That was only because it was going to be amazing, then the writers strike happened, and they had less than a week to write/film the last episode... and completely give up on the plot, and season 3 made up for most of it... Something that's got me, hiro thought ando killed him in the future... but now we know (if you watch back) he only supercharged him. Ultimate speedster = faster than light. Ultimate mindreader = millions of thoughts at once. Ultimate master of time and space = God?

Now think about this, Hiro saw ando supercharging him as a future to THIS SEASON, which is half over. They wouldn't show us that if hero wasn't going to get his powers back this season ;) Trust me, they're not going to keep powers away from the most popular hero on the show for long, it'll happen in volume 4.
