Amen brother. The voters are going to pay a huge price for voting Bush in twice and leaving the Supreme Court in a condition to turn the country over to the corporations.
I think you are stretching it a little when you say they "Voted" in Bush , Remember it was the Supreme Court that stopped the counting of the ballots in Fla.after 2000, If that had not happened who this would be a far different country ...Al Gore won the Popular Votes of 2000

And that goes down the line. When I get a case about discrimination, I have to think about people in my own family who suffered discrimination because of their ethnic background or because of religion or because of gender. And I do take that into account.
When I have cases involving children, I can't help but think of my own children and think about my children being treated in the way that children may be treated in the case that's before me.
But when I look at those cases, I have to say to myself, and I do say to myself, "You know, this could be your grandfather, this could be your grandmother. They were not citizens at one time, and they were people who came to this country."
And that's why I went into that in my opening statement. Because when a case comes before me involving, let's say, someone who is an immigrant -- and we get an awful lot of immigration cases and naturalization cases -- I can't help but think of my own ancestors, because it wasn't that long ago when they were in that position.
It is clear to me that her statement would make her a biased judge who shouldn't serve. In terms of the law ones one life experience is should not be superior to another's simply based on their ethnicity.
If you believe that I took it out of context then your video is taken out of context. We don't even know what question he is answering.
You show your ignorance by calling me a "Nazi". During the Alito hearings then Senator Obama stated " he strongly defended a senator's right to oppose high court nominees because of their philosophical and political views, not just on the narrower grounds of character and temperament."
And what is the reasoning behind "in a case on such matters that having personal experience might better equip a justice to understand those issues more clearly."
Alito may show how his background my influence his decision here but he doesn't claim his background is superior to someone else's background. He doesn't say that a white man can make a better decision than a Latino woman. Had he said that he would not have been confirmed. Plain and simple.

You are taking that out of context you NEO-CON Nazi. She did not say "better than" implicitly, she was suggesting that in a case on such matters that having personal experience might better equip a justice to understand those issues more clearly.

And so it's my job to apply the law. It's not my job to change the law or to bend the law to achieve any result.

I missed the part of the video where Judge Alito said he could reach a better decision because he was Italian.
Nice try at defending the indefensible speech of Sotomayor - you still fell very short.

Agreed. The person who labeled this video is a liar.
