You can use a vise grip to hold the blade instead of the rag. I recommend using a box, or socket wrench on the blade nut instead of the adjustable wrench which can round the nut.
@farrellhunter My skilsaw has no lock... which is dumb but you can't blame the dude. Why did I pick a saw with no lock, it was a handmedown so I can't say. Assmunch
Also, it is a very bad practice to unplug something by pulling on the cord.
