  • I was working on an instrumental guitar track right now and planning to name it Teotihuacan. Sucks that a song already exists called that. Guess I will go with name b: Aztec Fire Song.

  • @vaibanez17 You can title a song with the same title as another one as long as its not the same song claimed as your own. Call it Teotihuacan if you like, its actually (as you know) the name of an ancient Aztec city so really its open for general use.

  • a música mais saudosista do MEU mundo

  • Love this song.

  • and Noel made this...OMG! this is so...awesome and i am speachless!

  • aka what a life

  • Sounds very similar to Keep What You Got, the track him and Ian Brown together :)

  • Faaaaantastic. Does anyone else hear "Purple Haze" in this?

  • I want The X-Files back! ;(

  • @lallilly84 MEEEE TOOOOOO!!!!

  • Was this actually made by Noel ?

  • @MartinArgg yes , noels done a lot of stuff behind the scenes. he also remixed and mastered Becks "Devils Haircut" around the same time as this.

  • I think of Scully and Mulder when I hear this song.

  • Noel loves México♥

  • isnt teotihuacan an an old civilization from like 800 yrs ago?

  • @oneloveninja Yes, Teotihuacan was an ancient civilazation in Mexico from III century AD aproximately. The word means "The city of gods" or "the place where the gods were made". Something like that.

  • @oneloveninja YEP THATS THE POINT..IT'S SO A STORY WITH IN A STORY...X FILES..

  • @oneloveninja not and old civilization, is the name of the place in Mexico where a civilization was living but nobody knows the name of the people, the name was given by the mexicas when they found the rest of the city and this one was without people, the word "teotihuacan" is nahuatl, teotl is god and acan/acatl is place, i'm not sure of the word for the verb "Make"/"Do" but the mean is "The city of gods" :) I hope it answer your question, sorry for my bad english xD

  • Chumley: "AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

  • Holly Shit love this tune, the bass was so epic when heard on my home-theater on DVD.

  • This is possibly my most favourite track ever on a soundtrack. Brings back happy memories of '98

  • Nice specially whe n U are driving a car in a rainy night:D

  • @Obrotuwa1983

    love your comment

  • Resident Evil

  • @MarkAntro here's what you said -- excuse me??!! you do realise that noel wrote the track for ian brown, then performed on the track don't you???

that is the statement that got this all started. it was not "us saying pretty much the same thing", it was you trying to be a big shot and correct me when you yourself were completely wrong. the track was never written for ian, fact is it wasnt even written in the same decade as "keep what you got". your interview only backs me up.

  • @MarkAntro HAHAH. I love people who are stupid and think that they know things. The fact that Noel gave Ian the song does not mean it was written for him. It WASNT. It was written a long time before 2004, child. Noel just couldn't put it to words, so it went on the X-Files soundtrack. Noel isn't in the business of writing songs for other people. However, Ian remembered the tune, liked it, and nicked it in 2004 for his album. Noel said 'alright, go ahead'. Read "beano090593"'s post. He is right.

  • @MarkAntro no, i just enjoy shouting people down and cursing at them. especially when they're wrong. you aren't helping me out, youre just being dumb. and i dont have to google it to know that.

  • what can't noel do anyway if he wants it?

  • @MarkAntro no, and that doesnt even make sense. why WOULDNT he "perform" on a track he wrote? he wrote it on a piano, and then recorded it. and then it went on the x-files soundtrack. many years later, he gave it to ian or ian ripped it off with noels blessing. either way, who gives a flying shit?

  • I remember jamming out to this tune on my first sony walkman. I would play every night before bed and just let the music burn right through the bad days.

  • is it me or does it slightly sound like jimmi hendrix purple haze at the beginning

  • @MarkAntro that smarmy bastard ripped it off, sure enough...smart of him to do it before anyone else, and it still took king monkey some years! lol. good on ian. great track

  • @Heis109 Actually, Noel said he tried to add some vocals to it, but nothing was working for him, so he sent it to his good friend Mr. Ian Brown to use, and the result was Keep What Ya Got

  • Such was Noel's impressions to pyramids and the mexican culture in his visit to Aztec country in 1998, that he composed this song dedicating to Mèxico and specially to his mexican fans.

Also, Noel Gallagher thinks was MEXICAN in his past life, said by he same, by Serge Pizzorno and by his tequilas. Hahaha!

    Greetings.

  • @digitalxn3 Haha, it what way?

  • @senSedative112 you're username brotha =)

  • Cool music.

  • Soy fan de the x files, de toda la vida, y de oasis igual... lo gracioso, es que hace años, compré este album sin saber que Noel participaba en el... obviamente aluciné después... Simplemente el album me encantó y esta rola, obvio, más =)

  • @4FuckTheSystem I believe he took the name of Teotihuacan because its such cool place. Teotihuacan was the largest city in the pre-Columbian Americas covering eleven and a half square miles. Built aprox 200 BCE and fell aprox 7th or 8th century BCE, Teotihuacan was a thriving multicultural metropolis with a population of 250,000. The builders of the city are often speculated by archaeologists to be the Toltecs. The city's largest structures are the Pyramid Of The Sun and The Pyramid Of The Moon.

  • ...? Teotihuacan is placed here in México. Why did he took this name?

  • @4FuckTheSystem: They were asked to compose this music for the soundtrack without having seen the movie. They were asked to do their interpretation of the mysterious. So maybe this is why they chose this city. Because it represents a very fascinating and mystic place.

  • @4FuckTheSystem Tengo entendido, que años antes, noel visitó teotihuacan, en una de sus giras con oasis, quedó tan maravillado y asombrado, que escribió esta rola.

  • Anyone have an MP3 of this they could send me? Can't find this anywhere to buy online.

  • @explodingtacoinc they have it on iTunes. just search 'teotihuacan' its the first one but its not by Noel Gallagher, Its by Anthony Anderson Orchestra

  • @kazekitty I don't like iTunes. Do you know any other music downloading services that have it?

  • @explodingtacoinc no, sorry, but I hope you do find it though

  • @kazekitty I downloaded iTunes and was disappointed to find that the version on iTunes that you recommended is slower and sounds a lot different.

  • @explodingtacoinc i didn't recommend it, i just said that they have it on iTunes, which version did you download? I have v. 11

  • The keyboards at the start are also used at the end of Keep What Ya Got

  • still love this song after so long

  • X files re-opened. stop. please advise.stop

  • Great song, didnt find out til recently the title of it. And was even more surprised to find out it was Noel Gallagher. Its a very relaxing ,tranquil tune. Yet, it also invokes the same excitement in which only the xfiles could bring about.

  • Oasis- Best band of the 90's

    Grunge was shit

  • this eventually became Keep what ya got by him and Ian Brown

  • 0:23 keyboard melody sounds a bit like a Hendrix riff. Purple Haze. This is brilliant.

  • What a multi-talented man.

  • I love this song very much

  • I love this song.

  • This has been my song ever since I bought the Xfiles albumn back in '98. Driving in the rain at night on a lonely highway listening to this....pure brilliance.

  • you've also heard the piano bit on lord dont slow me down on the extra's bit .

  • This was turned into Keep What Ya Got by Ian Brown

  • iTunes has nothing on this. iTunes be sucking sometimes. I loved this song during the credits part.

  • ma l'ha fatta noel?

  • this song is pure coke made music

  • i know this was written in 98 ish but why the fuck cant noel doin something like this with oasis now.liam could sing over this

  • @futrestarofengland this doesn't require words.

  • @futrestarofengland If you listen to "Keep what you got" by Ian brown and Noel then you might hear exactly your wishes...minus liam though!

  • @futrestarofengland "keep what you got" - Ian Brown & Noel Gallagher

  • @futrestarofengland He turned this into Keep What You Got, a collabrative track with Ian Brown, check it out :)

  • @futrestarofengland

Liam singing over a track like this with his whiney and nasaly voice would ruin it. Tracks as good as this should stay instrumental.

  • This track was ORGASMIC during the closing credits of FTF!!!! I remember how the bass made the theatre walls shake. So perfect for X-Files. So hardcore.

  • oh yeah, I agree!

  • @daysleeper236 4 REAL RIGHT

  • Songs like this show that Noel does have way more range than people give him credit for.

Can't wait to see what a solo album by him sounds like. His side projects and collaborations are always so different that it would interesting to see what he'll come up with not burdened down by the tag of Oasis, or having to adapt to the opinions of the others in the band or the Oasis fan base.

But the latest album is mega...and definitely a new direction!

  • "oooo... Oasis are boring.. all their songs sound the same.."

    HAVE THIS BITCHES!!

  • @51yourtimeisup because you can obviously do better and be the biggset band of the 90's can't you. arse.

  • noel + x files = perfect

  • bomb ass. i lost this CD

  • excelent song!

  • Hm ...

  • Keep what ya got

  • i thought tht piano bit sounded bit fimiliar .. :P

  • Nine Inch Nails - Every Day Is Exactly the Same

  • awsome!!

    exellent !

    brilliant!!

i dont know wot to say

    noel rocks!
