    for all windows :)

  • thanks...

  • thanks,,bro...

  • Thanks FabledArc for the helpful video. This does NOT completely remove the wga setup process cause at login it is still searching for the folders/files. Which can be verify in the application event log. P.S. This topic is the installation wga wizard nagging at startup to install after login NOT AFTER WGA IS INSTALLED!

  • Thank you! Now I don't have to see that coming up anymore. It was really annoying!

  • thankssssssssssss

  • Thanks mate !! It was so damn annoying to me !

  • The remainder.

##As you can see the Nagging messages did not appear

    7) Click My Computer, C:\ , WINDOWS, System32, (C:\WINDOWS\System32)

    8) When in the System32 sub-directory delete wgatray.exe and wgatray.dll

    9) Enjoy

  • So far it has worked for me. I also used another crack before this one. I thing that both together is the solution.

    1) Start windows in safe mode, generaly by pressing the F8 key during startup process

    2) When in safe mode click START, click RUN, type REGEDIT

    3) When in REGEDIT browse HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFOT\WINDOWSNT\CURRENTVERSION\WINLOGON\NOTIFY

    4) When in the NOTIFY sub-directory delete WGALOGON and all of its contents

    5) REBOOT

    6) Start Windows normaly

  • Thanks

  • thnx...this is really simple,but useful.it works

  • you can use shift+del to permanently delete it

  • thanks so much~!! xDDD no sweat pfft~!

  • OMg You are legend I love this, and I think of you

    With fondness and with pleasure;

The gift is great, but even more,

It’s your thoughtfulness I treasure. YOU ARE LEGEND

  • thankxxxxx....

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for the video , worked great... I just renamed the folder rather than delete it - worked fine.

  • Thank you so much!!! Subscribe is coming!

  • thanks dude hope this works!! ^_^

  • Right on man !!! Thanks for you're help.

  • thx alot u help me a lot....i apreciate it..

  • Many thanks!

  • It didnt work, mine pops up every minute and says this copy of windows is not Genuine.

  • @TheRebelYell73 Ouch. Well I have two recommendations. The first is watching another vid of mine "No More WGASetup Task " which should help. If that doesn't stop the pop ups, there's the video response on this page (Stopping WGA). It's a bit of a last resort and isn't as easy as this method though.

  • @FabledArc Thanks for helping out. I finally was able to remove it by using a program call removeWAT v2.1 Another person on youtube posted it. All better now. :-)

  • @TheRebelYell73 Ah. That means it was already installed and the wizard wasn't the problem. That happens from time to time and the user may not even know it's gone past the wizard stage.

  • Thank you sooo much. I didn't know, what to do.. but now, it's over. Thank you!

  • Thanks FabledArc. This definately works. To everyone else: If you are having this problem, this is the easiest and best solution out there. I too Googled this, at it brought me here! Thanks again.

  • Thanks, I searched google string "WGA installation xp stopping" and you were a top result.

Fkn windows is so annoying, I have macbook and bootcamp installed with bootleg install and no way am I installing WGA because my hardware "profile" changes with each reboot.

And if anyone is curious why I would use bootleg, it is because when I installed it off my full version non-oem disk I would be prompted to register windows every so often even though it was registered already because of WGA.

  • thanks

  • thx man my dad installed windows xp (the same disc) on 2 pcs and it asked for windows genuine advantages i tried it in a virtual machine and it works good job

  • Right on man. Thanks.

  • In Comand prompt-Scheduled tasks you can also delite start up to be shore.

  • wow that was a lot easier than i thought. thanks for that!

  • tyvm thougt only me had that wga proplem :D

  • thanx ill look for that.........

  • Thanks man :))))

  • You're a star. My files were hidden but I stuck with it and found them in the end. I'm not a computer whizz and suggestions from other sites were just way too difficult for me!! I'm so impressed with you that I've just this minute created my You Tube account just so I could post you a huge THANK YOU! Just hope I've done this post o.k. as it's my first one ever! Just one thing - any thoughts on turning off the annoying Windows "bling bling bling" tune when I start up!!? xx

  • @leaningchimney1 Thank you for that. Funny enough, I'm not a genius at computers either, but I am good at gathering info and working things out from there (and with WGA that was tricky considering how rare it is to come across info that works just for the installation wizard).

As for that "bling bling bling" tune, I'm not sure. I've actually avoided it by plugging in some dollar store headphones into my speaker and that pretty much stops me from hearing anything at startup.

  • I'm truly sorry for a double reply, but a quick check of some resources have shown something that might help with the startup tune (mine's different though; no blings). Google 'stop windows startup tune' and go down to the link from ehow on how to change it to a song. It lets you know how to get to the file needed (C:\WINDOWS\Media) and how to make it so the modifications can be reversed at any time. I haven't got the time to check it out myself, but harmless renaming shouldn't make it a mess.

  • @FabledArc, I looked into C:\WINDOWS\system32\ but in that system32 folder the KB905474 folder is missing...

  • @sjvietboy408 That can happen, unfortunately. Here's something copy & pasted from an earlier comment. It refers to a video by MultiSupre. Hope it helps.

"In system32 see if you can find the file "wgatray.exe." If it's there, rename it to "wgatray.exe.bak" then bring up the Windows Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete). Go to Processes and find "wgatray.exe.bak." Right click, choose 'End Process,' and (according to the video) 'wgatray.exe.bak' should be deleted."

  • @FabledArc, ok it works, I got the WGA removed successfully, but will it come back sooner or later sometime in the future?

  • @sjvietboy408 That I don't know. However, I can tell you that I haven't had it come back to the test computer ever since posting this video. If it does come back though (kind of doubting it right now, but you never know), chances are the route in the video may still work.

  • aww man ive deleted it butt ever time i turn off my computre then turn it back on the stupid ass wga is in the corner and then i have to wait like 10 seconds then verifi it and so i click ok and it works and it dosent pop up till i turn it off and get on it agin can some one help pleas.......

  • @bapes13DB Well you can check "No More WGA Setup Task" in that case. There are also some suggestions in the comments below that may help (a recent one of mine mentioning MultiSupre seems to have been the biggest help). Hope you can deal with that problem.

  • Thanx buddy...worked beautifully.

  • Thanks!

  • Excellent mate i couldnt find anything on google like you already said good job your the EXPERT!!

  • You saved me a new monitor! I almost threw my mouse through my old one trying to get rid of this. Yours was the only solution that worked (and the easiest I might add). THANKS!!!!!!!

  • Thank you very much. It's work.

  • Brilliant. Thanks

  • This worked really well for me! Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks man, your a legend!!!

  • Thanks man!

  • Thanks for your help!

    It worked a treat.

  • Thanks for taking the time to make/post this video. It was so annoying and I am very glad that I came across this video that you made.

  • Thanks, this really helped ^^

It seems there's also a "WGASetup" in "C:\WINDOWS\Tasks"

It's a .job file that is programed to run the wgasetup.exe

Is that why the damn thing apears every time you open the computer?

  • @yugikitten It's partly at fault, yes. WGA just installs a mess of things so it's difficult to get rid of it if you don't know where to look.

  • Sorry, for wrong rate. You comment is really good.

  • Fablearc. I find a File named WGA TRay and WGA Logon but i can't delete them :( Pls help me.

  • @xpliiziit You might be able to remove them if you follow what I said in a previous comment. The info was from a video by MultiSupre and it seems to have worked for others. Look below at my comment starting with "It may be a hidden file..." That's currently one of the only ways I know of how to delete those stubborn files.

  • Thanks alot !!! that is simple

  • I cannot found the KB905474 and my computer is window XP Pack 2

  • @hmt0211 That folder does not show up for everyone. You may just have WGATray in your system. If that is the case, please follow the directions I left in my last comment below 2 weeks ago. That just may help. If not, I'm sorry.

  • Cheers.

  • thanks a million brother.... you're a real life saver.......

  • the KB905474 that u sed is not in my system32 but i am suffering of WGA pop-up

  • It may be a hidden file, but if you used the entire path and still had no luck, then there's something I found out about today from a video by MultiSupre that might be able help you. In system32 see if you can find the file "wgatray.exe." If it's there, rename it to "wgatray.exe.bak" then bring up the Windows Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete). Go to Processes and find "wgatray.exe.bak." Right click, choose 'End Process,' and (according to the video) 'wgatray.exe.bak' should be deleted.

  • ...thanks! :D

  • inside that folder it doesn't have wga-this genuine-that please help!!!

  • Delete the folder anyway and search in C:\WINDOWS\Tasks for something labeled WGA. Get rid of that too. I also remember reading somewhere (it was a comment in an old article on WGA) that there is a folder holding more files on WGA. I'll try to find it again and make a video on it.

If there is nothing in the folder, I don't know what to tell you except maybe something in the comments could help. I'm sorry.

  • anyway thanks bro!!!! it works ill give you 5 stars!!!!!

  • it says that the file is in use... help??

  • Try going to the tasks folder. It's usually C:\WINDOWS\Tasks. If it's anything like what I found, there should be a task labeled WGA in there. Delete it and it may help. When I found it, it started up WGA every time at startup. This task is best removed along with the Wizard (the sneaky thing; it's harder to get rid of on some computers). Hope that helped in some way.

  • nevermind... it helps if the folder is the only thing open, because when i closed firefox, it allowed me to remove it...

i think microsoft is trying to spy on windows xp users...

  • Just one of the reasons why WGA is compared to spyware. :/

  • I don't have the KB905474 folder. Now what?

  • Hi! Search for WgaTray. Start>Search and ull find it! Delete it!

  • it's a hidden file, go to tools and then folder options. then select view and change it to show hidden files. then it will appear.

  • Thanks a lot. this has been bothering me so much. thx again :)

  • Thank you very much! its help me alot!

    100% working

  • Thanks for the great tip. And I appreciate you sharing it with all.

  • thank you ...sending good vibs back to you ......

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

  • Thanks a lot!!!!!!!

  • thanx

  • thanks a lot!

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

I have been trying to get rid of this for the past 5 hours... All of the programs out there are only good if you have installed the WGA. The notifier is what I was trying to get rid of... Thanks for posting this vid..

  • thank you, i didn't know it was that easy

  • thank you.

  • very much to the point thank's

  • Thanks man

  • Thanks.

  • Great Tip, Thankyou!

  • man can u please tell me what can i do to get rider of that message that Windows didn't pass the genuine test or something like that ! it's something in the right corner above the clock ! i have installed recently an optional update called Root Certificates and i thought that was something good but it was saying that will need something extended validation activation or something like that ! OK so my question is how do i get rider of that message and bring back the updates!?

  • Your computer didn't pass the genuine test? I'm sorry, but all this does is help to get rid of the wizard *before* WGA goes through Microsoft's little test. I know nothing of Root Certificates. All I did was find some info on getting rid of WGA's wizard and followed through before things got worse. I then shared my knowledge with the web.

I'm sorry, but it seems that if "Windows didn't pass the genuine test" you may want to check another video for information to help you. I'm sorry.

  • Tkanks alot, I was searching for that path for a while.

  • and last but not the least, special mention to Youtube,, the one who provide all this material things visible by human eye...

  • Of course man, I could not even found this sweet video of yours without our SP king Google...

  • Wow! how long would I fill out this comment my MAN with only a maximum of 500 character just to give way my depth appreciation and tears of joy while watching a few minute of a very one-shot instruction just to kill this thick GUI of WGA Adbot..

  • Thanks!! No more pesky pop-ups!

  • Finally...lots of confusion out there on the difference between deleting after installed and deleting just the installation wizard...you nailed it! Thanks a ton!

  • thanks bro=)

  • Thanks !!! quick and simple!

  • Thanks for the video, quick and easy instructions, yet very effective.... Your the Man!!!!!

  • Thanks for uploading this video, that installation wizard was beginning to drive me insane!

  • i owe you a lot man!god bless you keep helping others,have a nice day!^_^

  • thnx again ur the light in my darkest hour!

  • You're welcome. ^_^ (Didn't think of renaming it. Huh. That's a useful thing to know.)

  • dude it helps me!thnx for your help it doesnt showed up any more i renamed it instead of deleting, but when i login a box shows saying you may be a victim of a etc...what ever it is,it have 2 buttons 1 is resolve now and 2 is resolve later i just wait for 5 secs and click resolve later, should i ignore it?after i log in nothing shows and my background is back again!thank you again, thank you very much, thanks bcoz u reply to all of my questions,u are a really good man!i wish we'll meet someday

  • Hmm...Never got the "resolve" option. Just the "we're forcing you to go through the wizard" option (if you can call it that).

I'm glad things worked out for you. In addition, you may have helped others with the same problem, so I have to dish out a thank you to you as well. ^_^ (Also, I left a message on your channel. Youtube was messing up bad and wouldn't let me reply.)

  • dude i try to delete it and it said cannot delete "WgaTrayAccessDenied"make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use..T_T help pls i got a lot of memory on my disk

  • does it delete the little star too in the taskbar?

  • Star? Um...you lost me. I never saw a star. I just cleared out WGA in its entirety beginning with this. I'd put up a video of everything else I found (by complete accident), but I forgot to get the screen recorder up after getting info from a comment in an article at a site called cnet. I can't find that article anymore with the instructions on how to actually get the rest of the junk deleted.

As far as I know, those two 'things' you found should stop the pop-ups if deleted. If not, let me know.

  • the star is the little notification thingy (i think its after the thing gets installed. i had to remove wga from my gramps laptop. ) you have to close wgatray.exe on task manager. restart into safe mode, delete wgatray.exe from both c:\Windows\System32 and c:\Windows\System32\dllcache. start regedit, find this folder: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\

Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify , Delete the folder WgaLogon

    reboot. should be gone.

  • Ah. Thank you for that. It's been a while so I don't recall ever seeing the star. As well, you've given some very helpful information on the subject.

  • hey i found something in system32 it was "WgaTray(Application) and WgaLogon.dll(Application Extension)" what should i do to this things?

  • Those would be part of the Installation Wizard for WGA. Go ahead and delete them, although if you would feel safer, you could always copy them, put them in a zip or rar app., attach it to a draft in your inbox, then have them later for one of those "just in case" moments. (Or just plain erase 'em. It's up to you.)

I do recall WgaTray. It was annoying and one of things that kept the wizard popping up. I believe WgaLogon is connected to WGATask, another "extra" that comes with the install. wizard.

  • dude can you help me plsss i cant find the KB905474 what should i do?help me plss T_T

  • As stated on my channel, "I'm not a supreme expert." (Should have put "anything" not "everything" in retrospect.) I found this little tidbit out by chance.

Try checking further back in the comments and see if anything helps. It should be noted that this little 'guide' may not work on all computers. So far on the ones that it has worked on, there seems to have been no problems.

I'd try Start Menu > Search and look up WGA.

Perhaps I should get WGA's wizard again and look into this...

  • tnx man!

  • Thank you SO much!

  • Thanks , this is brilliant.

    Couldn't find it anywhere.

    P

  • Awesome... Thank you =)

  • thanks

  • thanks man ur really the best

  • Cheers mate - nice one

  • Perfect solution so far. Has this come back later on?

  • So far my computer hasn't had WGA come back to it. If it does somehow come back (it seems choosing manually which programs to install won't always work to avoid WGA) I'm getting rid of it in the same fashion as in the video. Glad to know this video is still helping people out.

  • i am from kerala (india) thanks your gr8 man lot of thanks thank u very much thank uuu

    pround of indian

  • great! I love you

  • thank you, it work for me.

But I have to turn of automatic update ofter deletion of the mentioned folder.

  • Hm. I suppose that it's different depending on the computer. I recently put the steps in the description to check on your updates as well as your update history. (You can also manually update your computer this way, but be careful of downloading WGA again if you want to keep it off your computer.)

You shouldn't have had to actually turn off automatic updates. I actually kept them on and still get updates, although there's no telling what effects come from Microsoft by deleting WGA later on.

  • Thank you 5/5

  • Thank you! Now MS just needs to be sued for forcing this virus on us!!!

  • Man you are the great .

  • finally, something that worked.. thanks

  • OMG! Dude, I think I love you. I have been reading on line about various ways to get rid of this and it sounded easy and safer. I know my version is genuine but i was coming across some horror stories of how is bugs you and constantly tells you your version is not valid when you know it is.unless sony but some pirated widows install cd's when i bought this pc! Thanks again! YOU ROCK!

  • Thanks so much! I think this will work for me too. You're right, there's nothing on google and the Yahoo Answer wiseguys only tell you to buy a genuine Windows copy...

  • thank you sir

  • Great hint my friend, it worked. Thx a lot!

  • thanks it worked

  • Thx...it worked awesome!

  • It worked perfectly, thanks for sharing.

  • Great! Many Thanks!

  • tks a lot. the video saved my day

  • Thank you! That installation wizard was totally annoying. I don't know how I missed it since I use custom updates...

  • You didn't miss it. The wizard installed itself without asking you =/ I know since I also have custom updates and I always check to see what I install...

  • what wll happen if i install this ?
