Linux is freedom of choice, there are so many distros to fit the need of the user. Windows and Mac and just that Windows and mac, not much different. windows can upgrade all it wants and will still be windows. Linux is freedom for all, from viruses, activation, from sticking with one thing. with linux u can experiment with all the distros and see whats best for u

I can use windows and linux and mac. Linux is probably not going to be your favorite OS for regular use(unless you're just checking emails and surfing the web), but it is extremely helpful if you need to repair something that cannot be done using safe mode such as when the essential files and services that you need to run safe mode or a severe virus that interferes with safe mode operation.

Brief history. Unix was here before DOS. Bill Gates copied Unix code to make DOS. Linux is based on Unix and Linus is free. Bill had this dream to make money and that is Windows. So keep spending money to use Windows. You have to be computer literate to use Linux, so Windows is best for you. LOL!

That number most likely reflects usage by businesses and governments though. The number of home users is subsequently much much smaller.
