Christy: at 16, this was my favourite song too (that was back in the '70s)... Check out the version they're covering (by the Crew Cuts, 1954) at "watch?v=Q9G0-4TWwew"... In turn, the Crew Cuts were doing a new version of the Chords' original (which didn't have the ya-da-da-da, also 1954); the Overtones do a great job of covering that version.

actually, the chords sang the original, but the crew cuts covered it later on, making their version the more popular one, i believe

If I could go back at the age I am now, I think it would be much cooler. And the 50's. I would kill to visit them. Except I live in the South. I think I would visit somewhere up North. Too much anger down here at that time.
