I like this thing so much that I bought two of them. Excellent AWD system and handling. Premium interior, all the luxury design specifications you would expect from BMW. Great price too. Fantastic for NH winters.
Thumbs down for advertising the X3 as something its not .... sorry but its no off-roader :/ ... IF YOU WANT A REAL SUV GO BUY A REAL SUV - IF YOU DONT NEED TO GO OFF-ROAD THEN DONT BUY AN SUV!!! go buy a wagon save fuel, and get a better driving experience.
I can't see why you'd buy the X3 over the normal 3 series. The X3 is more expensive, less economical, less comfortable, much uglier, has a rubbish interior and is an affront to a brilliant badge. WHY?
The higher ground clearance is pointless, since it doesn't work off road. Bigger luggage space? The 3 series estate has pretty much the same. You say the 3 series is common, and yes it is. I won't deny that. But if you want exclusivity buy the Citroen C6, the Mazda 6MPS or the Mondeo ST220. They're better looking, and more exclusive than the X3. Plus they're A LOT more comfortable.
@NobleM15fan The higher ground clearence isnt pointless if you live in a country with shitty roads and/or snowy climate ... and if you still want a good handling car.
The gas mileage is pretty much the same since it shares its platform and engines with the 3 series ... and the overall weight is pretty much the same.
I find the interior of the X3 good if not better than that of the E90. Reminds me of the interiour of the E46 wich to me is pretty much the best looking interiour ever made.
They used a land rover to pull the x3 onto the snow and then used a range rover to pull it back off ;) X3/X5 cannot manage snow...
