@MrClassy1991 Perhaps with virtualbox, but IT shoud be slow... Unfortunately it's not a capacitive screen, only resistive.

How did you get it running so fast? I wiped the whole drive on mine, put a fresh load of 7 Ultimate on it, installed all drivers and microsoft updates but at no point did it run as fast as yours is. Have you managed to upgrade the RAM somehow? It just seems to lag so much on mine with any edition of windows 7.

For now I have put XP Pro on mine which works amazingly well, it's about the same speed as yours is with 7.

What speed CPU does yours have?

archos 5 is better since that one has a 2,5inch hard drive while the archos 9 has a 1,8(2.5 goes up to 750gb) the 1,8 goes up to 240gb.

@luvinzunigaduzt If you are techician I know it's possible to change the original hard drive to SSD for example. You can use an external 2,5" hard drive with USB port too.

Nice video I just bought an archos 9 and Im very pleased with it. Sure its a little slow but even with the windows 7 starter Im able to do what I want and need. I also found a program that changes my desk top. I really like this better than my android pad.

how's your battery life ? Because out of the box I heard it only runs about 2 to 3 hours.. and what about now, even with aero activated ?

I'm thinking about buying this device (because it only costs about 300-350€, compare to the iPad for 499€ with only 16gb..), would do a ram upgrade to 2 gb of course.

What about UMTS ? Is it already included or do we have to use usb sticks for that ?

Ne rêvez pas, cette tablette de merde ne fonctionne pas comme sur la vidéo. Je l'ai reçu ce matin et je suis déjà en train de le réemballer son dans papier cul d'origine. Le tactile est pitoyable, il faut appuyer avec les poings, même recalibré ça clique à côté, impensable de faire fonctionner des programmes comme winamp sans le stylet vu la précision. Il faut limite être défoncé pour cliquer au bon endroit sans se gourer.

@gamerguy12345 The touch screen is not very responsive (resistive and monopoint screen), you need to make a small pression on the screen to use it.

If you don't need windows OS, you can consider the new Android tablets like Archos 7 IT or Archos 101 IT with better touchscreen (multitouch and capacitive screen). I plan to buy the Archos 101 when it will be available ;o)

And why there are people that want to replace windows 7 with macos?The WHOLE POINT is that it has windows so you can install or use millions of programs there.Thats the thing the Ipad is lacking.If I get it I ll use ultimate too (using em on my desktop atm). Also in the official review from Archos it points out that 3g usb sticks work, also you can connect via bluetooth and your 3g cellphoneto the net.

I don't try it, but the Archos 9 is a true PC so I think you could install MacOS 10.6 with some freewares with a bootable USB key. You will need a touchscreen driver, a virtual keyboard too but I don't know if you could use the webcam... ^^

@michael10662 You need an ISO file version of Windows 7. Just transfer it to your USB key wirh a tool like WinToFlash. Reboot the Archos 9 with this new bootable USB key : the Windows 7 installer will start... :-)
