plz reply so i am going to get a baby or adult Veiled chameleon if i get a baby it will be 3 to 4 month old but will they die easy and will they bond with you more than a already adult thanks
Is a Yemen Chameleon the MOST friendly out of the 4 most common types? I know they don't LOVE being handled but if you had to choose, the most hearty chameleon is a veiled one correct?
@facebookminion every chameleon is different.. My veiled/yemenc chameleon is incredibly calm and docile but occasionally he might get a slight grump. it depends on how you raise them as well. inbox me for more details if you like.
I just baught a Jackson Chameleon. if he turns black does that mean he is angry and stressed or what? should i not touch him if hes black? what do the colors mean on a Jackson?
I love the way those vivariums are setup. I prefer them over the screen cages. I would like to know if the Exo-Terra vivs that are sold will have sufficient airflow and ventilation to raise a chameleon? I see that is pretty much all he uses. Are the reasons for using screen mostly due to ventilation & so the chams don't see their reflection or are there other reasons as well?
What do you consider the most docile of all species? I dont want to handle it much, but for cleaning and rare handling I dont want it biting at me. Although all chameleons may be somewhat aggressive.
I messages u saying I might get a cham. My dad just gave me my christmas present and they are 2 Knight Anoles do you have any in your reptile collection/store?
VERY NICE VIDEO!!! I am thinking about getting a cham but my dad says the are very hard to keep you have to make the humid perfect but If I got one for christmas I would want a mellers
Excuse me! The veiled is being a wriggler and he's trying to keep hold of it so that it doesn't throw itself on the floor. Also if his animals weren't happy then he wouldn't be able to breed them. Why are a few people getting their hackles up about his handling when he is handling them perfectly??
your going to kill all your chameleons if you keep handling them like that. male veileds have an attitude problem because when they hiss at you all you do is swing him around like it was a toy.
hey! i like u am a reptile lover!! ive have ball pythons and have had an emeral tree boa and a red tail boa but i traded them for some ball pythons to my best friends dad. this will be my second lizzard. i had some kind of lizard when i was like 3 but was way to young to care for one. i am planing on useing an exo terra 24long 18deep and 36high. i eather want a veiled or panther chameleon!! which one do u think will have more vibrant colors and/or thrive best in this size tank
I also disagree with the handling. When you handle a chameleon you must put your hand below him so he could climb to your hand. For me the way he handle those chameleons is incorrect. But I think he is a great breeder. :)
I have known phil for almost a year now and he handles all the reptiles with care and respect. He's a fab bloke and knows what he's talking about, so could few people who have a problem shut up and watch a bit closer, the animals perfectly cared for. On another note, would love to see more videos like this :) keep up the good work!
my 5 month old blue bar ambanja chameleon will sometimes be mean and sometimes not be mean so one time ill hol it and he wont even show his mane but other times he will open his mouth ive been holding him 5-10 min a day so my question is do they calm down as they get older or do they stay the same personality wise
@Cleathechameleon I'm sorry but I have to disagree. Phil (who has been breeding chameleons for 10+ years with great success) is a very good handler in my opinion.
@SuperSirTomahawk So you would consider grabbing a chameleon by the back or the neck, or the back handling a chameleon correctly? I have been successfully breeding chameleons for 10+ years myself, & successfully rehabilitating & keeping WC Mellers. I disagree with your opinion. This retailer handles chams like every other retailer I have dealt with over the years, with total disregard for the animal. Oh, & that Mellers has & the beginning stages of necrosis on its crest.
now he said that they aren't really meant to be picked up and played with who the heck would pick one up and play with it like a toy or something. he took his out and we can't take ours out and he's talking about not picking them up and he almost dropped his in the video please
@chameleonlover4967 All chameleons are for advanced herpetological hobbyists. I do not consider them pets, they are exotic wild animals that is why I breed them I like the challenge. Beardies or Leopard geckos make great pets. My first lizard was an Iguana when I was 7 years old in 1967. He lived for 20+ years and got 7 feet long including his massive tail.
can male veild/yemen chameleons be very colorful?

@cleathechameleon, I wouldn't talk. I looked at your vids and it doesn't look like you ever feed your veild. Phil handles them perfectly fine.

another good idea for hydrating chameleon is to put icecubes at the top of the viv and when they melt they make drops on plants, alot cheaper option

@12cutiemna No lighting at all, they need to sleep just like we do. They also need a modest drop in temps to simulate a normal Yemen environment.

I've never seen anyone handle a Cham with such disregard for how uncomfortable he makes the animal feel!

not trying to hate on anyone here, but i would suggest you be a little bit more gentle when you are taking your Chameleons out of there enclosures.
