  • nice

  • and he stops exactly where he starts.... crazy...

  • Are you sure it's not a young man in his 30's in make up to look old??? The movement, is so fluid, quick and snapping.

  • i wouldn't want to get hit by him

  • Damn if this guy is still alive he's 103, talk about arts of the immortal sages yay!!!! :D Wish I could go to China land of my HAN PEOPLE to hang out and learn Baji from these masters of life, instead I'm stuck in N.Y.C. in the ghetto lower eastside with crackheads and scumbags smoking weed all day/night who plague the city with crime...

  • Impressive and powerful! Thank you for posting this.

  • my favorite martial art :D

  • If you would like to see some of the older and harder aspects of Bajiquan - look for the Hui Muslim villages.

There are Masters there who still adheres to the more traditional and harder way of Bajiquan.

The Chinese Muslim ( Islamic ) people have been contributing and perfecting many of the Martial Art forms such as Xingyiquan , Piguaquan , Bajiquan and even wushu forms.

    Look out for them too.

  • damm old guy is fast i hope when im that old im still working good

  • @angelloakira

guy is pathetic and sloopy, and he fools people cause usually people in their mid 60's aren't physical. I was not impressed by the old phony and all the con men passing him off as a grandmaster can fofff and die

  • @flancka i would love to see you in the ring, better yet the dojo mat, youre not a martial arts expert, so far everwhere your name pops up proves youre only an expert at being a moronic asshole

  • bet he would kick any hoodys arse in a dark alley lol

  • Nice speed and power the gentlemen haves for his age

  • @taoistwarrior

Not only for his age =)

  • Good footwork/stepping

It reminds me of when I lived in China 1991-2006

  • The footwork does? O_o

  • 5 stars!

  • Hao!

  • Smooth, sudden, and defined movements with lots of power. This is some of the better Baji I've ever seen. Top quality.

  • mashallah

  • alot of these movements are in xingyiquan. i think they are were once the same martial art. both liniear and direct with spring like movements.

  • I don't think so. Different powers and body structure.

  • Not really. xinyiquan has several different body movements and powers depending on which of the 12 animals is being used. I also read somewhere online that baji also meant the same word as xinyi at one stage, im trying to find the link. I was reading through wikipedia and suprisingly both systems have a person who were legends because of their spear use, which have been incorpprated into those systems.

  • Shen qiang 神枪 is a very common nick name for people who were good with the spear. Both in Xingyi and Baji there were practitioners with that nick name. than again there is a difference between the spear play in the two arts.

  • I agree with Jingang. Not to be rude, but the animals are just combinations of the elements and their Shen fa, not different movements. That is kul about them both having a spear master in their lineage, but if you look at the history and the areas where they developed, I think thats where the similarities end. Baji was a Muslim system obviously, but Xingyi spread all over. Also, when you look at the art that Xingyi comes from, Dai style, it looks nothing like Baji. Have a great day! :)

  • StoneTiger you say it really well how it comes from similar places but is not the same. The details from the video i see is the ZhenJaio (charging step) and really fluid to solid body postures. Doing the BaJi I had a really hard time learning to expressing power in a XingYi way. Once i started to understand SanTi training i found out Dai style does not even use it as a primary technique. I went home and saw my dads XingYi he learned and we were both doing XingYi but it was massively different.

  • I'm no expert, but it does quite resemble the Liu He Xinyi,I'm only a beginner.

  • @RagingUtai There is a link between Xingyiquan and Bajiquan, there both are known as muslem kung fu styles or chanquan/ long fist. In Xing yi chuan the Master ji longfeng was known as the Divine spear and in Baji chuan the master LI Shuwen was known as God of spear Li, the link maybe the religion of the people that practice it.

  • I don't really know much martial arts (karate for 6 months, judo for 7 weeks, bando for 6 months, etc.) but what surprises me is that he is 100 years old and moves like a 20 year old. Now THAT is what I call grandmaster-like.

  • Grandmaster Shen Jiarui is only 65. Wu xiufeng is not in the video (already passed away)

  • I dont see the black tiger

  • Behind the Chinese...

  • very accomplished

  • fast and strong

  • nice. his power looks like a tiger.

  • Sim[ly Amazing!!! I've always wanted to learn baji its a shame I can't seem to find a decent school in AZ

  • wow, what power
