  • ten people were crying so much that they missed the like button

  • This was one of my favorite scenes from this movie. Mickey Rourke definitely shined in this scene.

  • I Love this scene. It shows that even the most harcore guys can have feelings

  • It confuses me that people find this an amazing scene... it simply isn't.

Both characters aren't developed enough yet and don't have a strong relationship (yet) and suddenly they're having this emotional chat about something that happened years ago, that we don't know anything about.

My hero, Mickey Rourke, still manages to put down a strong performance, but other than that this was just a complete laugh. Bad, bad filmmaking... the scene dropped out of nowhere.

  • The greatest scene in this movie!

  • @houghton123able I agree. This scene is on a whole nother level....

  • I thought he was crying a lot more in this scene. Like, comically so. I guess not.

  • On the whole, I was very disappointed with this movie, but I loved Mickey Rourke, especially in this scene.

  • sljivovica is not shit...

  • Perfect.

  • i´m sure he was thinking on his exwife, carre otthis while he was making this scene. really sure

  • @Cruiman24 Carre Otis* you mean?

  • @WaspSnG do you know her ?

  • @Cruiman24 Well I know that that's her real name and not Otthis. Other than that, I have no clue who she is or what she does...

  • @WaspSnG : oh yeah, big difference Ottis - Otthis. in the real life you act like this ? poor peple around u...

  • @Cruiman24 ??!!

Why are you mad man? :S You make a mistake right, I just correct you, that's all...

If someone would say that he liked "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" with Brad Pett or something, than you would correct him on that to, right?

No need to get pissed. :S

  • @WaspSnG if you are fussy with everything, its not my problem man

  • Mickey rourke..what a performer..

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, that was deep!

  • Why this guy doesn't has an oscar I will never know.

  • didn't love this movie. didn't hate it. but when i left the theater this scene was clear in my mind. mickey rourke forever!

  • does anyone know if rourke will be in the expendables 2?

  • @tebowingisanart No. He'll be missing in action :). But we're gonna have JCVD AND Chuck Norris!!

  • @rychietim And Boykaaaa

  • Very deep scene

  • you can see at the end how Stalone was about to cry out some real tears.. remarkable scene, totally love it!

  • WHY u hate Serbs !?!?!? we never did nothing to America...

  • @RelapseMan12 Who gives a shit? Its not about war, they are mercenaries. People who kill for money. It has NOTHING to do with America hating the Serbs.

  • Great scene!!!!!!! I love how sly put this in!!!!

  • best part of the movie lol

  • i saw this movie in theatres and i said to myself, "whats real acting doing in this movie?" this is one of my favorite scenes in movies, period.

  • this scene proves again, that Mickey Rourke deserves a goddamn Oscar

  • this is the bomb. completly outta left field. exactly whats needed these days

  • This scene made the movie

  • @grimmer2005 Don't worry, Mickey forgive you :)

  • What the fuck does a scene that good doing in a movie like this?

  • Mickey uses his dark and troubled past to make scenes like this memorable. He truly is the underdog of Hollywood and that's why we love him.

  • 2:13 wow great badass actor Mickey Rourke

  • believe that slivovica is very good bottle

  • As everyone says - not the greatest movie in the world - but this has to hit you deep somewhere.

  • God damn Dracula black

  • 2:10 - 2:16 is the best scene of the movie....he couldn't talk after this memory

  • @MrLesbianMusic well, so is your nickname, but who am I to judge...:)

  • @rychietim Mrlesbianmusic...He surely got a nice name...

  • @MrLesbianMusic moron

  • Yeah this shit doesnt make sense. Its just random babbling.

  • geniaal

  • He's a bit of a pretentious shit.

  • nobody can act like mickey

    nobody

  • ANd fucking critics gave the film 45/100 after a scene like this. I hate living in a world where herry fuckin potter gets better reviews than this movie...

  • @bozitojugg3rn4ut This scene was the only good part in the movie. "Herry" Potter is a better action movie, at least you can see what the hell's going on. Mickey deserved better.

  • does anyone have the subtitles for this ? i wanna learn it by heart

  • @Ionjohn English subtitle is available. Just press cc.

  • @rychietim lol sorry for bothering you thanks for fast answering !

  • This monolugue is torturous. The darkness that permeates every part of his being is bone chilling.

  • wow, oh wow

  • My mother is from Bosnia and this monologue tears at my heart every time i watch it

  • "If I might have saved that woman, I might have saved what was left of my soul"

    Gets me every time.

  • This scene with Mickey Rourke is what made me categorize the movie from good to great! I was completely taken by surprise with this scene and with the amount of emotion Rourke gives to it.

  • @CIOlson08 Mickey Rourke, if you watch many movies that he's been, it's practically his trademark to have very Introspective, thought provioking scenes with monologues like this in them. Almost every movie that I've seen him in has at least one scene like this.

  • 8 people bites the dust, brother!

  • I watched this film because I wanted to see action and violence ....... But this scene takes my breath away and surprisingly I like this movie because of this scene

  • Serb bad boys! Pffft, of course! We drink "Silwitz" a lot! We feel no pain :)

  • 8 People are expendable

  • Thank you for posting this scene. My favorite part of the movie. Absolutely heartbreaking.

  • lol desperate oscar begging.

  • i like how stallone just walks away awkwardly

  • So moving! Even stallone had to leave to go and cry at the end.

  • That bottle of local shit called SLIVOVICA! Slivovica, mr. Rourke. :))

  • SERBS OWN ALL

  • i cant believe this is the same mickey that came out in the movie a prayer for the dying dude looks too different

  • I love this actor!

  • action action action action action action BAM OSCAR MATERIAL action action action action action

  • This is my personal favorite movie of 2010! Sly Stallone is real genius and the best action star ever. You can really feel the atmosphere of old good 80's and 90's. It was awesome to see Stallone, Statham, Lundgren, Austin, Li, Crews, Couture, Roberts, Rourke, Daniels in one film. Statham and Charisma Carpenter made a very beautiful and hot screen couple. Now I hope Willis and Schwarzenegger will get more screen time in the future sequels. Also it would be great to see Sandra Bullock in it

  • Mickey Rourke has CGI abs in Iron man

  • Laughed all the way through this scene at the cinema, but then people started giving me funny looks and I realised it was actually meant to be a sad scene.

  • @ThePotatoInfestation you're an idiot

  • yow know wht i did men? i just turn aroud and kept walking....

  • Fuck you Mickey ,sljvovitca is not shit !

  • "Dracula Black"....not "directly to black"

  • and fuck all those gays that think this is a bad movie!!!!

  • well i can only say two words: fuck you!!!!!

god damed saro87 if you dont realice that this scene and this movie its problably one the best acion mvovies ever made and you probably are a fucking old man taht nobody cares for or a fucking gay that cryes with drama movies, mickey rourke its a terrific actor!!!!! he has old style the good style learn that you mother fucke cock sucker bitch!!!

  • @saro87 I understand from your comment that you were never in a war, probably never a Soildier or Marine either.

Many people come home from thoes battles changed. Some even trying to find a way to save whats left of their souls. No one ever talks about it, and they just did. He brought left to the scene in a way few people could.

  • @sagequan i understand your opinion and its respectable not like the one from the other fucker but i desagre me because i ones had an uncle that wan in WW2 and he always told me his experinces in the field because take in count taht not every one gets hurt or changed like you said the same way, some people can resist to share their xperience to som people, and another thing mickey or tool in the movie is telling that to his comrad not to some random people that very diferent

  • Best acting scene in the whole movie

  • was really disappointed by this movie, but i really really loved this scene. Reminded me of Metal Gear Solid haha, no specific game but just the whole feel of the monologue

  • Pretty much the only acting in the movie that had great depth

  • The only good part of the entire friggin movie!

  • if this isn't authentcial i'll give an oscar to mickey rourke...I'm feelin u....

  • epic...and great...

  • I really liked this from the movie. Rourke's slight facial twitches and the way he delivered those lines, I truly felt for his character. Great job.

  • the closeup is hilarous

  • This is the best scene of the movie. Mickey Rourke is great!

  • My Favorite Scene In The Movie.

  • Does anyone know what the blue light is for or is just to look good on camera?

  • @testaccountmp

Pretty sure it was a neon light in the scene.

  • There was a girl that i loved her name was Jess and uh she was the best girlfriend I ever had and I changed her from a good girl to a bad girl and now shes lost to me, so I understand what mickey saying

  • 5 people don't have soul.

  • I never cared much for Mickey, but just the even short 5 min role he had in this movie, made me realize how good an actor he actually is. What a great job in this scene.

  • Mickey Rourke is such a brilliant actor. The man can make any dialogue sound brilliant. He could bring gravitas and pathos to anything

  • I wept when i saw this scene, had a similar experience in west africa with a small child. Rourke is right when he says it will eat your soul. Not a day goes by without that child in my mind.

  • Best monologue ever !!

  • For The Expendables 2, I want the same entire cast in it, especially Dolph Lundgren.

  • I feel his pain. I cried when I saw this...

  • What can I say? Mickey Rules!

  • He scared the shit out of me in Iron Man 2.

  • mickey rourke at his best.... damn.... says a fuckton about the darkness that creeps into a soldiers heart

  • this is a simply amazing monologue. totally took me off guard when i first saw this movie

  • Where can I find the song of this video ?

  • @ByeByeBlackbirdJoke The song is on the exspandables soundtrack. It is #8 titled

    confession

  • @blackjack427r Thanks very much !! :D

  • I am in the Army and I under stand this. I did cry. I know what this means. I have been to Bosnia and Kosavo. Know what it is like to have the cance to save some one and not do it.

  • @blackjack427r much respect brother

  • Hey! Sliwowitz isn't that bad!

  • I cannot stop watching this. His acting is masterful. It's so out of place in the movie but beautifully shot. Even with poor dialogue ("Dracula black") he still manages to come off powerful, believable, and emotional

  • Am I the only one who thought of Ronald Jenkees when I saw this?

  • serbs where heros by killing woman, children and all people.look what politics they hade with milosevic they paint serbia with red blood colour but thanks good BOSNIA won at the end!

  • @emiliopacino

Yeah. That's what the fairy tale says.

    The reality is completely opposite.

It was a proxy invasion using monsters like the one Rourke here is playing - creating colonies out of sovereign countries under propaganda of saving minorities.

He said it himself - he went out there believing in nothing and killed a lot of people, sent by corporations tied with government. He said it himself - yet you don't see it.

  • Rourke FTW

  • Wow he pretty much redefined the action hero in this one scene.

  • this was the favorite part of the movie for me, I cried :) posted on idea girl consulting word press, thanks 4 making this video!

  • Fuck the Pepsi fuck the Pizza all we need is Shlivovitza !

  • How I understand him. Not about war, suicide or something, but about my first love.... at 17 yearsold. If I wasnt stupid at that time.... i saved my soul 2..and real sentence of love, not just the relationship..... Now its gray social days.

  • Amazing work by Rourke.

  • Serb bad boys..... I like that.

  • @lobofaca707

It would've been nice if true, wouldn't it?

  • @rettie yeah well, they always make us look like bad guys, they just cant help it. Its cool if we were able to fuck the expendables

  • @lobofaca707

Let's not forget that we did. ;)

  • @rettie yeah, we roughed them up, they couldnt handle us, barely got out alive. Looks like they got lucky. haha Thats where Gunnar Jensen lost his mind, hes been psycho ever since.

  • Serb badboys = Vidic

  • Forget JCVD or Seagal...I want Mickey fucking Rourke to return for "The Expendables 2"!!!

  • @CesMan83 and use that knife on human targets :))

  • @rychietim

Oh, I know, right? It would be awesome if Sly allows Mickey to get into the action as well...plus, Tool, in my opinion, is the most complex character in the whole movie...to me, he's almost like the Expendables equivalent to Yoda, lol

  • @CesMan83 Totally. Rourke is a brilliant actor and all, but I wanted to see him get to kick some ass!

  • At the end Stallone is like "I'm such a bad actor - I'm not even going to ruin this perfect monologue with another terrible line" and walks off.

  • @CesMan83 Absolutely...Mickey Rourke is FANTASTIC actor.

  • @CesMan83 Absolutely...Mickey Rourke is FANTASTIC actor. I think I would like to see Steven Seagal in it though...:)

  • the best scene!

that and the one where hes tattooing Stallone and talking about dying next to a woman

Now thats what a REAL MAN says!

  • The toughest guys on earth!!! And then they met Serbs... XDDDDD

  • Rourke did an incredible job in this scene - he can go to places other actors don't even know exist. I wish, though, you hadn't captioned the dialogue on this - its distracting from his acting. You can understand what they're saying, and even if you don't make out every word it doesn't really matter. Rourke brought poetry to a hardcore action film - the guy is magic.

  • @92ninersboy well the captioning can always be disabled, I thought I will help people understand more of the dialogue.. if they'd needed it

  • @rychietim he says dracula black not directly to black

  • @rychietim Indeed, it helped. Thanks.

  • @92ninersboy Stop bitching about fucking captions and enjoy the fucking scene or find another video, Christ! Fucking Douche

  • @92ninersboy Agreed. As great as this film was, this scene shows that had Stallone inflicted The Expendables with the same heart and soul that he put into his recent 'Rocky Balboa' and 'Rambo' movies, this film would've been off the charts. For Expendables II I call for less comedy and more soul.

  • @92ninersboy As a foreigner, I wouldn't have been able to understand what Mickey's character was saying.

  • Just watched this awesome move!!!! Great actor!!!

    Greetings everybody from Croatia ;)

  • Woah.

I didn't expect this kind of acting when I saw it today. Nice scene :)

  • @brtoo

Get a brain and a soul. FAST!

  • @rettie

Shut up. It's my problem to get have a brain or a soul. ByeBye

  • @brtoo

    *yawn*

  • Mickey Rourke's face might not be easy on the eyes but this monologue is great.

  • This movie is about killing, shooting, fighting, guns etc etc. This is the only part where there is acting involved and boy Mickey does it well

  • Nice pipe.

  • sljivovica rules!
