  • i dislike this cuz how can u tell its that far? FAKE N GAY

  • what are some of the ballistics of this round?

  • that sir, is a very dead elk :)

  • great shooting man what kind of gun

  • @bobiscool308

The gun they use is a Remington 700 with an HS precision stock; 30 inch match barrel with an in-house break. You can buy one, and view pictures on their website. Just search "338 edge" in Google..

  • well i guess 8 peoples bb guns wont shoot this far

  • BANG! (1...2...3..4..5...6..7) tink!

  • now that's gun control. a keen eye and a steady hand! Respect!

  • Just can't argue with THAT shot! Nice job. Good to have you on the "NATURAL" Homeland Security team!

  • Dude! You need to be the new host for Future Weapons!

  • Great view of the vapor trail, almost at the top of the trees.

  • he has a website

  • i belive he is using a 338 edge. the 338 lapua will easily run a mile with a good wind dope. The 338 lapua was made to kill humans at 1500 meters, it hits harder with a 300gr smk at 1 mile then a 44 mag at muzzle. That is No FAKE, that guy can shoot. Two inched high at 1600yrds thats so close to cold bore hit its not funny.

  • Nice shooting and very nice vapor trail.

  • damn at like 1 37 u can see the buttel or at least the shock wave of the bullets route

  • you can watch the trace of the bullet thats baddass

  • nice shot...any specs on the rifle? Glass?

  • oh yeah my bad i was phased out last night lol i thought you said something along the lines it is fake coz u hear him say bingo before it hits. my bad

  • wtf you on about, you see the target get hit, then he says bingo.

  • Doing the math I figured the bullet is traveling around 1636 MPH. On land that is around MACH 2.18 (Over twice the speed of sound. Am I right on this?

  • Also when Hathcock won the Winbledom Cup in 1965 it was with a .300 win mag. The Winbledom Cup is the 1000 yard competition held each year at Camp Perry.

  • Besides the fact that the clouds don't change, only the camera recalibrates the light.

  • When I seen you were shooting at 1602 yards I had to check it out seeing my Eddystone 30-06 sights only go to 1600.

I was waiting for the wind to die down before I tried a 700 yard shot and was searching the internet for some pointers. And I have to say you know your stuff. Great shooting!

I hope to see more from you and maybe a pointer or twenty. ;)

    Again, great shooting!

  • Holy.....yeah...great shot!

  • you can see the bullet flying through the air, pretty sweet

  • yeah, this loks great

  • wow

  • I cant even beleive it.... these long distance shot vids are crazy!!!

  • lol it'd suck if the disk fell over.. gotta walk all the way over there to set it up lol

  • put it in high quality. so much better.

  • Cheese an Rice! That was awesome!

  • I've got a co-worker that owns one of these rifles. He has a nightforce scope atop the firearm. Makes my Leupolds look like tasco's. He shoots game with it at 600-900 like it is nothing. Would not believe it if I had not seen the cartridge deliver it with my own two eyes. Just don't shoot over the hood of the truck, try explaining to the wife why the acrylic on her paint has popped off and freckled from the muzzle flash.

  • shouldnt the flight time be alittle longer for that distance

  • jesus christ! nice shot

  • incredible and fantastic shot

  • damn good shot, stoned her!

  • at 1:35 you can see the bullet

  • OMG you can, incredible and fantastic shot

  • NICE, what gun is that???thnx

  • nice

  • nice shot

  • will some tell me where I can learn to shoot like this??? Other than the obvious---military

  • ballistic computer and lots of practice haha

  • hahahaha idk WHY you would need to shoot that far...nice shot seriously kudos...but if you can get closer to an animal than 1602 yds then id stop huntin...lol...nice job man

  • Awesome shot!

My best is 1200 (+/-20) meters with a 7mm RemMag on an 18"

Took me 3 shots to get the dope right but it was a 5-7 mph cross and I did a threepeat once I was dialed in.

I'm gonna try the same shot with the 6.5 Grendel if I get the chance to do the hill-to-hill thing again... yea, I know a longshot (no pun) but the Grendel is SS out to 1200 so it could be done.

That .338 edge sounds like a winner... I'll look into it!

    OSOK!

  • Not bad for a leftie... ;)

Seriously, awesome shot. To hit that on second shot only, I'm impressed.

  • I can't even hit an orange at 70 yards!

  • Bravo. That shot is not easy but he sure made it look that way. What weight bullet and what shape?

  • not sure about the wieght, but I can venture a guess as to the shape of the bullet

    pointy.... :)

  • NIce piece of shooting. The guy on the trigger makes it look easy...which it certainly isn't. Most people don't realize how much harder shots past 1k can get when wind really starts to screw with you.

  • Have you ever tried making silhouettes by laying on cardboard, drawing them with grease pencils or crayons etc. Then put old t-shirts on them and set them out at your range. You can tape or staple things to them for reflection also.

  • Thanks for the info diderr01. Now I will remember how you got that. Have a good day.

  • How far away does the target have to be, so that 1 click (1/8') will be too rough a measurement to hit the plate (i.e. you will need holdover to compensate instead of another click)

  • it's a 1/4" scope. soooo @ 1600 yards 1 click = 4 inches

  • wow the description should be good for your views

  • how many mitres is that

  • Thats crazy, you can see the vapor trail on the round. Nice shot

  • Nice shot -- what kind of scope you got on there?

  • Yes, it's the scope that makes this possible. Idiot.

  • "Yes, it's the scope that makes this possible" doesn't make sense to the question I asked. So who sounds like the idiot now...? Look for youtube fights elsewhere, cum-bucket.

  • well it would have to be a nice long range scope to be able to see it clearly dumbass

  • very good.

  • When I was 8 I would do that all day with my Daisy BB gun.

  • heh, thought i was the only freak marksman. onece i left i loaded and a robber robbed a neighbor at about 200 yards. the rifle accidentaly discharged and it hit him right up the asshole. i was sleeping while the whole thing happened.

  • LMAO!!!

  • ya think ?

  • Ever notice how a bullseye kind of looks like an asshole?

  • I don't dream of assholes all day, no....sorry..:P

  • Damn good shooting guys!! Im Impressed. Lets hope the second amendment stays alive with the next Dumbass coming in.

Good luck to anyone that trys to Invade America. There aint much 75 million rednecks with 80 million guns cant handle.

  • why is anyone going to invade america?

  • Well, nobody would... THats the Idea. Well, Mexico and China are slowly doing it, but , not with Armies.

  • haha lol

italians and the irish invaded new york thats a start ;p

  • nice tags

  • Wow, I have trouble at 950 with my .308 shooting at sihlouette targets

  • .308 is not very effective after 800 yards

  • ROTHFLAO EVERY confirmed 1000M kill the military has, has been with a .308

    Stop talking out your ass

  • .....You know the military uses .338 and .50 bmg rifles too right? And Your wrong, most kills after 1000m are .50bmg with the military. Longest confirmed kill is about 1.5 miles away with a .50

  • They also have 9mm and 12 guage slug guns too. I served 8 years active usmc and until my back was gave them an excuse to get rid of me last lear I served in the reserves where I routinely shot 1000m with the .308 at Quantico.

Dont tell me, you hack, other people may belive your crap but I've been there.

BTW .338 is a great round. Great for knocking down bears. Military work not so much.

Educate yourself so you don't look like a fool next time you talk out your ass.

  • Longer than that...

A Sniper just made a 1.53 mi shot with a .308 in Afghanistan not too long ago.

  • If your talking about Furlong, he was using the Mcmillian .50BMG. You can't accurately hit anything with a .308 at 1.53 mi, to far.

  • If you were a Marine then you know that Carlos Hathcock never used a .308 he used a 30-06. And on occasion the M2 50 BMG. So not EVERY confirmed kill has been with a .308.

  • Almost every sniper prior to the adaptation of the 7.62 NATO/.308 used a .30-06. Even during WWII they used a 30-06.

  • the Force is strong with this one.....

  • Not very when your using the scoping system he has. Simply punch it in to the calc. and you got your site mark.

  • There's still the shooter's skill in holding it at that range, too. Just try and take a little laser pointer and hold it on something smaller than a dime at about a block away, see how easy that is.

  • well, it's not that. if you have a bipod it helps you A LOT. this shot was made with great math involved. that's the biggest part. wind and elevation. then you have to correct for shooting at an angle, altitude, air pressure and the ROTATION OF THE EARTH.

  • Yeah, a bipod will help quite a bit, but it won't give you a rock-steady hold. It's not like games where you can deploy your bipod and instantly your rifle won't budge.

Don't remember, also, that wind will shift while you're shooting, and might not be consistent all the way to the target.

The easiest way to roughly compensate for angle is multiply by cosign. Altitude and air pressure are minor, and rotation of the earth is pretty insignificant, particularly since it doesn't change.

  • I dont think you understand what goes into this shot.

  • idiot

  • absolutely in credable

  • What a fucking badass.

  • Wonderful video, well made and very cool.

  • that is a 300 RUM case necked up to 338 right?

  • I believe so.

  • damn...that guys got some skill

  • I enjoyed seeing the rounds in flight. great shooting and great video.

  • I have a lot of respect for you .

  • wow

  • Top man. Excellent. Regards from across the pond. Look forward to future videos.

  • bloody nice shooting gentlemen!

  • Unbelievable Great shooting

  • its fucking sick how you can see the bullet in flight at 1:36 near the top of the screen

  • Damn!

  • Think I seen the bullet at 1:36!

  • What model rifle was he using. Thats just incredible

  • WHAT!! thats insane.... when it zooms out

  • holy shit

  • holy shit...yer shootin into the next time zone!

  • God help anyone who invades America !!!

  • when the camera zooms out at the end. daaaaaaaaamn.

  • and i thought i was good

  • only one word ''wow"

  • nice shot lefty ...

i thought i was the man hitting 600 yards with my 223.

that is just about the best shot i have seen.

  • Simply Amazing...

I'll try my whole life trying to be that good a shot and gurantee will never get it...

  • Sorry. I meant to say, that is like hitting a deer tic at 50 feet with a blow gun in a tornado! :o)

  • F.Y.I - A 12" plate @ 1602 yds subtends < 0.12 arc seconds of a field degree.

Perspective: That is equivalent to hitting a deer tick .... 1/8"^2 ..... @ 50 feet. Amazing.

I was hoping to ask one more question, if I could. What was the bullet weight?

  • 300 grains

  • What ballistics program (if any) are you using to provide firing solution? How many variables are you calculating? 338 cal? What's your muzzle velocity and ballistic coefficient?

Very admirable shooting my friend. I'm just jealous.

  • exbal on a pda, about 6 or so, yes, 2800 fps, bc is .768

  • you my friend are should be a sniper

  • And people act like a thousand yards is far, dang you are a good shot.

  • My god man that was an amazing shot.

  • Good God. 1,600 yards. Wow.

My hat is off my head right now. Tipped in your direction.

  • what camera u got

  • I have a cannon FS100

  • holy motherfuck that is far.

  • Beautiful vapor trail. You should have another camera up at the target showing impact. That'd be sweet.

  • in the end that looks sorta like a barret! nice shot tho

  • Helluva shot!

  • cool seeing the heat trail of the bullet

  • awesome shot, i like where the camera is positioned as well. Thanks for the upload.

  • What was the rifle?

  • a custom remington 700 chambered in 338 edge

  • Hey! Any chance of you teaching me the math behind your shot? :)

  • really nice shot body!!!

  • Still blows my mind how that Canadian got the ~2500 yard kill

  • pure excellence

  • Just to show u how bad a bullet drops at that distance, u can actually see the air outline of the bullet as it travels... very nice shot

  • Wow. That's just a hair under 1 mile.

  • Good shot man. That shot was towards the 50. bmg limit even for snipers if i'm correct.

  • Whats a good reminton 700 model thats good for hunting moose/deer?

  • That is amazing!!! What do you have for gun/ scope setup?

  • custom remington 700 chambered in 338 edge w/ nightforce scope.

  • Do you guys use a hand held ballistic calculator?

  • yes, a pda w/ exbal

  • wich bullet did you use? is that a wild cat round? whats the parent casing? is 1600 yards still a supersonic range for that load?

  • 300 grn sierra match king, yes, 300 rum, yes

  • how does that round compare to .338 LM? how does the match king compare to, say scenar or lock base? what kind of muzzle velocities were you getting?

  • it is very close to a LM, most people shoot match kings because they shoot better, and are easier to find, it is about 2850 fps w/ a 300 grn smk.

  • What gun do you use?

  • How do you learn to shoot like that?

  • My guess? Practice.... and lots of it.

The only way you get good at anything.

  • damn. theres a marine for ya. makes me jelous

  • amazing.

  • He must be a Marine.

  • BS! That was only 1601 yards! Amazing shot. 5 stars

  • That's a real "Money Shot". Awesome!

  • Great Shot - congratulations!

  • holy shit!!!

  • Very nice... but what is all the bullshit in the description?

  • Great Shot, Very nice!

  • Impressive

  • Fantastic shooting

  • what scope you got on that?

  • A nightforce. I don't know for sure what power though.

  • love seeing the bullets "wake" through the air on any gun, seeing it curve/ark up then down to the target, sweet.

  • .17HMR would never have a chance at a shot like that.

  • 338 Lapua IS NOT more powerful then a 338 EDGE. Where do you come up with that?? In same length barrels they are virtually IDENTICAL in velocity. It would depend on the individual rifle, twist, groove, throat, barrel etc...

The only thing the 338 LAPUA has on the EDGE is Lapua brass. At $1.65 a piece though, they can have it...As you can see, Shawn shoots just fine with the Rem brass for the EDGE, and so do about 100 other customers of his, including myself.

  • When was the last time YOU shot a deer at OVER A MILE ??

Keep yappin! Hardly anyone can even hold still enough to make a shot within a few feet at this range, and this guy was on it!

  • i can throw a rock and still miss it! lol
