Larry Riley also played in " A SOLDER`S STORY" with Denzel Washington from 1984. He played the character CJ, a singer who often sung with Patti Labelle at this club near this military base. It`s a murder mystery set during the WWII era. great acting, great story and music.

I remember watching this when I was little. I also have fond memories of the Haley Mills version. When I was little, I called this "the Black Pollyanna." Great version. Love it.
