A friend of mine lent me this book. Excellent. I was unable to read the entirety but what I did--was beautiful. Personally I'm intrigued by wolves and their social and pack habits. To think it is our creation of myths that cause such creatures to be exterminated. Sure, they hunt, but for food. For their pups. Quite unlike humans who hunt for game. For a photograph. To bond. Bleh.
i am implying that that the person i responded too was/is a "teabagger". Who is "mowat"... . yes, its me destroying everthing, and again... what exactly ""IS"" the truth as concerns this vid...?
It is a tool for your teacher to indoctrinate you. Do not read it, it is nothing but lies. Learn the truth, and question why your teacher is making you read this fiction.
Teabagger? What the hell are you implying? You must be one of those Progressive Marxists who is destroying everything, including wildlife. Mowat is a lying scumbag, plain and simple.
Mowat is a lying scumbag? Do you know him personally? You are an idiot! I agree that some of the stuff in his book is hard to believe, but the man has helped remove the label of being a blood thirsty killer from the wolf. He has shown the gentle, loving and intelligent side of them. He is far from a scumbag my friend; he is the type of person who helps to save the misunderstood wildlife like the wolf from extinction due to human beings.
Youre a tool. Yeah, not very mature of me but for eff's sake, WHY must everyone jab at everything with pointed sticks? Question everything to death? Just because you're a cynic doesn't mean the rest of the world needs to be. There are small amounts of truth in everything. Even if not---there's beauty in the idea.
I really like your point of view about that subtle themes, but I like to add an other really important to me: the non verbal communication between two or more subjects, in this case wolves-person. I spend most of my time in forest with two dogs and I think I can count the words I used last month to communicate with they.
Well I am not sure if you will understand what I wrote because my english is poor, so my apologies.
Thanks for the excerpts. Seems they might have gone to the northern arctic to get the more trusting arctic wolf on film rather than the gray and black wolves of further south.
You should read, 'Of Wolves And Men' by Barry Halston Lopez. This movie affected me powerfully as well. Having spent three years in a small indian village in southeast Alaska as I was growing up, the landscape and colors were like coming home to me, but the music captured me completely.
One of my favorite movies. This movie could be made today or played at a theater today and you wouldn't know the difference, except for the ice capped lakes and mountains. This is an awesome movie and a cautionary tale. My dad introduced this to me as a child and it had a huge impact on me...helped me to follow in the footsteps of Steve Irwin(RIP)

LOL just read this for English 9. Boring to me because I am just a mere, naïve adolescent. -.- But we're apparently gonna watch the movie..?
