  • I watched this episode the night it aired originally aired, I can tell you no one expected this episode to end the way it did. It was typical ER fare, with the run of the mill traumas, a dying patient, Carter ignoring Lucy's difficulties, all with a celebration tying everything together. These episodes have come and gone and all have ended happily. To see Carter and Lucy brutally attacked was shocking, and unexpected. It was as if someone grabbed you by the throat and would not let go.

  • Carter my favorite character along with Abby. Hated the way the show ended with Carter by himself.

  • I still cringe whenever i hear this song.

  • and now..Lucy is dead..just saw it an hour ago x_X

  • My complaint about the DVds I bought with th season 6 is it didn't have "extras" about the production of these 2 episodes: the death of Lucy and almost death of Carter. The Dvds of season ,1,2,3,4 have that kind of extras, but in the 6 just some "scenes deleted".

That was the most important happening of the entire ER in all seasons, for me. It deserved some descriptions, of the actors for example.

  • I got ER season 6 on DVD, for my birthday, back in June, and couldn't wait to see this episode. When I finally DID get to see it, I was so shocked, I was on my feet, yelling, "OMG, Carter! No way!!" Can't believe how brutal it was. :P

  • the most important and significant moment in all the serie :the dead of lucy

thats open a lot of success in the history of the serie

My fav serie at all besides im a student of medicine too :)

  • The episode where they're found was so gory,i had to stop watching the dvd and go and lie down as i felt sick, lost all my colour! I can watch it now though

  • Carteeeeer :S^^.

islam is the only true religion.

  • @Saramausi1996 Not.

  • Oh my god!I still remember this episode.I hadn't had the chance to watch it when it first aired on Greece but we watched it,my family and friends on DVD.And we were like holy jesus! And the episode after that,we were practically holding hands.Electrofying, gut wrenching and so much agonizing. And the background music, the contrast of it,just makes it even more terrifying!ER just rocks.

  • This was a really sad ep. I was about 9 or something when I last saw it, and I was praying for lucy to get better, but then she died. I was crying a bit.

  • How can you have parties in the er while some patients die or injured and their familes are having hard time, seriously you people have no morals or heart!

  • @Bufurzone welcome to america

  • @toofast4me I don't believe this,maybe they're just showing it in the movies!!?

  • What season and episode is this?!?!

  • season 6 Be still my heart the story was continued in the episode "all in the family"

  • Thanks.I love this episode :]

  • one of the most sad and full of emotion episodes of E.R.

I can't forget this episode! really sad...and the reactions of the doctors are very truthful!

  • God, what an iconic moment in TV history. I remember watching this episode almost ten years ago now (Jeez, can you believe it's been that long?!) and being totally floored. In fact, it was this moment, this episode, this show, of all the shows I ever watched, that got me into reading spoilers for the first time. Before this I had no idea they existed!

  • LOVE this dang song! "Battlefield" by lo Fidelity all stars

  • poor lucy! I really liked her, I can't believe that they killed her off!

  • sensational music choice, I still remember this song recurrent on another episode ,when Paul (Patient) return ER, full recovery and has other minor injury.

  • The song is "Battleflag" by Lo Fidelity All Stars

  • @ThatGirl87x

Love how they edit the song!

  • @ThatGirl87x thank u man

  • The music is perfect for this scene, it's scary....

  • ..1 of the most loneliest episodes in ER...

    :(

  • anyone know the song that plays in the background?

  • battleflag by pigeonhed

  • oh i am an idiot, please disregard my post. I scrolled down and see someone already asked the same question and got the answer

  • you can do that by yourself... we can;t do that ;)

  • can anyone please tell me the name of this song playing inthe background? I want to download it on itunes

  • I actually remember this.

  • poor carter, least he didn't die love him to bits xx

  • battleflag by lo fidelity allstars

  • Ya What Is The Song Please Tell Me

  • What Is The Song

  • What's the song, that's playing on the radio, and when Carter walks in the room? (it's the same one, isn't it?)

  • i remember this episode from er more than any

oh and the one where ramano gets his arm cut off by the helicopter

  • my thoughts exactly - this was shortly after I had gotten really into ER and this episode blew me away - never in my life had I wanted to see the next episode of a tv series more than after this!

  • nooo it's like stabbing bambi

  • what does that suppouse to mean

  • it means you're a spakend for not understanding my cultural reference

  • Rescue 9-1-1-'s "Ben taub docu" segment should've had this song with the "pulsating knife" scene LOL.

  • the rescue 9-1-1- episode I referred to is #211 which is here btw.

  • Whats the name of this episode? ^^

  • "Be Still My Heart"

    I believe lol

  • who is the valentine from that carter picks up from the floor?

  • @anastassiades it's for lucy...simply from a good friend

  • This is my fav ER moment of all 15 seasons. Electrifying, even after watching it a thousand times it still gives me goosebumps!!

  • I just caught the comment at :12.... "I think we have a bigger knife in the lounge"..."Couldn't find it"- yikes, that gave me chills. Anyways, this was a great episode.

  • I Like the episode..

It's just VERY bad quality.. =S

  • what season is this from i forgot

  • Every time I hear this song now, it haunts me.. I don't want ER to end :(

  • Every time I hear this song I think of this scene.

  • This was one of the most memorable moments of television ever for me. I just remember being completely shocked by the contrast of the music with what was happening. That song will forever be a haunting one for me.

  • i totally agree everytime i even here that song i think of this scene and just thinking of er i think of that scene...that was the most intense 2 shows with the stabbiing i have ever seen

  • The blood on his hands looks like tomato sauce lol. Has the full episode been removed from youtube? I remember there used to be about 11 parts but I can't find them anymore ;(

  • yea i was so pissed Lucy was so hot

  • when this epsdoes aired i was in 1st year of college I wented to a privite college and remember my whole dorm watch this in the longer and we were all stunted and shock

  • i remember the night that i saw this episode...juxtaposing the tragedy of their stabbings against the backdrop of a party on the hospital floor was brilliant...made it more shocking. i was FLOORED by this episode and the following one where lucy died

  • I was hella shocked at this epsiode, I had to replay it on my DVD... Do anyone know the name of the song playing

  • its battleflag by lo fidelity allstars

  • I believe this episode was directed by Laura Innes, aka Kerry Weaver, and she did a fantastic job, especially with this scene. This was shocking the first time around.

  • This episode broke my heart, Lucy's death was horribly tragic :(

  • C'est l'épisode 13 où Lucy et Carter se font poignarder et l'épisode 14 où l'équipe des Urgences essaient de les sauver et c'est de la saison 6

J'adore aussi la musique de Lo Fidelity All Stars - Battleflag =)

  • ER's definitely a sweet show. 15 seasons. not too many other shows last that long.

  • And most of the ones that do end up being really crappy by the end. ER has been fantastic from start to what I assume will be a fanstastic finish.

  • Wanna know how it ends?

    :SPOILER:

    :SPOILER:

    :SPOILER:

    :SPOILER:

Carter opens up his own Medical facility and Rachel Greene (Mark's daughter) begins her internship at County, thus bringing the series full circle with Carters arc reaching its conclusion and a 'new beginning' with Rachel. Classic characters appearing in the series finale--Carter, Benton, Weaver, Lewis and Corday.

    Should be a good one!

  • how did you know..i just watched it but how did you know a week before?

  • Its amazing what you can find on the internet with a simple search...

  • This episode is called "Be Still My Heart"

  • I watched all of ER last year when I was bored during the writer's strike. Although I was spoiled for many of the major storylines (this included), this episode was really chilling.

  • What is this episode called? And wich season is this?

  • the episode is All In The Family but i dont know what season

  • Comment removed

  • Season 6

  • This is from Season 6

  • everytime i hope lucy lives.....she and carter had great chemistry

  • Wow. What a cliff hanger! :(

Can you tell me the name of the music?

  • "Battleflag" by The Lo-Fidelity All Stars

  • i watched the episode thirty times

    fascinating & shocking

    thrilling!

  • This episode is amazing. I was watching when it originally aired and I was like, WHAT?!?!? OMG!!!! It was so crazy and shocking, wow.

  • I have not watched ER in years. I only remember this episode, the one where the schizophrenic returns, the one with the Hellicopter and the one where Carter says he lost his virginity at age of 11.

    Not much...

  • in which episode does the schizophrenic comes back?

  • season 8

    "beyond repair"

  • What an episode this was. Completely shocked me. and somebody mentioned the music being played when Carter bumped into the guy later. That ws indeed cool how they played a snippet of this music. Great job.

  • At what second does Lucy get stabbed? they dont show it!

  • They never showed Lucy getting stabbed in the series, although presumably it happened when Carter was talking to Abby on the roof..the first time they show her injured is when Carter falls to the floor and sees her on the other side of the bed.

Great sequence of episodes, and I loved the continuity they showed in "Beyond Repair" (aka The Return of Paul Sobriki)

  • saddest part of the show!

  • When Sobriki returned in Season 8 and Carter ran into him, having them play this track again was pure GENIUS.

I absolutely loved that they referenced it seasons later. :-)

  • Song is 'Battleflag' by Lo Fidelity Allstars..I bought their CD solely because of this sequence on ER. Looking forward to the season premiere tonight!

  • what is the name of the song playing?

  • these two episodes were perhaps the best of the whole entire franchise. i remember crying during them!! so emotional

  • he stabbed them both because they were hurting him. so he says(the pysch patient)

  • I remember this. I forget what Carter and Lucy were fighting about though? It sucked that it took them both getting stabbed for them to get over it.

  • carter wouldn't listen to her about the patient with stabbed them being crazy. he was wrong...

  • What are the mathematical odds of stabbing 2 doctors? See, because the guy is David Krumholtz, the Numb3rs professor..

  • Someone can tells to me the name of the episode, please?

  • be still my heart and the next one where lucy dies is all in the family.

  • thanks

  • Did it actually show the psych patient attack Lucy?

  • it doesnt show it, just carter getting attacked.

  • Thank You" I'm asking because this is the one episode i missed. It makes me want want to go purchase Season Six now." I have the first three seasons all ready but way behind.

And" the comment about John Stamos "No Offense" But he cannot save a dying show "Sad to say after all these years

  • yeah i stopped buying the seasons after 8 came out bc its not the same without dr greene. i also quit watching the newer episodes when all the orginal characters went off. even the show is the same age as me i still love it. (:

  • "Yes" Absolutely. After i purchase the otther three seasons i'm done.

  • what the heck did carter do?

  • what does the little valentine say...

  • @spoonreflections

Be Still My Heart, which is the title of the episode.

  • Powerful stuff.

ER at it's best - both this episode and the one immediately following.

  • This music makes it seem like him getting stabbed was nothing

  • I think that the music made it seem more intense rather than sad slow music. The guy stabbing them is crazy obviously and the music kind of fits that type of situation, a crazy man stabbing people.

  • I guess it was just weird to me

  • i kinda see what you mean but i think it had something to do with the partying...think of it this way while Lucy and carter were being stabbed and almost bleeding to death the people were partying have a great time...thats what for me makes this so much more intense...

  • Hmm I can see your point.

  • anybody know that song name???

  • it's "battleflag" by Low Fidelity All-Stars

  • thank you!

  • this is one of the best episodes ever, love er

  • Why destroy the end of the episode where Carter gets stabbed with that horrible music?? It's much better without it, really!! bad quality too...

  • I think it's to trivialise it, almost.

  • It worked very well though, in one of the following episodes where the guy came back when he was better and Carter saw him and they played the same music. It kind of connected the two scenes and brought everything together.

  • sombrasul, you really need to get a life

  • Took the words out of my mouth :)

  • What Episode is this? I Really want to know!!!!

  • It's Season 6 Episode 13. Be Still My Heart. I really want to see the whole episode though!!!

  • jesus...still hurts me everytime i see this, i love ER, their characters are like my friends and this was shocking

  • i didn't see this one

  • God, poor Lucy and Carter ;(

  • Season 6 was the best. ER just sucks now.. not even John Stamos can save it.

  • i agree

  • Oh man, I remember watching this when it was first airing! It was SUCH a great reveal at the end! (carter seeing that Lucy was stabbed too). I remember sitting in my family room with my parents going "OH MY GOD CARTER JUST GOT STABB -- AHHH LUCY TOO!!"

  • I was freaking out crying. the following Thursday I was crying even before it started.

  • whats the name of the episode??

  • Be Still My Heart (Season 6)

  • If you wanna now a song from an episode, you can look it up on www.tv.com , it mostly says it there.

Anyway the whole stabbing situation and Lucy dieing was really sad.

  • THANKS SOOOOOOO MUCH!!! Kitty ur awesome....

  • Aw, I wish I saw this Episode. The song is by Lo Fidelity Allstars-Battleflag. I had to watch the clip a thousand times to catch a lyric then look it up on the Web, but it was worth it ;)

  • Very nice clip but does ne one know the name of the song that's playing in the clip?

  • Battleflag by Lo Fidelity Allstars

  • can i request for more clips from this episode??? i really like this episode.. pls.. anyone??

  • I made some clips from the Carter-part of this episode, as there were only Lucy ones at youtube :)

  • One of ER's best episodes ever.

I felt really bad for them.

  • I have been looking for this for like 2 hours.. I can't wait until this season comes out on DVD!

    Poor Carter..

  • poor lucy!

  • i remember this! :-(
