was'nt the fire box suppose to go on the other side of the grill to keep the wheels fully functionable and easier to transport since they added a metal handle to the firebox itself..
@spaestp no actually it works out just fine because it add more weight to the end with the wheels so it balance it out real good. But the handle on the fire box is useless unless you loading it onto a truck or something but during cooking you cant touch it unless you want a cooked hand...lol. the side with the side burner you have to be carefull cause it do bend alot.
Nice grill and just wondering but can you cook steaks, hamburgers, hot dogs......etc on a grill like this? or is it to much of a pain? Or is it mainly made for slow cooking?? Thanks
@tmead16 The coals can go rite under the meat as well as in the smokebox. and theres a grill in the smokebox as well, it is usually just in the way of messin with the fire. CHARGRILLER RULES!!!
THIS GRILL IS KINDA DIFFICULT TO KEEP THE HEAT UP BUT WITH SOME MODS IT WILL WORK YOU JUST HAVE TO PUT ALOT OF WOOD OR COAL IN IT TO GET THE JOB DONE.
I had almost the same setup but mine leaked like a silve... I couldn't control the heat to save my life. VERY wasteful, these grills. NOT worth the money. I even put foil to seal things but never got it to seal... I hated the thing and sold it later. couldn't believe someone would buy it but what the hell....
Great video. I like this guys spirit. This is what YouTube is all about. I barbeque and I have some videos on my channel on this same subject . I have a Chargriller offset smoker that I modified. Check it out. Thanks for the great video.
ok, I'm looking for a new grill and I was going to buy a custom one but for my current home it would be too big and too heavy so I guess I'll go retain again.
I think I"m going to get a Char grillier. I used a Brinkman for about 10 yrs and its had it LOL
If I can suggest, add two grill level thermometers. I have the same unit and the stock temp gauge is normally off at least 20 degrees to grill level. I have seen a 50 degree diff! You can buy 2 from ebay for 20 bucks shipped.
But those ribs look great! And great job teaching the son right!
Wow, that meat looks good. I've had my Char-Griller Pro for about a year now, and I love it. It sure appears that you aren't a beginnner to smoking meat, sir.
Oh, and by the way, your son looks great. If you teach him to cook the way you do, he'll be a chip off the old block. Watching this video made me hungry, I'm firing mine up first thing tomorrow (ahh, baby back ribs....... :-) )
Awesome man. I just bought an outlaw Char griller. I cant wait till my son is older and i can show my son how to grille. Must be a great feeling. Dang those ribs look good. I have been reading here about possible modifications to them to make them cook better. Have you done any of these?
YOU GOT A BETTER ONE THEN SHOW IT!!!
