Also the safety regulations for drilling offshore in America is set by the American government, The rig was built to serve America's insatiable need for cheap oil and the company who installed and maintained the faulty failsafe pressure valve that is supposed to stop oil leaks was Cameron International, An American Company :)

It devastates us to see this, because we know how much it has damaged the wildlife and many Americans. To be fair, the employees did not work for BP and the safety regulations were not made by BP, it was just BP that owned the oil rig itself. BP's CEO tried to explain this but it was not fully understood. At least now BP, Britain and the world know how to avoid this disaster

I haven't fished the flats since the spill, and doubt that I ever will again. You fish for sport? I fish for support! For some of us down here, it's the only life we know. How do you tell a 55 year old fifth generation fisherman that he's got to learn a new trade? Trust me... not everyone has stopped talking
I further believe the new petroleum-consuming aquatic species mustn't harm their predators if eaten, mustn't pollute the water if physically split open, must have non-pollutant fecal matter, and must not emit pollutant material upon death/organic decay. A good start would be to experiment with genetically engineering integration of petroleum-consuming bacterial microorganisms into the fish/species digestive cycles. I will think more into this, and STRONGLY feel this is the most adequate solution
I ultimately believe as a scientist, the most logical cure to solve ALL oil spill crises, present and future, we will need to modify and/or create and breed a new aquatic species or fish which is safely capable of consuming and digesting petroleum directly from their immediate aquatic environment and eliminating it through their digestive processes. This will not be easy to accomplish, but with the diversity of aquatic specimen in totality we have to work with it may possibly be done.

Please rename this video, the oil spill was due to Halliburtons negligence, nothing to do with BP, Halliburton lied about the state of the well, and cut corners when cementing it in. So in fairness it should now read "Halliburton oil spill effect on wildlife"

The oil rig was owned by american's, the safety experts were american and the rig was crewed by american's.
Obama needed a scape goat so he blamed the British.

Hell, comparing the environmental damage and death toll to other species aside from us, this IS worse than 9/11. At least the majority of people there died relatively quickly. It's not like their skin is slowly being burned off by sludgy oil.

ixtox , mexican oil well spill went for 9 months in 1979, soaking the texas coast.
tanker spills in alaska.
many more spills in the middle east. and yet, the earth still spins, the environment recovers naturally, (as oil is a natural thing), and in ten years it will be hard to tell this spill occurred.
