These are big tunes indeed. What a track and I just wish we has kept to this style of reggae along with lovers. This music is the best class this side of the galaxy. So people I beg you stick with the only music, peace and love that matters. Jah music. Jah guidance and protection to you all.
One of the best roots vocal bands ever!! And also never got the full respect they deserved! Indeed, I must agree, "drift away from evil" is one of the best roots albums ever produced! Peter
Hey Mikige1 I'm pretty sure there's a sound recording on the internet somewhere of an early 1980s Jah Shaka session where this song was being played. I heard it once.
The bass line to this tune would have been one of Jah Shaka's theme tunes. most big sounds would have had to drop this tune early to get one over on the other sound, so if you come dance late...then you missed this riddm. Daddy Kools Londdon, sold a lorry load of this dub.
"she's the queeeeeeen of the ghetto" she lives in the heart of the city, down there where there is no pity...... are we talking the 1982 version here? if so, then i'm your man wid the 12" version.
I love this song. I once had the album that it was on "drift away from evil" and this is now hard to get, seen one on E bay very expensive. I managed to get MR Bossman though on E bay on 7 inch + DUB yesterday. A great REGGAE band indeed. Another song that is impossible to get is John Holts " queen of the ghetto" not Ghetto queen. If anyone can help; thanks.

You had to have nuff headroom to play the bassline and kick drum without distortion on this tune.
Linval Thompson's version had better lyrics but this had the better riddim.
