I have been a petro head, for 40 odd years. This has got to be the best F1 racing I have ever seen. I remember watching it on TV and absolutely riveted to the screen and shouting for Nigel. I truly believe that if it had been any other circuit; Nigel would have been able to overtake Ayrton, but I give credit to him him for taking the pressure and keeping calm. Nigel was and still is in my estimation, the best British driver that we have ever had. He was always exiting.

Remenbered watching this. Senna break tested Mansell for those last few laps. The press conference aftrwards Mansell was nothing but complimentary to Senna a true English gentleman and in my opinion the best overtaker and gutsy driver ever in formular 1. Senna well.... lets just say if those 2 top positions were the other way round that day I`m 95 percent sure Senna would have rammed Mansell up the arse. He was such a bad loser!

@TheDarry1 Totally agree mate.....nobody had bigger balls than Mansell. Remember him going round the outside of Berger at the last corner in Mexico. I personally think that Mansell was probably the only driver that Senna was slightly wary of in a straight fight because our Nigel was terrifyingly brave.

I was there!!! At Tabac corner with a mate of mine. I still have the video that I shot that day and will post it soon. My hands were shaking with the excitement towards the end of the race. Was also at the 89 and 90 races which Senna also won. Have video from these races too, so will get busy and get it up if anyone's interested.

Mansell had a problem with one of his wheele so he must go the pit and than Senna take the lead. As we know it's difficult to overtake on monaco circuit even if you got fresh tyres on. Whatever that race was the most exciting in history and both of the drivers where out of this planet.

Mansell was probably the most aggresive driver of his time, and Senna possibly the most talented driver of ALL times! Quando eu era criança, não suportava o Mansell pela rivalidade que tinha com Senna. Mas depois que cresci que conheci o sentido da palavra "humildade", reconheço que Manssell foi humilde bastante em esperar Senna em Suzuka 1991 para cumprimenta-lo depois da vitória.

Valeu Mansell... valeu Senna!! Esportistas de verdade e não essa corja que pilota hoje os carros de F1.

When I was a kid in 1992, i didn't like Mansell because of Senna x Mansell rivalry. I didn't kenw how gentle, how humble and how great Manselll was, waiting for Senna to congrats him at Suzuka in 1991.

@janobelo another annotation back in 1992 Williams Renault was considered being from another planet. They were not only superior like Red Bull 2010, but much more. Red Bull was the best car in 2010, but not with such a difference. In some circumstances like Istambul, Montreal, Spa or Monza they were not superior while Williams Renault was quicker on every track, fast or slow it didn't matter. Before that epic race in Monaco Mansell won the first five races of the season.

@janobelo yes, and look, in some spots Senna was as quick as Nigel although the tyres were off, watch how he managed to go trough the casino corner, very close to the inside rail, and observe how good he was accelerating early out of Anthony Noghes corner (the last before the straight line). even 18 years later all this is difficult to explain.
