  • I owned one. Berry needs more experience on the machine to truly evaluate it properly. Great machines, reliable, quick. BMW R90s better at overtaking at speed, though

Berry is a pain in the arse on Talksport. Got no idea how the world works. Well, he is a motoring journo

  • I bought my 1975 Z-1b at 9 years old with 3400 miles on it.. Put over 40000 miles on it and enjoyed every mile..

82 hp.. faster than the second fastest bike , Gold Wing , in the quarter by over 1/2 a second..

    I loved that bike..

    The Original Chrome JackHammer..

Fortunately I am still here to Rant about it..

Never caught by the Po Po either..

I really loved the throaty sound at 3500 rpm.. coming from the air box..

  • @TheDalk brilliant weren't they? If only they'd bring em back

  • I thought this is about the BMW Z1 and then i get this shite rice bike here! im pissed

  • @sharpanator

same for me, but I'm delighted.

  • Only homos do burnouts

  • This is a blast from the past. I was looking for a Z1 when this was shown and ended up buy this particular bike a few days later.

I loved it so don't care what others might say.

Sold it 'cos the roads around my home are shit and the bike was still stunning when I off-loaded it. The swansong was a ride around the Alps.

Thanks for putting this on youtube.

  • Nice bike but the speedo gauge face is the wrong year style, 73...that's a z1a the dude rebuilt

  • i love brit steel! but i still want one of those jap bikes for shits and giggls.

  • Why all this BLAA;BLAA;BLAAA!?

  • Norton 850 Commando 51 BHP @ 6250 rpm

    Kawasaki Z1 82 BHP @ 8500 rpm

I know which one I'd be riding down the drag strip!!!!

  • @retrostuff1 The Commando was as quick over the standing quarter

  • The Norton handled better and was as quicker over the 1/4 mile as the K1.

This bloke doesn'r know what he's talking about

Reliability and the ability to place mass produced bikes bikes on the road cheaply and no protection from Gov't is what happened!

  • @alanbstard4 "Reliability and the ability to place mass produced bikes on the road cheaply and no protection from Gov't is what happened!"

You missed out the word "modern". The British bikes of 10 years prior to the Z1 were as good as the Japanese bikes of 10 years prior, often better in many ways.

But the British stood still, for reasons speculated a thousand times over. I first started biking in this very era. In the showrooms of the time, ALL British bikes looked like museum pieces.

  • @CodeTwo2 Laverdas were great too. I had the Jota as well as the Z1. Brilliant both of them

  • @CodeTwo2 yes but still a pity the British industry failed

  • Luvly bike..twat presenter

  • Thanks for sharing this clip. Z1 is without doubt one of the most beautiful bikes ever .... and despite what Berry implies ZRXs are, to my mind, quite easy on the eye too.

  • Steve Berry is such a TWAT,manc fucker,British bikes suffered from bad management, and investment..We dont need reminding by a twat.like Berry...

  • @SpeedTriple59 Berry is the ultimate fuckwit. Talksport radio proves that

  • isnt it the english language?

  • cause zed is correct?????

  • A better question would be "why do Americans say 'Zeee?'" The Brits were speaking the language first, so us Americans would be the ones who are out of line, if anyone.

  • Nice one Stalker

  • Nice one Stalker.
