Any gamer who doesn't respect Miyamoto isn't a gamer, we wouldn't have video game as we know them today without Miyamoto, No Playstation, No Nintendo, No Xbox.

Without Miyamoto making Donkey Kong, Nintendo would have never made it to the states with the NES, and the video game industry was on the verge of crashing alltogether.

That is giving him too much credit, no doubt about the fact that Miyamoto contributed a lot to the gaming world. People easily overlook Atari 2600, which came out almost a decade before NES.

You are missing the point in my statement. You were talking about how without Miyamoto there is no Nintendo/PS and other consoles. I mentioned Atari 2600 because it was one of the first major consoles to hit it big in homes. Yes the Odyssey did come out few years before but atari 2600 was a console that can be said to have paved the way for home console gaming. As far as the crash goes Atari was a big part of it but they themselves were not 100% to blame.

If you were to say without Miyamoto we wouldn't have some of the legendary game characters like Luigi,Donkey Kong, Mario, Link and so on i would have to agree, but to say without him we wouldn't have some of the consoles that we do have i would have to disagree. There were gaming pioneers before Miyamoto, He contributed big time to the gaming world. People always overlook the steps that came before. Whether it was pong or Pac-Man or pinball machines.

The creator of Mario and a major influence on the video game industry after Atari. I was a kid in the 1980's and was a fan of Super Mario One and Two (based on another game still fun though). Then onwards... 1990's Super Mario 3 (in the USA)... then Super Mario World for the Super NES (one of the best consoles ever). Then... Yoshi's Island. Seriously very, VERY GOOD and creative ... ah, Yoshi's Island. Could have used the Super FX chip for a few years there...

Games are meant to be a challenge, not an "introduction". Come on, people will play games and people won't, that's the fact of life. Most people picking up wii fit barely use it anyway. It's used once or twice in a week and eventually...in the close it goes next to the twister game and sparkle shoes from 1st grade.

I don't play games my son does, having the ability to join and support him has meant a lot to me and helped to make another person that doesn'y game game with someone they care about.
