No offense, but Mr. Slimane did not change menswear at any time in his career. He has a niche for a certain type of customer whose needs may not have been addressed by previous menswear designers, but, that's about it, whereas Armani, Klein & Lauren did more, overall, in changing the way men, as a whole dressed, latterly w/ Lauren's Purpule Label's copying of Savile Row & Italian tailoring inspiring more & more men to go for real bespoke, as opposed to RTW.

I think you're underestimating Slimane's youth culture influence. Even though most high fashion menswear lines have moved further and further from the tightly fitted trouser since 2008, a broad spectrum of teenagers still favor the style. Slimane may not have changed menswear for most grown men, but he definitely did change what teenagers are wearing.

@onehandedlibertine I agree with you completely. Bespoke tailoring, while an important part of menswear and fashion, is nearly useless for the thin 20-something. Is Ferrari meaningless because most people drive sedans? Just because your average person does not drive an exotic car, does not exclude them from being important. Bespoke is the Mercedes S-class, luxurious and elegant, Slimane is the Ferrari, striking and beautiful. Both great options, but simply of differing taste and practicality.
