@Seattlecarnut Hey, Jason! Indeed, horizontally placed headlamps accentuate the horizontal line of the front end...one that matches accentuating wide track, as they referred to their full sized Catalinas and Bonnevilles. Thanks! :) Jack
@JesseAndMike Hey, guys! This color was fairly popular at the time...I think fading could have been a problem then..but with modern paint and clearcoat, I think those worries are no more. I agree about the leg room up front...these cars were fairly big! Thanks! :) Jack
Jack, Great color - 'Tiger Gold" appropriately. The 6.5 Litre engine is Pontiac's venerable 389. This car has either 335 HP (4 BBL) or 360 (Tri Power). My information is that the GTO became it's own model in 1966, '65 was still an option package on the LeMans. Pontiac Sales Manager Frank Bridge was not a supporter of the original GTO concept, and would only sign off on 5,000 unit production forecast for 1964, 10,000 were sold before January 1964, 32,000+ for the year. 75,000 1965's found a home.
@jferg7159 Hi, Joe! Ah, I was confused as to the first year as its own model. The fact the sales manager was not a fan evidently just showed how much out of touch he was with the car culture of the day! And he was in charge of sales! Amazing!
@drewerz01 Hey, Mike! It sure is the godfather! Glad to be posting again...I just have to be careful about license plates..and of course music! I think a voice over may be the only solution. Thanks! : Jack
@jammer96 Hey, Chris! I would agree with that figure for this car....there is just something very special about a perfect GTO..no one else can copy! Thanks! :) Jack
Nice car. I've always preferred the 65 over the 66 and later Pontiacs with vertical headlamps.

Great looking GTO Jack! Classic Muscle like that is pricey though. That's about a 30k-40k car.
