This was a very unique and heart touching story. I haven't been there but these words are so well spoken that I can relate to the point I feel like I am there with him. I have had many dogs over the years and been through so many differant types of drama trauma and unfortunate circumstances but one way or another any one of my many dogs has saved my life and my sanity and pulled me through and I just wish everyone could see what I see and feel what I feel about animals, dogs in particular
Wow! touched me on so many levels. Personally as a dog trainer I see spiritual parallels between my dogs and me and my relationship to God. The Last Samurai soundtrack reminded me how beauty shines through on a backdrop of injustice, while the narrative is reminiscent of that part at the end of the Moody Blues "Nights in White Satin". I could identify with the struggle of loneliness even in the midst of a crowd. Thanks for striking so many chords ,nostalgic and overtly real.
Many thanks for this thoughtfull and comprehensive comment. It really moved me when I heard the poem years ago, and it still moves me now. I am so pleased that you enjoyed it too. Please tell all your friends!
Four days ago, I lost my oldest mini-Dachshund, Vlad - age 15 1/2. How I miss his sweet, loyal face! Your video comforted me with the words "Here lies my friend." Vlad is at peace now, and I know he would want this video shared with others. Thank you!
I've never cried so hard during a video in my life. 5 stars, favorited, shared. This is the most wonderful video, thank god for people like you. May that precious dog be at peace.
You have made such a touching, moving and beautiful video. I have been subscribed to you for a while now and I don't often have time to visit and watch all my subscribers videos. Your beautiful video was sent by my friend, lovetoallanimals. Thank you for posting this. Beautifully done. 5/5
Difficult to write now, with tears streaming down my face! I subscribed to your channel a few days ago and am just now watching your other videos... Thank you for all the work that you do, you restore my faith in humanity! Your dad's story is heartbreaking, thank you for sharing it... I see that a warm heart runs in your family... Thank you so much!
I am so moved by all the lovely comments I have received recently about this video.
It is comforting to know that there are wonderful people out there, who feel as we do in our charity, that whatever we can do to help these poor noble creatures get loving homes is worth every second of out determination and time invested.
you know andrew, this is the secont time i listen to this poem. It completely takes me away in the world of the spoken words....the video is encredible without pictures . it forses the viewers to picture it for them self, put me in the situation
i can totaly relate to it! " god saved my life with the help of a dog" thruly magnificent work andrew, its the most emotional and real video ive seen on youtube in this subject, thrusly briliant in its simplicity!
Outstanding, remarkable work of the heart, took me into a different world, thank you for sharing, this really does make a difference. Beautiful poetry and thought provoking.
Sorry i did not mean to make you cry, this is supposed to be a happy story about how a simple chance meeting with a stray dog can change someones life. Or in this case save a life!
Great poem though. i have recited this now for 40 years!!

Andy; you're a bit of a 'dark horse' yourself; you've got an awesome voice for narrative. I hope you make more of these.
I've just shared it with everyone I know.
Good luck and I hope you get some donations from it.

P.S. Where did you get the poem?

Oh, how sad to get your comment about Vlad. No words can ever help in these times of grief and heartbreak, but time will dull the pain.
I can only send you and your family love and best wishes. Our thoughts from everyone here in Spain working within Noahs arc are with you
