Hi there, its me posting under a different username. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yak's are cool but this is more versatile in many ways. I thought about doing a single wheel trailer but this was simpler. As for the materials, it is made out of mild steel. The tongue is made from electrical conduit from home depot.
Thanks for all the comments! The trailer worked out very well but my weld on the hitch where it went under the quick release failed. I was able to cobble it back together to finish a short camping trip via bicycle with it. Right turns were no problem. We attached a plywood deck using small bolts around the frame and then bolted a big green container from walmart to it. Its a great trailer! :-)
yeah, i built mine to attach to the seat tube collar because of the right turn limitations, also has issues with heel strikes when pushing the bicycle,....................................... i also ran in to weight limitations because the axils wouldnt hold up, i tried hardend steel axils and they broke, the regular stuff you get from lowes bent.
Great job on the views! I hope you see the traier me and my dad built, (it was not cheap, frame alone was 100) It turned out great, used it for all sorts of jobs last summer. I used block bearings and solid 3/4 axel to go through cart wheels. I wish I had more pics of it or video, it is all midered and craig screwed, it's crazy! I can't believe it worked! watch?v=6Fao0mgjyHc
