im a 2* l/cpl in C company,devon acf,just watched the video and i miss that camp.We used to use that camp for weekends but the MOD got rid of it and may be building on it :( we now use a battle camp in okehampton which is no way nere as good as fremington camp.
Great to see this again. I did my basic training at Fremington in 1979. I just read that the camp closed in 2009 so this would have been at the very end - although it looked very similar to the way it was when I was there!
The strange thing is that it is so close to the sea and yet I never realised! I had hoped to go back one day, unfortunately that won't happen now!
not sure what i am but were in the northeast(tyne) from boldon. our segeant was shown up by me last year. last year was my first annual and nearly all of the cos and ncos we passed said i was showing the segeant up XD. best part for me was trying to neck a bottle of tabasco and one of us going to naffy shop and getting a rank slide so we got to stay up later. lol its hard to think we have to set the example as a company
Im an ex cadet from b coy, cadets made me the man i am today, if you want to join the regular do not let anything get in your way, im now nearly 30 years old and really regret not joining the regular army just do it!!! if only for minimum service. Otherwise you will always wonder what you missed out on. x cdt/sgt and lord leautenant cadet.
im an ex cadet, left in january, my last camp ever on fremington and i have to say its been the best time of my life, its a shame i left, but im thinking on going back. femington was a brillient camp, i cant think of a single bad memory i have on that camp only great ones, it been torn down now :( great video, i was from devon acf a coy :) they are an amazing bunch of people:) x
