I remember seeing this 3 or 4 years ago when a network was playing reruns of The Nat King Cole Show. I've been looking for this for ages; Thank you so much for uploading this.
I am so impressed someone even had this show on tape! How rare is this! I didn't know Nat King Cole had a show! The production vales are not very good and do no justice to her voice yet her performance is cutting edge for that time!
From what I've seen, Nat King Cole did have a show in the 50's but it was cancelled because it didn't have a sponser, which is a shame because he was the first African American to have his own TV show
Love Eartha's character, her style, her showmanship....but vocally, this particular recording...she sounds like Alvin of "The Chipmunks" .ULTRA vibrato reminiscent of some of the worst of Josephine Baker.
Yes Josephine and Eartha were made better by menopause when a woman's voice naturally becomes lower. She still sung with the vibrato in her later years too....but it was post-catwoman so we called it "purring".
thanks for posting this so we all can enjoy Eartha doing one of her classic songs, and it IS a classic as she she still does this song in her shows, it only ones again shows the QUALITY of this Lady, GREAT

she is so opposite of Doris Day in that she was a woman who wasn't afraid to ask for what she wanted!

Whoa! A young Yzma? It does sound like Yzma, only with a higher pitch.
Still, she's a great singer.

i think the bad sound is from the recording of the show but the other version you'll find here on you tube is way better than this one
