I think this commercial sums up peta. Ugly woman who degrade attractive woman for a pointless statement. People eating tasty animals. Studies also show people enjoy the smell of their own farts. I dont but eh.
studies show that the world would have been a better place without humans.why PETA doesn't initiate a suicide action which could possibly save the world?
@Svenbrian it isn't that milk that isn't 'designed' for humans, it's that COW'S milk isn't designed for humans - and I am not suggesting anyone should still be drinking human milk after infancy, but people should be able to see the difference
I'm a vegetarian and from what I have seen from PETA, I support most of the measures (if not all) that they push for in regards to animal rights, but I don't like this idea of female exploitation that they've had for a while now. Also, just because other commercials depict women this way to promote their products, doesn't make it okay. They can find other ways to promote animal welfare.
If you think about it, the people against this video are NOT agains vegetarianism, but more so against the fact that PETA is using sexually explicit/extreme advertisments to support it.
meat gives you the long lasting energy (from protein) you need to to go all night...vegheads don't have better sex then us meat eaters but this research (poll of vegtapeople) is probably real I'll explain, PeTA says to fellow veggers that if you say that you have great sex then we will say that the two are connected. I could just as easily ask a person drinking juice if they had cancer and when they said no i could then say that juice prevents cancer.
Protein does not give you energy - fats and carbohydrates are burned by our bodies to give us energy - protein is only used for energy if there are no fats or carbs - learn a little nutrition before you make stupid, ignorant comments meathead

I thought humans were mammals but not animals? Probably my mistake, though. Y'know what I meant: humans as opposed to OTHER animals.
On a larger scale, it's actually more economic to be vegetarian - but I doubt world hunger would be eliminated if everybody went veggie all of a sudden, so... Oh, and same with carbon emissions - better to be be veggie, but I'm guessing it wouldn't make much difference in the long run as we're killing the planet anyway.
Well, hmmmmm1988, I wouldn't say 'we're killing the planet', we're just making the planet less hospitable to us humans and other forms of life as we know them..the Earth itself will go on, with or without us.
Oh, & the ad is a little to sexual. I mean, I know we've all seen 'sex scenes' in movies & stuff that are probably worst than this, but they can't flat out PROMOTE sex on a national TV ad where millions of family's, including kids, are watching.
Um, wow, we've 'evolved' past the stage of needing meat to survive? Wtf is that! It's called the circle of LIFE. We eat the animals, the animals EAT OTHER ANIMALS, & the world turns. If we didn't eat the animals, not only would we be unhealthy [because we need what's in meat for our bodies], but the world would be overrun with animals & we'd have to kill a lot of them ANYWAYS. Seriously, you PETA people are nuts. It's a WAY OF LIFE; how the worlds been running for centuries. Why stop now?
FireIceAiken, what you're saying is great if we still lived in a time where all of us still have to hunt, fish, and grow our own food, and had no nutritional supplements, but many, if any of us don't do these anymore, as this has already been done for us through agribusiness, and other methods of food production that allow for mass consumption. As for being unhealthy without eating meat, well we have nutritional supplements as well as fortified foods available to make up for the deficiencies.
People really don't understand PETA at all. I have problems with them but it is based in fact. The only real issue is the killing of shelter animals. However what most people do not realize or bother to find out is that these animals that are coming in are terminally ill or close to death already. The also ironical how all these people are complaining about PETA's practices but don't do anything themselves for animal rights. Eating meat is killing the world. Wise up.
Eating meat in moderation won't hurt anything. Ever hear of the food chain?
Do you think if foxes or other natural carnivores eat animals that they are killing the world? Look at nature around you and YOU, Nabis0100, should wise up.
Uhh, eating meat [even in moderation] will hurt the animal that DIES for you to eat it.
For God's sake, ever hear of evolution? I'm pretty sure we've evolved past the stage of needing meat to survive. It's a luxury and you need to realise that you are killing for pleasure and not because it's natural whatsoever. That's such an old argument and it's not valid anymore so get over it.
Do what you want, but don't try to tell us that we're wrong.
Uhh, you ARE wrong. There are certain nutritional needs that our bodies get from meat that you can't get from plants. Sure you can get suppliments, but meat is more efficient. Of course an animal dies when you eat it. An animal dies if another animal eats it. Humans are animals. It's a fact of life.
If you have such a problem with eating meat, you don't have to. Stop bitching about other people eating meat.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I'm not bitching about other people eating meat. =) I was a meat eater for the first 10 years of my life so I have no right to act all high and mighty. I'm just pointing out that when you said you're not hurting anything, it wasn't actually true.
And it's absolutely ridiculous to say that it's a fact of life. Humans now have the intelligence to develop meat substitutes where animals don't. So don't try to kid yourself that we are animals, too. We're not.
Alsooo, the millions of vegetarians and vegans in the world are proof that we don't "need" the nutrients specifically from meat. [And not just people who took in those nutrients for 10 years, either].
But thanks for trying to make ME feel bad about NOT choosing to eat meat. =)
Keep enjoying being narrow minded and living in the past. Ciao!
I always think it is funny when people who are misinformed try to inform other people. It happens on all sides of all issues but the meat argument is classic. I don't like to go too in depth online, especially on a youtube video, but i will point out that a fox hunting is nothing like humans mass consuming factory farmed meat 3-5 times a day. The environmental impact alone of this kind of consumption is destroying the world.
Nabis, the same goes towards people who don't know what they or other people are talking about. I never mentioned fox hunting. I was talking about when foxes kill other animals. How does it hurt the world when other animals kill to eat? It's been going on WAY before humans came into the picture.
Of course there are some companies that may be going overboard, but whining about other people eating meat or guilting them is hardly going to change anything. Grow up.
Good job, I never said anything about fox hunting either. I said "a fox hunting" As in the animal hunting. Yeah its basic English.. hard I know. Also it is not "some companies" It is the majority of the meat industry that is out of line. I personally try to inform people and allow them to make the educated choice. PETA uses different tactics but that doesn't make them wrong. If you don't feel guilty about murdering animals for the pleasure of your taste buds then thats fine.
Hm... you're right. You did say "a." I must have read over that. But my point remains, despite your attempts of language-insulting.
Read previous posts; not just mine, but from others as well. There are nutritional needs for eating meat. I'd imagine most people in the world don't consider the death of an animal as much of an outrage as you do. Your guilt attempts make you as bad, possibly worse than PETA.
If pointing out the environmental repercussions of over consumption makes people feel guilty then right on. It should. It's not just meat it is everything. Meat is just the easiest to stop using. Despite your very scholarly sources of "other people's comments on a youtube video there are thousands of health professionals who disagree and hundreds of thousands of vegans and vegetarians worldwide who are living examples that one does not need animal products to live healthy.
Statistically vegetarians live longer, healthier lives than meat eaters. Most Americans get triple the amount of protein needed and vegetarians get double. Even if you are looking at genetics we are barley at the point of being able to consume animal products from an evolutionary standpoint. The human digestive system can't properly digest cows milk even in people who are not lactose intolerant. The list goes on. You sir are living on load of bullshit. Sorry to be harsh, but it pisses me off.
If you want to live off that organic plant crap, then go ahead. For the record, I AM lactoce intolerant AND I live in Asia, and I still refuse to drink or eat anything tofu-related. I know it's healthy. I'll take my "loads of bullshit" any day over the self-righteous preaching you're trying to do.
And yes, I will clear-consciencously accept my role in the food chain for taste alone, even if it requires the death of an animal.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I'm just fine with fresh organic delicious vegan food.
Quite cute by the way how now it's me attacking poor little you and your simple "let me live" beliefs when you have all this time been condemning and attacking other peoples beliefs with your bullshit and ill informed opinions. I don't understand how it is so hard for people to just not tell everyone about things they do not know about. Stick to shit you acctually know about... bigot.
Also not eating meat saves more gasoline than not driving a car. Not to mention vegetarians do not contribute to the rivers of shit and piss coming out of factory and dairy farms that clog up streams. I honestly do not consider any one who eats meat to be an environmentalist. I think you need to get out of your little world and realize that the bullshit that come off the top of your head is not reality. I know it's hard to live with, but sometimes you just don't know. =(
Pdmahler, a person can have nutritional deficiencies whether they eat meat or not. There are certain nutritional needs that our bodies get from plants that you can't get from meat as well. Vitamin C and lycopene come to mind. Not saying that everyone should become a vegetarian, certainly not overnight, but the thing is when animals get food from other animals, they take only what they need, can't say the same thing about humans.
Also, NBC has played many more "scandalous" ads than this when it comes to hot women.
It's the vegetables that got this rejected. The junk food companies don't want the competition. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them petitioned in the back rooms for this ad to be rejected.
lol @ 'The junk food companies don't want the competition.' I didn't think those companies would be that bothered by this ad, Keshira. You may be right.
hmmmmm1988: If you want animals to be treated with respect, treat people with respect first. This ad does not follow that at all.
Keshira: No, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want my hypothetical kids seeing women practically putting asparagus inside themselves. It's not the veggies that are the problem, it's where they're putting them.
I disagree. Peta has large flaws the bring other reputable companies down as well. Peta should disband and hand their decent projects to a company that lives is the real world.
This clip is awesome. I saw this same clip on ihatestupidpeoplelol.blogspot. com/ . that site is funny as crap and has all kinds of funny vids. i recommend it for sure.
That may very well be true, but for a group that preaches complete animal rights, taking in more animals than they can take care of just to look like heroes is not only hypocritical, it is just a downright shitty thing to do.
Maybe NBC rejected the ad because it was too sexual. Maybe they rejected the ad because PETA is an organization of misanthropic fools who compare the plight of the Jews under National Socialism to the "suffering" of chickens in cages (I actually saw a brochure of theirs making this comparison).
Do they feel pain? Probably. But do they "suffer" in any real sense of the word? I don't think so. The point of my comment was that comparing chickens in cages to the human victims of death camps is horribly callous and suggests serious moral confusion.
The fact is that in both situations, people were aware of and selectively ignored cruel, torturous conditions in the lives of others, in order to enjoy a benefit for themselves: in this case, the pleasure of eating meat, and in the case of the Jews, the pleasure of belonging to the "superior Aryan" community.
That the "others" in this case are a different species obviously means the magnitude of the crime is less. The PETA members I know understand this and are not "morally confused."
Suffering really isn't that high of an order of emotion. Babies can't articulate their emotions, but I am sure if they put in the conditions some of these farm animals suffer, they would feel similar emotions, and be similarly unable to express them.
I don't get it. How does eating vegetables make animals ethically treated? An animal could still be abused in someone's house regardless if I'm crunching carrots.
And how exactly does one determine if someone is having better sex? :/
P.E.T.A. doesn't stress Domestic Animal Abuse that much, A.S.P.C.A. really covers that, P.E.T.A. aims for Lab Testing, Farm Animals, and Wild Animals. And for future reference, the Animal Liberation Front are the ones who take action...
protieins are found in many things other than meat...lol, wait that could be misconstrued. Either way, whole grain bread and pasta, cheese, milk, and yogurt to name a few...Cheeseburgers rule though
studies have shown that protein (which is found in meat) helps hair growth and strengthen hair. these beautiful ladies and their hair came from eating meat, whether you like it or not.

Oh, and same with carbon emissions - better to be be veggie, but I'm guessing it wouldn't make much difference in the long run as we're killing the planet anyway.
hmmmmm1988 3 years ago
Well, hmmmmm1988, I wouldn't say 'we're killing the planet', we're just making the planet less hospitable to us humans and other forms of life as we know them..the Earth itself will go on, with or without us.
chiyerano 3 years ago
Oh, & the ad is a little to sexual. I mean, I know we've all seen 'sex scenes' in movies & stuff that are probably worst than this, but they can't flat out PROMOTE sex on a national TV ad where millions of family's, including kids, are watching.
FireIceAiken 3 years ago
Um, wow, we've 'evolved' past the stage of needing meat to survive? Wtf is that! It's called the circle of LIFE. We eat the animals, the animals EAT OTHER ANIMALS, & the world turns. If we didn't eat the animals, not only would we be unhealthy [because we need what's in meat for our bodies], but the world would be overrun with animals & we'd have to kill a lot of them ANYWAYS. Seriously, you PETA people are nuts. It's a WAY OF LIFE; how the worlds been running for centuries. Why stop now?
FireIceAiken 3 years ago

Wise up.
Nabis0100 3 years ago
Eating meat in moderation won't hurt anything. Ever hear of the food chain?
Do you think if foxes or other natural carnivores eat animals that they are killing the world? Look at nature around you and YOU, Nabis0100, should wise up.
pdmahler 3 years ago
Uhh, eating meat [even in moderation] will hurt the animal that DIES for you to eat it.
For God's sake, ever hear of evolution? I'm pretty sure we've evolved past the stage of needing meat to survive. It's a luxury and you need to realise that you are killing for pleasure and not because it's natural whatsoever. That's such an old argument and it's not valid anymore so get over it.
Do what you want, but don't try to tell us that we're wrong.
=)
hmmmmm1988 3 years ago
Uhh, you ARE wrong. There are certain nutritional needs that our bodies get from meat that you can't get from plants. Sure you can get suppliments, but meat is more efficient. Of course an animal dies when you eat it. An animal dies if another animal eats it. Humans are animals. It's a fact of life.
If you have such a problem with eating meat, you don't have to. Stop bitching about other people eating meat.
pdmahler 3 years ago

I'm not bitching about other people eating meat. =) I was a meat eater for the first 10 years of my life so I have no right to act all high and mighty. I'm just pointing out that when you said you're not hurting anything, it wasn't actually true.
And it's absolutely ridiculous to say that it's a fact of life. Humans now have the intelligence to develop meat substitutes where animals don't. So don't try to kid yourself that we are animals, too. We're not.
hmmmmm1988 3 years ago
Alsooo, the millions of vegetarians and vegans in the world are proof that we don't "need" the nutrients specifically from meat. [And not just people who took in those nutrients for 10 years, either].
But thanks for trying to make ME feel bad about NOT choosing to eat meat. =)
Keep enjoying being narrow minded and living in the past. Ciao!
hmmmmm1988 3 years ago
I always think it is funny when people who are misinformed try to inform other people. It happens on all sides of all issues but the meat argument is classic. I don't like to go too in depth online, especially on a youtube video, but i will point out that a fox hunting is nothing like humans mass consuming factory farmed meat 3-5 times a day. The environmental impact alone of this kind of consumption is destroying the world.
Nabis0100 3 years ago
Nabis, the same goes towards people who don't know what they or other people are talking about. I never mentioned fox hunting. I was talking about when foxes kill other animals. How does it hurt the world when other animals kill to eat? It's been going on WAY before humans came into the picture.
Of course there are some companies that may be going overboard, but whining about other people eating meat or guilting them is hardly going to change anything. Grow up.
pdmahler 3 years ago
Good job, I never said anything about fox hunting either. I said "a fox hunting" As in the animal hunting. Yeah its basic English.. hard I know. Also it is not "some companies" It is the majority of the meat industry that is out of line. I personally try to inform people and allow them to make the educated choice. PETA uses different tactics but that doesn't make them wrong. If you don't feel guilty about murdering animals for the pleasure of your taste buds then thats fine.
Nabis0100 3 years ago
Hm... you're right. You did say "a." I must have read over that. But my point remains, despite your attempts of language-insulting.
Read previous posts; not just mine, but from others as well. There are nutritional needs for eating meat. I'd imagine most people in the world don't consider the death of an animal as much of an outrage as you do. Your guilt attempts make you as bad, possibly worse than PETA.
pdmahler 3 years ago
If pointing out the environmental repercussions of over consumption makes people feel guilty then right on. It should. It's not just meat it is everything. Meat is just the easiest to stop using. Despite your very scholarly sources of "other people's comments on a youtube video there are thousands of health professionals who disagree and hundreds of thousands of vegans and vegetarians worldwide who are living examples that one does not need animal products to live healthy.
Nabis0100 3 years ago
Statistically vegetarians live longer, healthier lives than meat eaters. Most Americans get triple the amount of protein needed and vegetarians get double. Even if you are looking at genetics we are barley at the point of being able to consume animal products from an evolutionary standpoint. The human digestive system can't properly digest cows milk even in people who are not lactose intolerant. The list goes on. You sir are living on load of bullshit. Sorry to be harsh, but it pisses me off.
Nabis0100 3 years ago
If you want to live off that organic plant crap, then go ahead. For the record, I AM lactoce intolerant AND I live in Asia, and I still refuse to drink or eat anything tofu-related. I know it's healthy. I'll take my "loads of bullshit" any day over the self-righteous preaching you're trying to do.
And yes, I will clear-consciencously accept my role in the food chain for taste alone, even if it requires the death of an animal.
pdmahler 3 years ago

I'm just fine with fresh organic delicious vegan food.
Quite cute by the way how now it's me attacking poor little you and your simple "let me live" beliefs when you have all this time been condemning and attacking other peoples beliefs with your bullshit and ill informed opinions. I don't understand how it is so hard for people to just not tell everyone about things they do not know about. Stick to shit you acctually know about... bigot.
Nabis0100 3 years ago
Also not eating meat saves more gasoline than not driving a car. Not to mention vegetarians do not contribute to the rivers of shit and piss coming out of factory and dairy farms that clog up streams. I honestly do not consider any one who eats meat to be an environmentalist. I think you need to get out of your little world and realize that the bullshit that come off the top of your head is not reality. I know it's hard to live with, but sometimes you just don't know. =(
Nabis0100 3 years ago
Pdmahler, a person can have nutritional deficiencies whether they eat meat or not. There are certain nutritional needs that our bodies get from plants that you can't get from meat as well. Vitamin C and lycopene come to mind. Not saying that everyone should become a vegetarian, certainly not overnight, but the thing is when animals get food from other animals, they take only what they need, can't say the same thing about humans.
chiyerano 3 years ago
Well, I see that PETA wants animals to be treated like people, but has no problem with treating women like objects. Hypocrisy at its finest!
zallyn1 3 years ago 3
I wouldn't have minded a couple of beach boys in the video either.
Nothing wrong with sexuality; demonizing it is what really hurts women in our society. It's so...puritanical.

Men watch the Super Bowl more than women.
Men, especially the type who are into sports, don't like to watch scantily clad men.
That's just reality.
Keshira 3 years ago
Also, NBC has played many more "scandalous" ads than this when it comes to hot women.
It's the vegetables that got this rejected. The junk food companies don't want the competition. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them petitioned in the back rooms for this ad to be rejected.
Keshira 3 years ago
lol @ 'The junk food companies don't want the competition.' I didn't think those companies would be that bothered by this ad, Keshira. You may be right.
chiyerano 3 years ago
zallyn1: How is that hypocritical? Lmao. They're an animal rights group, they have nothing to do with womens rights.
hmmmmm1988 3 years ago
hmmmmm1988: If you want animals to be treated with respect, treat people with respect first. This ad does not follow that at all.
Keshira: No, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want my hypothetical kids seeing women practically putting asparagus inside themselves. It's not the veggies that are the problem, it's where they're putting them.
zallyn1 3 years ago 2
Yes, because you just made that up. =S Why should the ad follow that? That's YOUR opinion, not theirs.
I'm trying to tell you that they are not being hypocritical because the rights of women is a totally separate topic.
Yes, I am against objectifying women. Yes, I feel strongly about animal welfare/vegetarianism. But neither has anything to do with the other.

PETA euthanizes 70% of the animals it takes form kill shelters.
That means they kill them.
PETA can suck a dick.
homsar19 3 years ago
And if PETA didn't take them 100% would be euthanized.
It's not PETA's fault that people aren't responsible with their pets.
Keshira 3 years ago
That may very well be true, but for a group that preaches complete animal rights, taking in more animals than they can take care of just to look like heroes is not only hypocritical, it is just a downright shitty thing to do.
I repeat, PETA can suck a dick.

Some people actual help because they care, and overextend themselves because it's better than doing nothing.
I suppose that's hard for you to understand.
Keshira 3 years ago
Maybe NBC rejected the ad because it was too sexual. Maybe they rejected the ad because PETA is an organization of misanthropic fools who compare the plight of the Jews under National Socialism to the "suffering" of chickens in cages (I actually saw a brochure of theirs making this comparison).
Either way, good for NBC.

twiztidplaya78 3 years ago
You don't think chickens can suffer?
Keshira 3 years ago
Do they feel pain? Probably. But do they "suffer" in any real sense of the word? I don't think so. The point of my comment was that comparing chickens in cages to the human victims of death camps is horribly callous and suggests serious moral confusion.
scassarino 3 years ago
The fact is that in both situations, people were aware of and selectively ignored cruel, torturous conditions in the lives of others, in order to enjoy a benefit for themselves: in this case, the pleasure of eating meat, and in the case of the Jews, the pleasure of belonging to the "superior Aryan" community.
That the "others" in this case are a different species obviously means the magnitude of the crime is less. The PETA members I know understand this and are not "morally confused."

Suffering really isn't that high of an order of emotion. Babies can't articulate their emotions, but I am sure if they put in the conditions some of these farm animals suffer, they would feel similar emotions, and be similarly unable to express them.

what have chickens ever done expect be deleicous

I don't get it. How does eating vegetables make animals ethically treated? An animal could still be abused in someone's house regardless if I'm crunching carrots.
And how exactly does one determine if someone is having better sex? :/
BaniMaid 3 years ago
P.E.T.A. doesn't stress Domestic Animal Abuse that much, A.S.P.C.A. really covers that, P.E.T.A. aims for Lab Testing, Farm Animals, and Wild Animals. And for future reference, the Animal Liberation Front are the ones who take action...
