@yomamaspetbeaver Vulcanized is a form of construction - where they add sulfur and alot of pressure to make the rubber more durable...you'll notice vulcanized construction in some skate shoes and most recognized with Converse's Chuck Taylors...basicly - it's pretty stinkin' durable :o)

Probably my favorite shoes to skate in so far. Worn two pairs down to my toes but i've owned a total of four pairs of these. Just got Vans Half Cabs and they're more comfortable but I haven't skated them yet because of a sprained ankle. Hsus are amazing though.

can someone explain the difference between vulcanized and cup sole shoes

vulcanized soles are usually thinner, more flexible and provide better board feel. the sole is usually melted or glued together in layers. cupsoles are usually stitched on and a little thicker. they tend to last longer too. :) hope that helps.

thanks, i've had 3 vulcanized Globe shoes and the toes grind down so fast, so perhaps cup soles might last longer

i dont care if they rip easily thats what shoe glue if for i suggest before skating them apply thin layers of clear shoe glue on the gum area of where you flick for your tricks and they will last longer than you'll think!
