@Luckzzz - go ahead and take the drugs, Luck. It'll do you way more good than a drink or a hundred of them. There's a reason a whole genre of music comes out of the psychedelic experience.
@HardRockLover Everyone has a different feeling.. I've never used drugs (only weed, if we can call it this way), but alcohol makes me feel opened to new ideas.. The question is what you are thinking and if your vibrational field is ok.. If you think shit, shits will come to you.. (sorry for my english)
@Luckzzz Well, Psychedelic drugs makes you open the doors of perception, it helps you grasp things in a different way. Alcohol clouds your judgement, sure it makes you feel great and happy, but it still clouds your mind and kills your brain cells, that is a scientific fact.
@HardRockLover Actually it doesn't kill brain cells, it damages the neural pathways. So... in a sense, you still have the same amount of cells, they just start to lose the ability to communicate properly and thus become useless. That's scarier than losing brain cells, imo. Lol.
@IDFPleonexia The cells become useless? Or they conenct in new ways, leaving paths that already have been gone, seeking new connections, imagine a meme meeting another one that by "everyday-brain-thinking" would make no sense, but you find a treasure by giving the brain the possibility to newly explore this and dig a treasure. Fact is, usually 90% of our brain isn't used, so what do you say if what you call "losing the ability (of cells) to communicate properly" is a way to create imagination-
@AldousLeary What in the hell are you rambling on about? Do you know any alcoholics? Have you even encountered one before? There is no neural development, their creativity isn't amplified, they are cognitively slower and frequently slur their words. Long-term alcohol (ab)use dampens the brain's ability to function properly. You should really study biology before you start spouting shit about, "brain treasure unlocked by being a boozehound."
@IDFPleonexia Thought you were refering to psychedelics, not booze. the thread wasn't that clear structured like now. but you sound pretty stressed, btw have you ever heard about absinth ;-)
@IDFPleonexia Yes, you are right. But i wanted to explain it in a simple way to Luckzzz, seeing that his english is not that good. Like you said, it affects the way our neurons get their transmit signals from glutamate. And as you know, Brain cell is a generic term for the neurons and glial cells. In a simple way, alcohol is toxic, and may cause negative effects on our body and brain. Immobilizing the neoruons, making them useless.
love Lovecraft, love cheesy but inspired psychedelic music. It creates the kind of world to escape into where you don't feel like an idiot for escaping.
One Saturday in 1968 I did something I'd never done before: I walked out of the house, hitchhiked downtown, and went to a movie. The movie was 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY. Afterward I went to a local department store and bought the most "psychedelic" LP's I could find, at least by appearance: ULTIMATE SPINACH, which was awful; ORPHEUS ASCENDING, ditto; and the one this cut comes from. H. P. LOVECRAFT II is the musical equivalent of 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, even 40 years later.
Hi, i am wondering if there are any Lovecraft songs from when Lalomie Washburn took over as lead vocal with Michael Tegza on drums. I would love to hear from the " I love you whoever you are" album. Probably around 1975 or 76 era. Anyone with this info, please post. Shawn
Many a night spent with this and friends...Its all good...pass it on...

@Luckzzz Drunked ?. A alcohol buzz is the complete opposite thing to being High on Psychedelic drugs.
Alcohol makes you cloud your feelings and Psychedelic drugs make you enhance them, it makes you perceptive to so much more in life.

It's easy to see how H.P. Lovecraft may have influenced the Moody Blues.
I wonder why certain bands with similar abilities and creativity make it "big" and others don't stay on the charts or even get played anymore.
I get a lot of it has to do with 'networking' and luck, eh?

How is this cheesy?
KatanaKBP 2 years ago
Anything magical people have to call cheezy now. I guess it makes them feel more like legimate, modern humans. Kind of sad, really.
SanguineUltima 2 years ago 19
For some reason it seems people concentrate on doing new things just for changes sake. Instead of realizing the gold we have and bringing it with us.
