The CPSC has always stacked the deck in favor of exaggerating the risk. I understand that there will be low-watts that will get hurt with fireworks, but you can't make the world safe for morons.

The profressionals secure their display racks to try and keep them from tipping over. I watched on discovery channel when one guy helped with a profressional fireworks display. When he lit the Class B mortars he was right next to the tubes when they were going off, but he was using a torch to light them.

Sometimes I think they also soak things in lighter fluid before they start filming with the cameras, then when a firework hits something that might be hard to catch fire, on contact it quickly bursts into flames. Sometimes they show a firework tipping over or tell the public that someone was killed when a firework tipped over. Aerial fireworks cannot tip over if you place bricks around all sides of the device and have it on a hard level surface.

All they did was show how powerful M-80s are and not to hold them in your hand, but fuses on those things have been defective in the past and people were hurt because it went off before they could get away.

CPSC is trying to shut down pyrotechnic chemical vendors with a complete disreguard for the fireworks clubs and hobbyists. They were only supposed to stop the vendors from selling the components specific to m-80's, but instead they stabbed them in the back and restricted common items like safety fuse and KNO3. THIS is why I suspect the CPSC is anti-fireworks.

Haha yeah I've seen these before, including the kid who put a blasting cap in his mouth (5x uglier than either of those pictures). Put salutes on the ground, get a long reliable fuse, light and get away. Poorly made salutes always make the headline news, make something that isn't shit and they are very fun.
