In regards to AE, it depends on how soon Capcom releases the DLC, keep in mind Super came out in April and it was still made the Main Event for this past year's Evo despite only being a few months away.

i would still like SOME SORT of match analysis even if its not in every episode. i think it definitely help players when you point out good and bad decisions, and good and bad habits when playing a match.

as far as arcade edition goes, i believe that as long as AE is not slated to be released for consoles, dont grind it to play it competitively. play it for fun at the moment.

but i dont see AE never being released on consoles eventually. it'll come sooner or later.

I don't think anybody who's really seriously competitive in the U.S. is going to switch over to AE until there's a reason to. That's all I have to say...I'm in the Midwest so I have no chance of playing it until console release anyway.

The new format is awesome btw. I wouldn't totally scrap the match analysis though. I really enjoyed those, especially when you have guests. You guys have done an awesome job of upping production quality while still providing quality content.

AE is still Super but with minor mods. A DLC is certainly going to happen very soon... I agree, Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma shouldnt really be in the game. Ryu is already godlike in Super so it'll be annoying to have another ryu. and Akuma is already weak as shit, so adding Shin Akuma which will be stronger and weaker kind of sucks. They should have branched out and got different characters... :/

@blingo9x As the video stated: Daigo likes to play american tournaments, which means since SSF4 AE will be Japan only for awhile, that makes everywhere else in the world only have SSF4, so only our tournaments will be SSF4.

That's fine if some people don't want to play the game due to its scarce accessibility, but I would guess that the game may still be at Evo 2k11. Several states didn't have arcade cabinets for vanilla SF4 and the console version wasn't released until Feb. Also, Evo 2k9 happened in July. SSF4 was released in April and Evo for that game happened in July. Given that trend I would expect Evo to have AE, but I wouldn't be surprised if the date its held to centers around AE being released on console.

As for the tournament scene surrounding Super and AE, it's true. Because the DLC won't be coming out for this game anytime soon ( or at all ) its kinda pointless to learn the new game until everyone has possession of it, that way everyone has a clean slate as oppose to one having the advantage of another.

I think it's pretty much certain that AE will come out as DLC, it has been hinted at so strongly now. I think EVO should run a smaller scale AE tournament, or exhibition matches in 2011 but do super as the main event still. I like Gouken so there's not a chance I'll be able to not play AE if it's available.

Great show, I like the format but maybe have half the show as match break down, or even just longer highlights. Great bit of banter going, always amusing.

I wanted more interesting characters than Evil Ryu and Oni Gouki (something that would really add to the game) too. I mean, sure they're easy to make (texture edits GO~), but Karin, Rolento, Alex and Elena would've been so much nicer to see. Either way, I can't even play Arcade Edition until console release because the Arcade Scene here is DEAD. So I'm glad EVO2k11 will be playing SSF4 instead of AE (Though as a Cody main, I can't wait to play the new buffed Cody).

There's no way AE won't be paid DLC. If they release it in February/March/April it will be used at Evo just like Super was. Everyone always says that the leaks are BS, but the achievements for Shin Akuma and Evil Ryu, just like everything else have been true.

Also, last time I check Daigo was talking about how he plans to use Makoto or Yun in AE.

Just as Mike said, the shift from Super to AE won't be direct but it will happen eventually. To say AE is not coming to consoles is saying Capcom doesn't like money. This same people who change $4 for costumes and DLC characters for Marvel 3 is happening. So everyone will be playing AE at one point or another but only once it gets more accessible to everyone i.e. DLC for consoles. I'd imagine Capcom will want to milk the Arcade scene as much as they can. AE DLC won't be out for at least 6 months

You know maybe I'm wrong. Perhaps they just do a patch type update or something where it's free. I have no idea. Most games I have seen outside of the PC Mod community that give extra content cost money. Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Borderlands, Mass Effect, etc. To develop this stuff cost time and money so the only logical thing would be to charge for it. Battlefield charges for all their expansions but at least BC2 maps didn't cost money but they just became variants.
