I love Rafal, is very talented and very young, I hope it is one of the finest pianists of this century, I would like to hear him playing Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Beethoven, etc. I hope to be in one of his concerts, hopefully soon pass by Madrid Spain
"DG is a prestigious record company so everything was perfectly organised. The photo session, for example, had taken place a few months before the recording session in Berlin and lasted almost the whole day. The photos had different views and styles and the best were chosen for the promotion and cover. Whereas the recording session took place in July in the studio in Hamburg.
I had a week to record all of the preludes and two nocturnes and it was enough time for me to experiment a bit and choose the best versions. On first two days I could familiarize with the piano, which I had chosen quite early before the recording (a few moths). First, of course, the microphones were placed and I had a conversation with the sound director about the quality of sound and the recording. Later on, there were the recording sessions from 1.00 PM to 8.00 PM.
For me, the most important thing was to create one work from those 24 minatures. My strategy was to record those pieces in big groups (the same as they are played on a concert), so at the beginning I took up recording the first half, and then the second one. I made 4 or 5 versions of the first 12 preludes and mostly I chose the next to last, because they were the best. Later, I sometimes came back to some of the preludes when I was able to improve something, but most of them were not changed.
Then, of course, nocturnes and two additional preludes. They were recorded on the last two days. The recording was mastered quite quickly, because I got the finished album in the second half of August. I was listening to it day and night and then I accepted it. Finally, the promotion and publishing started." That's it :)
Wspaniale- jak to zostało świetnie udokumentowane na youtube. Chciałem iść na to spotkanie, ale nie zdążyłem. Mimo to byłem na koncercie następnego dnia w Filharmonii Poznańskiej. Następnie Blechacz wyjechał do Paryża, a dwa fragmenty z paryskiego koncertu dodał użytkownik loopysuperstring (zob. "Rafal Blechacz - Chopin Waltz (live from paris)") Dzięki!
Wish he came back in France... and wish the sound were better :(

He's extremely tallented! He feels Chopin's music like noone else. still, he's so modest. I really admire him as a musician and as a person.
wish him a brilliant career!
