  • well, what do you know. you DID review it.

  • You don't deserve to own that album fucking elitist, YoureWrongImRight?....

  • i dont quite know why but this review is hilarious. Love the record though.

  • ahaha quit moving the cd around you drippy glop of barbasol

  • You motherfucker.

You just won insult of the week.

    God damnit.

  • 3/5? u sukkkk ;_;

haha this is probably my favorite album of this current decade! words can't even describe how much i love it and i'll probably be listening to it for the rest of my life, nice review anyways (:

  • Dude, don't let my rating fool you, I liked this album, I just felt some parts could have been fleshed out more, know what I mean.

Have you ever listened to Tim Hecker ? His shit is chill and expansive sounding like these dogs !

  • of course i love hecker! i'm really into this droney kinda thing: sam goldberg, sun araw, stars of the lid, robedoor, etc. it's all great shit.

  • I just though I'd check. Tim Hecker rules my world. Stars of Lid are superb as well.

I'll have to look up the rest on your mini list.

  • word, dude. definitely one of the best albums of the year

  • Ambient tends not to feature loud buzzing noises and "OMMMMMMM!!!!!!" vocals.

So yeah, a tip: Ambient doesn't mean "not metal".

  • Emeralds is not metal.

Ambient music can go " OooOOommMM" if it's cranked to 10.

    Experimental / ambient.

  • I know it's not metal, but a lot of people seem to think ambient is anything without guitars and vocals or that sounds "strange".

Ambient usually has no percussion at all, just soft drones or melody. Brian Eno, Thomas Koener, Stars of the Lid, etc.

Anyway I'll stop lecturing you now. :/

  • Emeralds most definitely have some ambient qualities to their music, albeit not 100% prevalent in their sound.

They did incorporate many quiet, lush, spacey drones and whimsical bleeps and bloops.

    Experimental / ambient.

  • you got good taste.

  • I just like checking out weird underground stuff.

  • I'm seriously going to check this out!

  • It does have lots of re-listenability because the music has so many subtleties, you can't catch everything the first time around.

  • kind of like Burial's epynomous debut album or Fuck buttons "Street Horissing" you find a new thing everytime you listen to it.

  • Wow this is really good!

  • Yeah, it was a nice, unusual listen.

Very spacey and chill, maybe slightly mind altering.

I decided to check this out because James Plotkin had a hand in making it.
