore strength training. Technique + Strength > Technique

  • @dannielpreto

Most dumbest thing is to think that strength and technique are even comparable subjects.

  • @ibasicallytotalyrule combined technique with skill my friend and that's even more dangerous!

  • @ibasicallytotalyrule strength can be accompanied with technique :)

  • @ibasicallytotalyrule why would you avoid getting strong ? thats retarted

  • @mmaman88 exactly.........

  • @ibasicallytotalyrule you dont make sense

  • Very Good, but brick dont hit back!!

  • nice

  • without punching thats just weird

  • if they allow punching and kicking strenght would probably win. but if the other guy knows how to puch and kick and jiujitsu he would probably win

  • why is this titled strength vs technique? their both the same size.

  • 4:50 is when the technique comes in. Great job.

  • wow, i practice a stand up fighting sport and never could find the interest for grappling but this was just beautiful. I have to incorporate this, this seems to be just as interesting as stand-up battle

  • @albmyslim

A grappler would you kill in a fight.

  • how about actually trying to pass his guard?

  • @tamasandy dude its just not that easy the only times i can seem to pass guard is when the other guy makes a mistake then i xplode...

  • @mmafreak11 - i don't know if you're the guys in the vid, but you need to realize that it's also not that difficult. you're gonna want to learn how to pass guard, because if you're always gonna have to wait for a guy to make a mistake, then you'll never progress. especially when you start rollin with more advanced guys.

  • @tamasandy i bet you cant pass my guard bitch.

  • @mmafreak11 - ok... tough guy...

so, i give you constructive criticism, and you talk shit?

you willing to back it up?

  • @tamasandy i will back it up all day why you gonna jump through the computer and into my guard loldz!?

  • @mmafreak11 - "loldz"? what the hell is that? you really sound like an "mmafreak". i hope i didn't get in to it with a teenage girl...

i live in utah. if you do too, we can meet up and settle this like men. i'm willing to bet 10 grand that you can't hold me in your guard for a whole 5 minute round... if you don't live here and you accept, i'll fly out to you, pass your guard, and take your money.

    your move... bitch.

  • @tamasandy tough man and hell no i dont live in fucking utah im in atlanta. listen ya pussy you can fly out here and we can grapple and see who wins for 5 gs and im not fucking kiddin around... (770-875-7610) names tyler call me about this im 22 and have been taking jiu jitsu since i was 15 ive wrestled my whole life and have gotten 4th in state 5 years ago dont disrespect me with your weak game... "your move" fuck you doucher

  • @mmafreak11 - what happened to, "i bet you cant pass my guard bitch." and " i will back it up all day."? now it's grappling? i understand why you wouldn't think you can hold anyone in your guard for a whole round... cause you can't. either way you're on... i say no time limit, got til sub.

gimmie some time to figure out when i can come out and i'll let you know when.

haha. 4th in state, huh? wow! i guess you're ready for the ufc.

i'm a 300 lb Samoan... consider your guard fucked!

  • @tamasandy im around 220 13% body fat so this will be a heavyweight match no big deal ima take you to the mat and make you never want to get back on one youre a fat joke bring it (770-875-7610)

  • @mmafreak11 im sorry but you guys are both lops. argueing over the internet is pointless, no matter who wins you both look stupid, im sorry but go cool off and get over it the both of ya

  • @tamasandy Can you please record the fight between you and MMAFREAK11? I really want to see how it goes!

  • @markfox100 well it's just gonna be a grappling match, but i'd be more than willing to make it a fight...

    we'll record it though.

  • @tamasandy Hey bro how are ya man. Seems theres always shit talk lol! truth is ive been teaching mma and ju-jitsu for 3 years. Man and being the only coach at my gym i can tell you from experiance that size doesnt matter. I trained a kid for a year that was 6'6 365lbs. And my guard side mount were never in jeapardy. Technique mixed with great strength is a great combo. Did i mention im 5'7 170lbs.

  • @MultiBuddy1234 i'm doin good, thanks. great comment by the way. i couldn't agree more. i'd be a fool to think i can muscle my way to a win every time. i've been training for a while now and rest assured, i'm not all size and strength. technique is always the most important thing. that's actually what started this whole shit talking. all i did was try and give some constructive criticism.

  • its a little sad that so many people find it so difficult to realize that mma and submission grappling are two different disciplines

  • @niekon2600 wtf the guy on bottom had perfect wrist control and a very nice closed guard not to forget the triangle

  • Respond to this video... wrong one sorry lool

  • Respond to this video... to thegilzam

  • oama student?

  • Boob Grab at 1:54

  • yeah, but if "the bald one" was allowed to punch, then the high technique one would have been done long ago.

  • @bassreeves1965 agreed, he definatly shouldn't be doing grappling look at him,

    built for MMA

  • @bassreeves1965 theres technique to punching to why defend punches when there illegal.

  • its not bad he could of done better yes... he could of went with a sit up sweep and mounted.... but the bald guy never tried to break out of that guys guard... i mean i have seen better but it was still decent the guy waited and then finally the bald one screwed up...

  • This is called counter-fighting. Wait for the guy who is pushing the fight to make a mistake.

  • they were both just so shit

  • Where is the strength? Where is the technique??

  • @GoodNamesUnavailable yea... not gonna lie i saw no technique from either fighter

  • it looks like the guy in the back makes the skinhead guy cry over his shoulders

  • gay

  • The guy with the shirt had zero guard game. He wasted a lot of energy pulling the bald guy towards him. This is ok in an MMA match to avoid punches but in a Jiu Jitsu match, it's crap! No technique whatsoever.

  • @ncarsicruz im 14 and i did bjj and my teacher told me to never stay in a postion longer than 10 secs at the max, even resting postions. i rolled with like 24 yr olds so i always lost but a fair match i did alright haha. but yeah ur comment was true

  • grace succs dicc gracie succs gracie succs dicc

  • i wanna see crazy vs technique

  • Comment removed

  • @haybox123 technique wons

  • The bald headed guy doesn't look white to me.

  • notdatkindacoke <---- the last word in his name is coke. That pretty much says enough for me to totally forget that statement.

Now, I have to say... There is something very fruity looking about thing style of fighting.
