@clutchfan256 i think these guitars are great for heavy music to blues. the only thing about lp style guitars are single cutaway and access to the upper frets is tougher. but still great rockin guitars.
@bryansouza if you want to try something different like a great lp copy, then agile is a perfect place to start. they are a great guitar for the money. but i would go try some lp copies first. if you haven't already, go play an epi lp or something like that. since they may not be what you are used to scale wise and string spacing wise.
@bryansouza lol... i've been around the block for over 4 decades... so that officially makes me getting old. that would be the response i would think most teachers would advise. personally i'd get what i wanted if i were spending that. i think fenders are great but most are over priced unless you get a decent mim or something. if you are looking at this as investing in something that you will hang onto forever and maybe sell later for some money buy a fender...
hi are these stock pickups?? i know there's a version with seymour duncans SH1 '59 at the neck and a SH4b at the bridge it's called agile al 3000m, is this a regular agile al 3000 or that version with duncans on it?? planning to get an al 3000 but really don't if it's worth the money to buy the upgrade version because of duncans on it, how are the al 3000 pickups are they good pickups or should i go with the agile 3000m with duncans ??
try tokai les pauls thier more expensivre than epis but $800 will get you a guitar equal to if not better than gibson trust me i know wht im talking about
yes i've played the tokai lp's and they are nice. but if you have never tried one of these agiles (a al3000 or up) i would bet that you would be surprised. i have owned epi and gibby les pauls and have some now. i wouldn't say agile is going to blow away a nice gibby but it definitely does the epis and priced under $400. it's hard to beat the bang for the buck with the agile. thanks for the comment.
it's only my opinion. i think it beats it. ebony fingerboard, jumbo frets, bone nut, better tuners and i love the alnico v's. oh yeah and it's still cheaper even with a case! just my opinion and i do have now and have played many gibby lp's.
@bugabutu Les Paul standards NEVER cost $500 or $600. The cheapest Gibson Les Paul you can get is the studio wich go new from about $800 to $1200. A Les Paul standard starts at $2000. If you can afford only a copy at this moment, i would advice Agile al3000 is better than the Epiphone standard plus top. But if you can save up for a while and get a real Gibson Les Paul, i assure you you will never part with it...
@mindaflame7 sorry i meant a Les PAul epiphone (lol) anyways, i managed to snag an agile AL 3100 last year and still have it -the agile is a huge steal
yeah they are. just my opinion.. i would try an agile and if you don't like it send it back. but my guess is you'll love it. to me they play, look and feel better and cost less than the epis. but either way best of luck on deciding!
thanks for the quick response man. i will look into both of them. so far, it seems the agile is a hell of a better deal, and the cases are so cheeeaaap =DD lol.
yeah, the thing is though, i like to feel out my guitars before i buy em ya know? how much different does she feel than a regular LP? i'd probably get the model you're using actually....unless they had it in blue =D lol.
i understand. i felt the same way with the first one i bought. i think if you are ok with the lp neck, you will be ok with the al regular neck. some models are slim profile and i have 2 like that. and one is slimmer than the other. i think the regular necks are fine for comparing to an lp. they also have al models with a wide profile neck, more for shredding. for me i was amazed enough by my first purchase that i bought more. best of luck dude!
they do unless you have big temperature swings where you're playing. i can play at home at it stays fine. if i play out, once it aclimates to the cold or hot it stays in tune fine. the rootbeer looks way better in person too. if you haven't every tried one of these, you should check them out. the 3000 models to me are the best bang for the buck. you will be amazed at what you get for the money.
I have an AL3000 Rootbeer, AL3000 Cherry Sunburst, AL3000 Spalted Mapel, AL2800 Blue Quilt Uniform Profile, AD3000 Tribal Blue and a Valkyrie Doubleneck (White) and I love every one of them!
to much tube for my taste

so like, if a les paul standard around $500 or $600... does the agile beat it? match it? or... loses?

Well, Gibson are expensive, so pretty much all the other brands are much cheaper and better.

not sure whether to go for this exact model, or an epiphone les paul standard plain top....because the plus tops are just ridiculously over priced.
