  • I would have punched those dickhead refs for sure.

  • No they were mobbed in the parking lot and viciously murdered to death

  • No. They punished them by making them wear duck gear for a week. Yellow toilet seat logo and all.

  • I think I remember hearing that those refs were banned from the postseason that year. Thats it

  • Pac12 officiating is horrendous. BigXII was bad, but there is simply no comparison to how terrible it is in the Pac.

  • I am a BIG Duck fan but that was a bad call and of course it was PAC-10 or PAC-12 refs.

  • WHAT??? BAD CALLS BY PAC-10 REFS???? NO WAY

  • Beyond obviously down. That ump is beyond incompetent.

  • They missed the face mask call, too.

  • Did these ref's get fined?

  • @TheVoski

It's the Pac 10/12. By their standards, this is an excellent call.

  • Wow, I am not a fan of the PAC10 or PAC12 now but that was a horrible call. He was down when his knee hit the ground and then the ground knocked the ball out which the ground can't cause a fumble. Sorry Oregon State, that was horrible.

  • Who won? Washington or oregon state?

  • its the pac 10. play isnt dead until the flags are ripped off the ball carriers belt... p.s. what are full backs and tight ends???

    Sincerely and with love,

    left coast hippies ;)

  • Coming from a Duck fan

    His knee was down

    and by rule

it is not a fumble when you are down

  • I am a Husky fan but that is horrible

  • I am a Husky and even I knew he was down haha

  • haha thats funny. what were the refs watching? hopefully these refs all changed careers, they look bored

  • idk who won that game but that was a TERRIBLE call

  • im a husky and i hate the beavers and even i agree thats a crap call. Even a duck wouldnt like that one

  • @TheAustingd oregon state

  • Why didn't mike Riley take a time out before they snapped it. That's a bull shit called and I'm a duck

  • @ZackQuack out of time outs

  • What a horrible call. That should be down like right there though. Fuck that shit! I remember being at that game and remember hearing the crowd booing for a pretty long time. Oregon State win though.

  • Those refs and the review officials should never be allowed to officiate another CFB game. CLEARLY a conspiracy here. Three refs right there, AND the review booth lets it go?

I wonder what the point spread for the game was.

  • lol, im a husky and say thats a retarded call

  • so when you say "cheaters never prosper," are you implying that UW cheated on this play? the refs blow a call = UW cheating?

  • Why the hell did Riley not review?! (Yes, I'm a Duck, but I believe in fair play, and hate the Huskies more than OSU!)

  • @meloyellowduck Out of timeouts

  • @thomasg86 The booth should have reviewed it. Doesn't matter on timeouts

  • @Kahoko Yup. Thus incompetent.

  • @meloyellowduck I'm a Beaver and I gotta ask, how do u hate UW more than OSU? I'm a little offended XP

  • who won cuz if the other team won cause of that call im pretty sure that ref wont have a job any more

  • @mactrick117 Oregon State won. I missed being at the game... my old man later told me he has never heard a crowd boo so loud and for so long.

  • How does Oregon State not challenge that? I guess they may have been out of challenges, but...

The review booth should have taken over here and done their job.

Of course, this would have all been avoided if the player had done the smart thing (a la Brian Westbrook and Maurice Jones-Drew) and just gone down at the 2.

  • LOLOOL WOW

  • Now I have reviewed this play as if I under the hood. I would have ruled the player down at the half yd line. At 0:08 the player's body was down and still had possession of the ball. As for the fumble, if the officials stated that he was not yet down by contact then according to the NCAA rulebook once the ball has broken the plain of the goal it will be ruled a touchdown. Now refer to 0:08 again. ball is clearly accrossed the plain

  • @mssaul27 furthermore I am pretty sure the ball only came out because his hand hit the ground, I would consider that the ground causing the fumble. I know thats an NFL rule, if its not a college rule it should be, just like you have to be tackled to be down.

  • If anything he was down BEFORE crossing the plane of the endzone.

  • still one of the worst calls i have ever seen in football, simply stunning

  • Um, I'm not sure what that ref standing, what, less than 5 yards away didn't see that he was down. Simply amazing what refs do not see.

  • 1:00 the morale of this video is , 73 is a piece of shit tackler.

    stay in school kiddies!

  • I am a Husky and I say the player is down on the 2.5 yard line with the right knee and the ball is placed on the 1 yard line . PAC 10 officials are just bad.

  • That would stink. The Auburn officials aren't the best either.

  • @thomasg86

Actually, he sounds a LOT like Pac10 officials, who treat Oregon State as if they're Arizona: a dirty team that has the loudest, most obnoxious coach in the game when it comes to plays that are "close" to being called incorrectly.

  • Was the whole replay booth jacking off or something? How did they miss that?

  • Nebraska.....this is what you can expect from now on.

  • @puffy999 agreed who won the game is NOT the issue here..the point of this video is to expose one MAJOR screw up

  • Ive been to every Beaver home game since 2005. The reffs have never been very good.

  • THAT WAS DOWN AT THE TWO YARD LINE

  • THAT WAS DOWN

  • @JMOSABRES you sound like the biggest cheesedick on the planet when you talk

  • God thats stupid thats not a fumble PAC-10 OFFICALS SUCK KILL THEM ALL!

  • Damn thats pathetic. Ok If he wasnt down its a touchdown. Either a touchdown or short of the goal by a yard and .25. Wow that sucked.

  • This was the worst officiating screw up in the history of college football. Not only was he down by every possible measure of a player being down (his knee, then hip, then body, then shoulder/elbow), but the ball clearly crossed the plane while in his possession after he was down. Either he was obviously down, or it was a touchdown, there is no in-between. The mistake was compounded by the review booth not buzzing the field.

This is why I do not trust Pac10 officials in Oregon State games.

  • Officials held off on the whistle as a question about whether a fumble occurred before or after the player was down. If they blew it too soon, the situation couldn't be corrected (dead ball). If they blew it late, the situation could be corrected, time put back on the clock, etc. (live ball). Here, they played it safe, but (1) OSU couldn't call for a replay, because they had no TOs left, and (2) there was a problem with communication between the replay booth and the officials on the field.

  • @decline2state

The call was so clearly blown that it should never have made it that far. Again, even if he wasn't down, the ball clearly, CLEARLY, was not fumbled until it had broken the plane.

"Officials held off" on the whistle because they are blind, incompetent, or biased. That play was not close enough for a "let the review booth decide" call. The officials in question should have been suspended for the year for that mistake, if not out-right fired on the spot. Yes, it was THAT bad.

  • @JMOSABRES yeah they probably don't like you because you're a dumbass... just sayin'

  • let's get everything they missed here...

    1) his whole side is on the ground

    2) if he isn't down it's a TD anyways

    3) "fumble" was caused by the ground

    4) review officials in the booth thinking it wasn't worth a second look

I've been to a few husker games too where they reviewed it a couple plays after the questionable play (the worst one being a touchdown overturned after they kicked the PAT and kickoff and 2 plays into their drive) they shouldve done that here even if it's against procedure

  • What people may not realize was that, as badly as OSU got jobbed on the play, and as angry as the fans were about the call, the Beavers held UW on downs and won the game.

  • I'm a Husky fan - but not a PAC-10 ref fan. We have long since had THE WORST refs. They miss play after play and throw flags at total BS. Particularly that old guy with glasses - horrid!

  • It's not a TD but he was down.

  • To shed some light on the situation: According to the radio postgame, it turns out the replay officials were trying to get the field refs to stop the next play so they could review, but there was a glitch with the equipment. They could not get the request down to the field crew to hold the game. In the end, the refs had to be escorted out by security.

JMOSABRES, leave the power trip at home. It's about the game and players, not your ego.

  • Were the refs drinking the night before? Looks like it. How else can you explain such shocking officiating? The ball even crossed the goal line after he was down before the ball came out. How can those refs call that a fumble? I could even understand them calling that a touchdown. Poor officiating.

  • That's a shocking call. How on earth does the ref miss that? Somebody please tell me. If I were a spectator, I would gather a few people to storm the field and mob the refs, lol. Were the refs watching the same game we were?

  • Knees are down, ground can't force a fumble in college football, and how is it a fumble if it breaks the plane of the endzone? Pac-10 refs are completely inept and incompetent. They can't even spot the ball correctly play to play.

  • hard to put the full blame on the officials on the field...why was that play not reviewed by the replay booth officials?...

  • Haha as HUGE Husky fan, I'll be the first to say that was a HORRIBLE call! One of the worst I've ever seen.

  • what is this sport?

  • typical Pac-10 refs. Clueless.

That was a great game. Was nice that the Beavers hung on after that terrible call. I'll never forget how loud the crowd was, booing for the last 4min of the game, until the refs were off the field.

  • i was there, and the crowd was booing nonstop for the rest of the game. thankfully, the beavs still won though

  • ....Who said there isn't an Away Field Advantage?

  • that same thing happened in my provinces cfl team did the same thing but it was a touchdown and i asked that was close and my dad told me yes it was and it was suppose to crss the line first. t doesn't matter what ever hits the ground first. The ball is suppose to cross the line, to be a touchdown

  • Wow. I have seen some bad officiating in the SEC, but that takes the cake.

  • PAC-10 refs are worthless. I don't know how the hell the NCAA doesn't investigate the entire conference. EVERY other conference in the NCAA uses refs from their own conference AND refs from their opponent's conference. The PAC-10 is the only conference that uses only their own officials, and they have the most biased refs in the country.

    It's despicable.

  • @pele1281 UW and OSU are in the same conference.

  • @tangojuliet3

I was thinking OSU as in Oklahoma State. Similar colors.

PAC-10 officials still suck balls, and the conference shouldn't be allowed to use only their own refs.

  • i woulda went up to the ref standing their and slapped the shit outta him

  • @JMOSABRES if you really are an official you are a skid mark on the underwear of shitty reffing

  • typical PAC 10 ref. im sure phil knight paid them off

  • @BMORGANS10 Doubt Phil Knight would want UW to win anything, ever.

  • I'm standing 4 yds away from the play, but I can't see knee, then entire side of body make contact with the turf before the ball comes loose, which by the way, if you aren't going to call him down, how can you call a fumble after the ball crosses the plain and then comes loose?

  • These officials suck. no!!! The people who officiate Uconn football games suck worst

  • Every team in the pac-10 gets their share of terrible calls. At least this one didn't cost OSU the game, look at the Washington - BYU 2008, call, that was bad.

  • wow just another example of shitty refs!!! No surprise in its in the shitty Pac 10! even with Instant Replay they got this wrong??? wtf more evidence do they need!!

  • @JMOSABRES

why would you post this, i just read this and im going to allert ncaa officials and youtube because they do have your email and it can be traced to see who you are and what conference you reff hockey, "look the other way", "Things can always come back and bite a team in the ASS in the next game' granted that I am the assigned Official" your screwed

  • @JMOSABRES yeah, but that was a HORRIBLE call

  • who won this game>>>>?????

  • See man, washington is a bunch of f%$#!&@ cheaters, now imagine what its like being their rivals, you really got to deal with some b.s. shit.

  • I'm a huge Husky fan.....but, seriously....that was terrible officiating. Clearly down, no fumble. Unreal.

  • I think that this was just a BCS conspiracy.

  • impossible camera angle to judge by the video- but if his hand was down at the 1 yd ln the shadow o the ball did not meet the plane of the goal line and was dead just shy. should have been next down at the 1. In Canada, the ground cannot cause a fumble!

  • that has to be the worst call ive seen in my life

  • Those refs were horribal you could be at the consession stand and call that right!!!

  • They're Pac-10 refs. Would you expect anything different?

  • these are the kind of ref's that get me yelling at them from the sideline, obvious missed call, where the fuck where you looking?

  • Wow I would take off my pads and kick the shit out of the ref. right there...and if anyone asked why I'd just t3ll'em to look at the replay.

  • This is not a bad call, this is straight up PAC-10 corruption. Youtube Search: 1.) Referee Makes Tackle 2.) Gamecocks - Garcia tackled by ref

  • Very sad but also very true....

  • seriously, even if he wasn't down (which he was), the ball was in the endzone, so then TD and still no fumble

  • 1:01, lol

  • Comment removed

  • why didnt OSU call a time out to give the booth time to review the play?

  • Because this was one of Lyle's early games and he had been forced to call them earlier in the half because he couldn't get the offense in line and such. But regardless, teh refs shouldn' thave needed teh extra few minutes to review it

  • Go Cougs!!!

  • only USC can get a call like that lol

  • that is an awful call! im neutral about both teams and wow, 1. he was down, 2. if he wasn't down the ball broke the plain and thats a td, worst call i have ever seen

  • @janitorsdisease

Absolutly correct ! This is why nobody wants to play these little bitches at their place.

They can't win without some outside help. Boise State is no different. If they ever came to Columbus, with or without WAC officials, they would get the worst beatdown of their pathetic lives. This happens every year to any team that plays them at home, these Refs are a Bunch of inbred assholes.

  • @MrBuck4life Yeah but most refs won't make calls this bad

  • @janitorsdisease You missed that even if those two things didn't happen, the fumble was caused by the ground on top of that.

  • dammm dude ur a badassss

  • I think there should be a ref or 3 behind the scenes at these games able to quickly reverse or affirm the field calls.

  • If they don't want to do anything about calls like this it seems like sports leagues only want some call and don't care if it's right or wrong.

  • There shouldn't be officials in sports... It should be all electronic. Too many bad calls changing the outcome of games. It's absolutely ridiculous and mainly why I don't watch footbal anymore. I mean it's fucking 2010 already, they should have laser guided shit going on wtf?

  • Wow thats a bull shit call

  • The ground can't cause a fumble anyways. When the ball hits the ground, the play is over, even if it causes him to lose control of the ball, and if his knee is down or not doesn't matter. There is no way you can think that this was a fumble. I don't even have a clue why they didn't review this.

  • I've gotta believe that JMO SABRES is just trolling for flames. There are 3 reasons this isn't a fumble. 1) His knee, hip, side, and elbow are down before the ball comes out. 2) The ground can't cause a fumble 3) the ball is across the goal line when it comes out of his hand. JMO, the PAC10 suspended this entire crew after reviewing the video. They didn't just reprimand one ref. The entire crew was suspended. It was that bad.

  • who are you? leader of the obvious club?

  • bad call the ground cant cause a fumble

  • Ha you truly are a douche bag, trolling, cock sucking fucking whore. Not only are you not a ref, but your also just a complete dumb ass. Just look, his knee hits the grounh (down) his hips hit the ground (down) his entire legs and torso are on teh ground (down) elbow hits the ground (down) Ball still in control hits the ground (down) Ball crosses the plane (Touchdown assuming that he somehow wasn't down) oh but wait, the ball came loose, must be a fumble. JMOSABRES ur an idiot go die, fake ref

  • Dude JMOSABRES you totally ignored the part about how the ball isn't coming out at all until it hits the ground, how do you explain that even though the ground caused the fumble it is UWs ball? By rule if a player is being tackled, The ground can't cause a fumble. As is shown UW player is pulling him down by his legs Bernard is going down with control of the ball when he stretches it out the ball hits the ground and comes out therefore ground causing the fumble.

  • Pac 10 refs wouldnt even make it if they were little ;eague refs, this is a sad call and the worst one ive ever seen besides oregon vs oklahoma

  • Yeah, dude? I've looked at this play quite a few times now AND also showed your video to 2 other guys on my crew.. WE ALL CAME UP WITH THE SAME CONCLUSION!! His knee did not hit the ground prior to hitting the ground!!!! Let me Re-iterate again !!! WASHINGTON'S BALL!!! I suggest you look at other angles of this play posted on here and you'll be in agreement. If I encountered this dilemma in a H.S. game that I was officating; i would, and in very similar plays, have made the same call !!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOO GO HUSKIES!

  • Ok JMOSABRES, I am in no way shape or form granting that you are correct in saying no part of his leg or hip or side or arms was down before the ball came out because it clearly was. But just for a second lets say you ARE correct, even if that is the case it was his hand with the ball hitting the ground that caused the fumble, by rule the ground cannot cause the fumble, still OSU ball.

  • well... lol you're entitled to your opinion.. My league and crew feel Im a very good and FAIR official in my position as a Referee (Umpire). As officials, we all make bad calls on occasion, and some players/fans/coaches would probably agree I've made some pretty controversial calls, as have others on my Crew. But we're NOT PERFECT.. You see something totally different in that play than I. i agree fully with the Umpire's decision !! No LEG TOUCHED THE GROUND PRIOR TO THE LOOSE BALL !!

  • Sorry,,, As a High School Football Official.. The officials were CORRECT in allowing the play to continue and awarding the ball to Washington. I'm the Umpire in my Officiating Crew and I did NOT see the knee, or any other body part hit the ground before the ball was became loose. I've been a High School Foot Ball Official for 2 yrs. THE OFFICIALS WERE CORRECT IN THE CALL.. NO REVIEW WAS NEEDED

  • Im not even a fan of either team, but how retarded are you??? Cleary the guys WHOLE LEG IS TOUCHING THE GROUND WAY BEFORE THE BALL COMES LOOSE!!!!!!!! I dont realize how you do not see this.........you dont deserve to be a ref anymore.....

  • I'm a High School Foot ball Official (Umpire) but after looking at the play... the officials made the right call.. It was Washington's Ball. OSU lost control of the ball and the player was not in the End Zone .

  • You're nuts. Knee was down, then body, then arm THEN the ball comes out. And the umpire was RIGHT THERE?!

  • Don't bet the spread on Pac 10 games. You will go crazy and pop a blood vessel in your brain!

  • Terrible call, and why the fuck didn't the coach immediately challenge that?

Bad call by refs, but more of coach's fault for not challenging

  • Can't challenge if you don't have any timeouts. OSU didn't have any timeouts left.

  • Shouldn't need to challenge. The booth should have stopped play to review. Once again, the system fails.

  • Referee Larry Farina.

  • well if they couldn't see his whole body was down and teh fact the ground can't force a fumble.......well what about the ball breaking the plain!!! Im a UW fan but that was crazy!

  • i am a HUGE Huskies fan....and that call was complete and utter bullshit... he was in there.

  • Whoever said "cheaters never prosper" missed the Washington-Arizona game this past Saturday.

God, Pac-10 officials are the worst in organized sport.

  • Even if he wasn't down (which isn't really theoretically possible) the ground caused the fumble, and by rule the ground can't cause fumbles. How the referee blew the call standing 2 yards from the play is beyond me.

  • i think the reff so that bernards knees were off the ground and said it was a fumble well that doesnt matter cuz if your hips are down your down

  • pac 10 officitiating = horable.......im a hhhuuuggggee oklahoma sooners fan and they took a win away from us a few years back

  • Your spelling = HORRIBLE. not HORABLE

  • rly

  • Im a UW fan, and while I'm not sure if it would have been a touchdown, I agree that the call was completely blown.

  • woow are thos refs seriously retarded? like wtf? and thats yvenson bernard he plays for my winnipeg blue bombers now!! hes a good solid running back that has a future in football

  • im a BIG husky fan but he was down and the ball hit the ground before he droped it

    pac 10 refs suck

  • I remember that game, I was there with the Husky marching band. That call was absolutely terrible and people were going insane. We all know that pac-10 refs suck.

  • I forgot the UW band was there. That was an intense game with Locker being out and all the fights and ejections. And then this...

  • Yea no kidding, it was pretty crazy. Right before half time we left where we were sitting so we could do the half time show, and OSU students started throwing stuff at us, garbage, cups of pop, stuff like that. Then Locker going out, that game was pretty crazy. At least none of the OSU fans started doing what Oregon regularly does...

  • How was that first stretch a fumble? that ref should be fired and have tomatoes thrown at him.

He was down, but even if the ref didn't see that, the ground is what knocked the ball out, and he had full possession when the ball hit. There's no way that was a fumble.

    Guillotine him!!!

  • One of the worst calls I've ever seen live..

  • that ref knew he was down he was just wanting his head knocked off i guess

  • He didn't score, but he was down. The ball should of remained with OSU and they should of had the next play at about the 1-foot line.

    Terrible officiating.

  • start at 0:50 knees, hip, shoulders, body, ball over goal line, what else do you need?

  • I was at this game- even when it was over I was STILL mad- honestly thats as close to a Riot at Reser as I have ever seen. I really thought those refs were going to get jumped.

  • i was at this game game and we all booed until the game was over. the refs had to be escorted out of the field. SUCH A BAD CALL. HIS WHOLE BODY WAS DOWN!!

  • Yeah, I don't think I've ever booed immediately after the clock hit 0:00 and the Beavs won. But I was booing as loud as I could at that point. The whole stadium was. I am surprised those officials got out alive!

  • That's NOTHING compared to the Sooners getting completely screwed @ the Ducks 4 years ago!!

  • I wholeheartedly agree.

  • yeah that was definitely a td but GO HUSKIES

  • definitely not a TD... it was a bad call but it should be down on the 2 or so.

  • omg i never saw this before

at least it didn't change the game result like often the pac-10 officials do

  • shits redic.

  • Think that's bad, remember how the Pac 10 refs screwed Oklahoma in the Oregon game? That ruined their whole season. I'm a Pac 10 fan but somehow we got the bottom of the barrel on refs.

  • Anywhere that is a touchdown. HIS WHOLE BODY WAS ON THE GROUND!!! LIKE 100% OF IT!!!

Glad that never happens in the Cee Eff Ell

  • What makes you think that was a touchdown? he was down before he got the ball over the plane of the goal. However, it was certainly not a fumble.

  • definitely not a TD... it was a bad call but it should be down on the 2 or so.

  • wow... that was horrible

  • alright, whether he was down or not, the fumble was still caused by the ground either way, i dont even care for the pac 10 in any way especially these 2 teams and that is just pathetic

  • shut up...Pac ten is great whatt the hell u watch gay 10 or sucky eastern conference

  • Yeah the Pac-10 officials were terrible in the UGA v Arizona State game. At a crucial point in the game (3rd and goal for Georgia at the ASU goal-line with UGA leading 24-10), ASU had 12 men on the field. And it wasn't a "he-was-running-off-right-before-the-whistle" either. ASU had 12 guys in the formation and there was no call as they stopped UGA on 3rd down. Fortunately it didn't turn the game, but it was still absurd.

  • go ducks

  • i am not associated with either school in any way and i don't even follow pac 10 football that closely, but this video makes me so angry and bitter. it's good that the beavers won, but their entire season could have been affected by that call. in college football every game means way too much for them to be lost on a blown call. i understand the human element of officiating and think it's great, but this was bad. it was clear that the ground caused the fumble and the ball passed the goal line.

  • that sucks

  • who won this game?

  • i am a husky fan and i agree that is a horrible call tack on another for the pac ten refs

  • I agrre completely dude4, I think that's a touchdown even in the NFL, because they the ground can cause a fumble, if the guy say slipped on his own two feet.

  • DOWN that was a nice run btw

  • I bet these are the same group of officials who totally screwed Oklahoma against Oregon. There was more than just this play but the onside kick where oregon touched it within ten yards and oklahoma still recovered but they gave oregon the ball with no penalty is just outragious.
