@foe279 to also add onto NiceAswifts comment it really depends , snowflake eels are also known for eating coral but i know many people who have these eels and dont touch the coral. I my self just got a snowflake eel today , a rather small one and i honestly dont know it really depends on the temermant of the eel , my peppermint shrimp was all over the eel and the eel just sat there so it really depends. btw mines in a 60 gallon reef set up
=( awwwww I feel kinda bad for the shrimp lol .it was like hey what about me !!! at least its friendly ...that must be cool to have the eel and the shrimp . im surprised the eel doesnt try to eat the shrimp .
@pornoslut especially since snowflakes have rounded teeth to eat crustaceans, I would say the shrimp and starfish are just a matter of time as the eel gets bigger...
my shrimp and moray are the same way, they just live with each other peacefully, but the shrimp tries to crawl in the eel's cave so i mean he's not a fan of that.
the minmum size tank is around 30 gallon but i would be good in a 40 - 50 gallon tank. When you buy one they come small, around 5-8 inches. there price range ranges from £30 to £50 depedning on where you get one. bare in mind they grow to aorund 24 inches and are escape artist and like getting themselfs in trouble. if you have any more questions please ask. I have just bought on and he is doing well.
hey nice vid your gonna need a bigger tank soon but i like it so far. I got a question tho? do you nede to put live sand in or can you put regular sand in?
hahahahahha that eel will eat your shrimp in less then a year.... also, that 12 gallon nano will NOT accommodate for much longer, your eel is going to start making his way out soon...
Can snow flake eels can live any kind of clownfish too? Is it okay If I can put one small snow flake eel in a 20 gallon nano fish tank? can one small snow flake eel can live with other kinds of reef fish in a 20 gallon nano fish tank is that fine?
snowflakes should be in 50gallon+ systems. in a 20 gallon you could put it alone in there for a little while then you would need to upgrade. eels are known to go after any kind of small fish so pick carefullly.
Puffers are a good fish with eels. Their defensive technique is well suited for staying of an eel attack, plus both fish are agressive and will stay their distance from each other. But get a 50gallon+. They deserve it.
nice fish tank, lol the shrimp kept on pouncing on your hand to get the food, that shrimp must be brave to do that, i love your snow flake eel, it's so cute
i have a question that i only want some one that has raised one of these to answer. can a baby liv in a 10 gallon wile i save up for a 29 or so

Your on crack if you think a snowflake eel can be kept in there. I wouldn't pulot them in a tank small then 100 galoons.

@niceAswift it would be kickass if they stayed that size and harmless everyone could have a eel in any system!

That is the most adorable shrimp i'v ever seen.
ReallyNow9 2 years ago
I don't think it is such a good idea to have a shrimp in the same tank with your eel, soon the eel will grow big enough to eat it.
