Reminds me of when I went to the induction center at FT Hayes in Columbus, Ohio. I had enlisted (why, oh, why). As a technician drew blood I joked "I hope I don't bleed on you too much". His reply was "I don't care if you bleed to death". I realized that most of these guys (the techs) were not a "band of brothers", but disgruntled draftees who were just looking forward to their beer at the end of the day.
