That's right, Graham. It is funny how quickly the years go by. Well, no; 'funny' is not the right word - 'depressing' would be more accurate and appropriate, I feel. When Edison Lighthouse were @ no. 1 in the charts with "Love Grows ", back in January 1970, I was less than five years of age. Now I am a middle-aged man, who has just turned forty-six.
Some of the 'birds' who were dancing to "Love Grows" in the TOTP studio - 41 years ago - were VERY tasty, back then !!
I agree with those comments, Mike. Back in 1970, even the wealthiest people in this society did not have access to mobile phones, the Internet, or huge, flat-screen 'HD' television sets which could pick up hundreds of different channels - these things simply did not exist 40 years ago.
But I don't think, for one moment, that Mr and Mrs Average (in the year 2011) are any happier or more content with their lot in life than their predecessors were, back in 1970.
Glad you liked it. I never knew about it until I found it awhile back and saved it. When it was no longer on Youtube, re-uploaded it so folks could still be able to see it.

From 1:22, the girls dancing must now be around sixty years old and probably grandmothers!

Some idiot copyright owner is worried about the few dollars they are not getting.
On the record to them: WTF is your problem? Call YouTube 6/7/10 and work it out.

Just reminds me of such innocent times. But were they really?
WestLondonDroog 2 years ago 3
Yes it was a wonderful and innocent time.
No cellphones or internet and I had more time to spend with my family.
Yes we have more of a modern life but sometimes I wonder have we lost touch with our community for these advances.
