it funny, for the "streaker" there dosent seem to be paint on the middle part connecting the legs. Believe what you might lego,

the reason for the pegs is lego is stupid and did not think ahead when they made they're first set that could connect the put pegs on one side and holes on the other so they had to put the pegs and holes like that on all the sets so they could attach
