the american actor in question is eric roberts, who was in the american produced tv movie aimed at americans, being a pilot for a new american version of the show (which no one picked up on understandably, as the TV movie wasn't that great)

Did you ever start watching Doctor Who? That show is epic and fantastic beyond words. Unfortunately the new doctor is not Patterson Joseph, it's Matt Smith. He's a little young for my tastes and his hair is awful. David Tennant was AMAZING, and Christopher Eccelston before him was epic, and #4 Tom Baker was the quintessential Doctor. The show is so good Buck, you have to watch it. Start on season one of the new series so you can get some yummy John Barrowman as Captain Jack!
