I want to go Vegan but my parents are BIGG meat eaters so I always end up eating meat somehow and every time I do I get sick. My dad doesn't want me to go Vegan because he's scared my iron, protein and fiber levels will get too low, and he's not too fond of "save the animals" thing that peta2.com does..... any tips?
@Cammydgaf Yessum. Those are all in vegetables. The greener the veggie, the more iron ( thats my rule for looking) You have to be mindful of keeping balance with your body. Protein isn't an issue. You'd have to be calcium deficient. There is plenty of protein in the foods, beans, shakes, protein bars, a shit ton of other foods. Research. >.> You need your reason to go Vegan and you might want to work your way up for Vegetarian to Vegan. Specially if you're struggling already.
I find that since becomming a vegan i am much more open and have a clearer mind. For those that are intrested in vegan life styles try Natural-food-earth its a free site dedicated to veganism and better mental and physical health
did you say apple sauce instead of eggs. ive been vegan for 2 mth and i havent heard that but if thats what you said if im correct ill race to the store and get some :)
@AGAVProd try vanilla soy milk if you haven't already. i'm not a big fan of plain soy milk, but vanilla (and chocolate for that matter) is really good.
one of the things on my bucket list is to be a vegetarian (successfully) for a week... and you can't have beef jerky or the beef nuggelets or whatever if youre a vegetarian
Great suggestions! As you said, you can always be really healthy by eating fresh fruit, but if we want the routine or the "comfort foods" we may be used to, that's where this video comes in to illustrate that we can have it all, just without the cruelty.
okay seriously, this is so nice. i am newly vegetarian and i was looking for informative, helpful videos and i ended up just finding ones that showed animal suffering. i dont want to be pressured into being vegetarian, i already am, i just need support and tips! this is awesome! thanks
i was going to come on here and bash you till i heard what you had to say. most vegans and vehetarians on youtube kinda bash meat eaters but you don't. you offer reasonable alternatives and besides that, you're pretty hot so thanks.
hellloo i love hummus 2 .i am a vegetarian and i think that the simpler the food the better lots of fruit and veggies ,go veg its good for u ...take care
Its sad that you didn't mention how easy hummus is to make from scratch. You seemed to focus on pre-packaged products maybe in a bid to appeal to a younger audience and meat substitutes. Many dessert mixes contain whey and milk derived ingredients if not gelatin animal products. You didn't once mention getting protein requirements was the reason to combine grains and beans. And 90% of your suggestions were not economical for someone living on a budget (i.e. not with their parents).
you know i would love to go vegan/vegetarian... actually the vegan would be better for me i am lactose intolerent and i still drink milk.,... im getting sick from it too.... :( any way back on topic... i like chicken and all the soy stuff is too expensive for a student part-time salary
actually silk soy milk now has calcium. and honey is from bees and cheese does have milk in it. Yeah same here. I could NOT give up those two things. People that do i applaud you.
because of milk production many cows are kept pregnant in order for them to give milk constantly. their kids go where? those small calves turn into veal. that goes for cheese and milk. cheese and milk equals broken legged baby cows.
also, many cows are kept in bad conditions and ive read articles about cows who are sick and drip puss from their utters when they are milked.
how do you know that? If they live, they have feelings and same damn thing as us. Humans arn't better than animals themselves, actually, now that i think of it, WE ARE ANIMALS. so...
We know, because they don't have a brain. They don't even have a nervous system. You need both to facilitate pain.
Pain is an evolutionary advantage that allows an organism to know that it's being harmed and thus remove itself from the situation. Plants cannot run away, which is another reason pain never evolved in them.
@SaganAppreciationSoc Get some science? You should 'get some science'. There is proof plants feel pain, just like you and I, except they have no way to show it. Go read the book Primary Perception by the scientist Cleve Baxter, or just do some damn homework, you'll realize how dumb you sound.
@SaganAppreciationSoc Look at you, denying everything just so you can feel good about yourself. Even if Cleve is a joke, many people have done it, just do some research for once and you'll see.
A new study done at Oxford on vegetarians and vegans just came out. The study shows that those on a vegetarian diet, besides anaemia and inflammation of the nervous system are susceptible to BRAIN SHRINKAGE. Of course this is due to the fact that they aren't getting the amounts of B12 that they're supposed to. I believe they're not getting many other nutrients as well but B12 is a major one. Check out the study yourselves, it's easy to find on the internet as it just came out this week.
Unfortunately, I am not vegetarian nor vegan, but I would very much love to be. Currently, I take small steps to prepare me for when I finally move out and can cease eating meat, like not eating marshmallows, geliton, or lunchmeat sandwitches.
Also, the most important tip that I learned from my almost vegetarian friend: take it one step at a time. Do not quit cold turkey(well, you shouldn't eat turkey, but you know what I mean). Quit one type of meat at a time.
cool i just went veg today. i will use these tips. i really do need help because i just started but thanks for doing this video it is very helpful. if u have any more tips please message me thanks
Thanks for the help!! I am starting being vegetarian... vegan is kinda difficult here in Mexico since we don't have so much options like you guys do at the States, but I'll try vegetarian first and maybe I'll go vegan later! ;)

@AGAVProd Almond Milk is delicious, or Rice Milk, or Coconut milk... I buy all of them from my local Wally-world.
Try picking out the vanilla flavored ones first.

how come most vegetarians I meet are fat, overweight, obese, with nasty hair and nails, and with sickly looking skin...
300 pound vegetarian... LOL
real healthy...
go look in the mirror fatty...your body needs certain nutrients found in meat to lose all that body fat and to stay healthy.

For an ideal middle ground between meat-eating and vegetarianism, find out about mammaltarianism, a diet that excludes most mammal-meat.
Search "Mammaltarian" on YouTube.

but what i mean is, plants dont have a brain that process thought. look at their anatomy, theres no brain to be found.

Still! not a reason to kill a vegtable!
Even if it doesn't have a brain, every living thing has a soul and has rights to live.

honey: there are ways to obtain them from cruel and harmless ways. So you just gotta watch your source on that one.
As for cheese, well, I hope you're aware how milk's obtained.
there's lots on a vegan diet anyways, in terms of choices. Meat ain't all that magical ya know? ;)
grains, fruits, nuts, rice, herbs, veggie, beans, etc etc....so many countless things. =)
