  • Sorta cool, but seems kinda pointless, especially when its so blurry and ugly looking. any real practical purposes?

  • totaly cool

  • (2 of 2) In this case once there is water between electrode and piece you have inmediately a current (because of salt) and that current is interacting with all involved surfaces (as oposed to EDM) loosing control of the real shape that is desired. As somebody said this is electrolisis and it is useless to do any precise job. Because manual EDM is quite impossible unless you have eternal time to do the job, sald was the the way to see results but turned EDM into something ese.

  • (1 of 2)This is not EDM. EDM is based on a spark that will only happen when tool and piece are very close together and it requires a non conducting fluid. The spark will "erode" only what is very close to the tool. It will not interact with the rest of the piece. Doing manual EDM without detecting discharge and short circuit, and moving the tool back and forth with a stepper motor or the like seems almost impossible to do with this drill.

  • @tmagdahl He's not doing EDM, nor did he claim to be.

  • Nothing new here whatsoever. They've been using a similar process called electrical discharge machining for decades. It uses a thin oil instead of saltwater so it doesn't corrode the metal and a carbon sinilar to pencil lead for the electrode.

  • did i mention he is Greek ? Greeks invented science.

  • And Greeks invented mentioning at every occasion that this has something to do with Greeks, even when only to annoy people. :P

  • hahaha

  • piece!

  • science is a that greek watch maker invented the wheel bearing differential that formula 1 is using and actually stole it from him , also science is that the same guy invented an antigravity machine .

  • its sad that people are guided by the media including myself.

  • now pretend you didn't hear that from me

  • steelplate positive and peace-ring negative ?

  • Wow Ive always wanted to make peice signs in metal washers.

  • haha

  • me too...

  • very good instructional clip. fucking brilliant.

  • who would even wanna waste there time doin this

  • what a pole smoker

  • That is really cool!

I have a lathe and any new technique for making shapes is appreciated by me.

  • Well It's better if you made tips sharper/thinner.

  • a tip, Don´t display your inventions untill they actually work.

  • Moron... he's giving a lesson here. He's not showing an art project.

  • Lesson in what? How to do a halvefinished job? You´re the fucking moron!

  • It's called SCIENCE! Now go back to sleep, crack smoking, car jacking, knocking over liquor stores or whatever it is you do.

  • learn to spell half before you start calling other people morons fucking twat

  • lol

  • I don't understand why americans don't just use metric you could say nano or pico metres instead of 1/1000". Video was very interesting.

  • cuz then we would think he was talkin ipods :(

  • @DAIGORO14 im american. and i completely agree.

  • @DAIGORO14 Why do Scots use "Stone" for 13#, why does the chicken cross the road?

  • @DAIGORO14 When machining in metric, measurements are in mm followed by 1/10 and 1/100. So if you want to keep something 0.001" away from something you would need to keep it 0.025 mm away. The advantage of metric is when converting units.

  • hello everyone

  • Shit video.

  • I care.

    Racist.

  • Spark Erosion A-Team style

  • very UNCOMMON COMPARED TO EDM

EDM is much more practical and in pretty high use. sink or wire type.

kind of a crappy vid because this is a crappy way to of "die sinking".

    next do a DIY EDM.

  • Very nice video...finally something that could really be useful. Nice discovery man, gratz.

  • What happens if u touch it?

  • short circuit and spark?

  • Probably nothing, since it's only 12V.

  • I did not know that. Amazing when you think about it, maybe he is background research for Macgyver.

  • One must laugh at the negaitve and useless remarks left by some about this video. At least they have searched and looked at the video, hopefully they have learnt something useful, but then again don't hold your breathe.

  • cool...awesome..amazing...lame...nerd..

  • 2 words

    who cares

  • it's just electrolisis... by the way looking it i got some ideas, like how to edge some pieces

  • This is AWESOME!

  • I like it when you say bubbles.

  • cool!!

  • Brilliant.

  • nice one!

  • vale verga

  • Its electroplating in reverse.

  • You're hydrolyzing hydrogen gas with the risk of a spark? Kids, don't try this at home.

  • the amount of gas that is within range to enlight is very very low you'd have to use this for days in a small and closed room to get a dangerous amount together.

  • AWESOME.

  • ytyrt

  • Come back when you can get it done 100%......fuck the half way house......!

  • I wish I had a penny for every view....... I would have 1200 dollars

  • id have 17610 dollars

  • could you use....say.....a smiley face,or a star for instance?

  • Very nice experiment. It is very knowledgeable.

  • very nice.

  • Could this be done to brass as apposed to steel?

  • dude dont say its impossible to do these shapes without this method. u can use cnc machines to do these jobs for ya without having to make the stamp physically or you can punch the shape in with force.

  • Great... so how do we apply this to anything in our lives? lol

  • Use your imagination silly!

  • a bit too much time on yer hands mate

  • whos wasting more time? the person making the videos? or the person watching them and posting useless comments like you just did.

  • the person making the vid of course :O)) this takes no time at all as you are quite clearly aware :O))

  • Oh and work on your grammar will you? I mean it is a little embarrassing really :O))

  • that was a useless comment, this isn't because i am using it to make fun of u.............

  • wowoowwowow

  • /watch?v=EHneQozsKAg

    /watch?v=EHneQozsKAg

    /watch?v=EHneQozsKAg

    WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATCHHHH !!!!!

  • aaand the meaning with this is ...

  • what i need to say? -.-

  • dunno, maybe tell us that you've understood the whole process?

  • woow this is gay:(

  • nice...now i can print peace signs allover my mom's car

  • koolio

  • Great demo of simple effective metal removal. Thanks!

  • Good example of electro-chemical machining.

    Well done.

  • oooh cool
