I absolutely love this show and Matt. I felt bad when i heard he felt dumb when he figured out the truth. I mean how in the hell could he have known ... this was the first reality show they did like that. So Matt if you are reading.... i konw its late but dont feel bad. You deserved to win! Everyone loves you.
He blew the majority of his money in Los Angeles on marijuana and booze. Because of that, he broke up with his live-in girlfriend at the time. Then he moved back home and as of 2008, he's married with two children and working for a logistics company.
@Y2p731 yea dude i saw the joe schmo show today in spike and in the aftermath i could tell he felt sorta dumb and i would have felt completely cheated becuz it was all entirely fake, like i woulda felt like i dont really know u people, like those feelings he had for the blonde chick, hopes for a friendship and the feeling of the show came crashing down in a second. Even though the end was cheery i bet when he got back home he wouldve felt like wtf? those people never cared about me...continued
@535manbearpig I would think the opposite was true. what it was is that the actors and producers actually did feel bad about what they were doing, they thought it was just be something fun to do, not realizing just how emotionally and psychologically hurtful certain situations might be for their 'star'. i'm sure many of the actors involved truly felt a kinship with Matt during the show and felt bad about having to lie about what was really going on. that much was evident during the show.
@madammelva sure ok but still that feeling of being the only one sucks. Then he never met the real people so again so what if they feel bad they still played him for a fool
@535manbearpig I'm sure once the final reveal was done all of the cast members probably spent some real time with Matt, so he would have the chance to get to know who they really are, probably over a real dinner, maybe over some drinks or something. I know that Brian (the Buddy), even though he was an actor, he did try to tell Matt that basically everything he did tell Matt during about himself and his life during their time on the show was the truth.
@Y2p731 like i was saying he would've felt like these guys were payed actors who he never built a relationship with and when he does look back at the "experiences" they never really happened. I dont know, i would have felt dumb and sad, no wonder he went on to smoke pot and get boozed. Its like those people that u had that "crazy" experience with never existed at all.
wow apart from the topic discussed and the guest , this episode of this show is pretty awesome , host is great , callers are great .good stuff.

this is a very intelligent debate and discussion regarding reality television, possibly the most intelligent discussion I've ever seen.
