  • The LV Monorail is a great way to get from one end of the Strip to the other if you're not too lazy to walk through a casino to get to it.

If you don't like it, go ahead and take the bus on the Strip and be stuck in traffic or waiting on some idiot to come up with the money for his ticket.

  • @BangkokBoy101 Thanks for your suggestions! Just visited LV over the weekend ... beautiful weather for the holidays including New Years!

  • make it go along the median of the strip from mandalay to wynn, cut the fare costs by half, and make the hotel owners divide the costs up for building the line. Voila!

  • It's like a yaght on tracks!!

  • definatly the only way to travel the strip on a budget.. i think 28 bucks for a week or 12 bucks a day..

  • Doomed from the start, now bankrupt.

  • @cblondefox

Except last I checked they're making sufficient revenues to cover costs and pay a portion of the debt, the problem is that they aren't paying the debt fast enough thus the chapter 11 filing.

It doesn't mean they're completely failed and it sure as hell doesn't mean that they're going out of business especially considering that they're still planning on the airport extension.

If this was a government transit program we'd be hearing about how fantastically well it's doing considering that it PAYS FOR ITSELF.

  • do the Mark ViI's really come w/o A/C in the middle cars or did Disneyland just get unlucky w/ the Mark VII's they bought

  • I think Disney got unlucky. I seem to remember reading they couldn't get the AC working reliably. I was there this past July and it wasn't that bad, but they did have a notice if the temp went too high (I think 96 degrees), the monorail closes.

The only AC on those trains are for the pilots.

  • disney deisnes every detail of the train

  • @caltrain2 Wrong. The design was done in Kingston Ontario Canada. The only common part is the bearing grease. I helped on the design done by Bombardier.

  • @scottman624 you are right! i don't remember posting that comment. but what i think i ment was its is based on the current disney mark vi monorails in florida.

  • didn't Las Vegas get one of Disney's Monorails? I seem to recall reading somewhere that they bought an old one from them

  • MGM and Bally's bought 2 of WDW's old Mark IV monorails and had a line built between their resorts. That is part of this system, with new Mark VII Monorails built by Bombadier.

  • What the hell is this?

  • Sin city on the fast lane!

  • @raymuser What did you invent.?

  • @raymuser The monorail is a piece of shit
