@Yahwehsninja i will be getting be getting the quad core 15" macbook pro with 1gb graphics and that will run games tons better, it also has hi-res screen at 1680x1050. it supposed to be good as last gen imac graphics and processor which my friend has and that can run crysis 2 on like medium at 1920x1080 and medium on that game looks awesome
There is a way around 4:3 screen. I got a 24imac connected to my tv i play the game on tv bigger screen :D. But if i Mirror the screen so having the game on both screens and put the res of the game to max it strech the game without loosing quality.
try it worked for me also with nfs most wanted cider port
It is being played full screen. However, the mac version only has a select number of resolutions to play in, none of which are in the correct aspect ratio for the 24" iMac screen.
were you playing the game on maxed settings cause i hear alot of people say you need a 512mb video card to play nfs carbon on maxed settings. plz reply
i have a white 24`` iMac and carbon just have 4:3 resolutions. if you have leopard then the game is being stretched automatically. but it`s still a 4:3 res and there aren`t any 16:10 resolutions (1920*1200). there are just 640*480, 800*600, 1024*768 and 1280*1024 options. on tiger you can see the black bars
Nice vid, it seems that this Mac version of Need For Speed Carbon runs pretty well on your iMac. I've got an iMac 20" 2,4 GHz, 256 VRAM, but this game sucks (still running Tiger btw). I don't get FPS higher than 30 FPS, even on low settings, that really odd...
ohh, ok, lol, i wonder what Windows fanboys will think about your video in which you show your iMac running Crysis at good frames per second and the fact that your running it with only 2GB of RAM and 256MB of VRAM, which is something impossible to do on a PC :)
I have the exact smae Imac as you, and a couple of weeks ago i've bought NFS Carbon legal. But I can't install the game. It works on my brothers mac pro, but not on my imac. Can you tell mee (in details) how you've installed it. Have you used programmes, downloaded things or something.
Go to "About This Mac". If what you see lower than any of these:
Mac OS X v10.4.9 or later 1.83GHz or faster Intel Core Duo processor (Game will not run on a PowerPC G3, G4, or G5-based system) 1GB RAM 6GB free hard-disk space Video card: ATI X1600 series or later; NVIDIA GeForce 7300 or later
It won't work. Especially look out for the PowerPC one; Even if you have a G5 that is faster than an Intel (In GHz), It ain't gonna run.

Very much! I can't fault it. Defiantly the best computer I've owned, it can do everything and OS X makes multi-tasking a doddle! I find myself being a lot more productive with it. Oh, and did I mention how sexy it is?
Mine arrives next week thanks to a small email to steve jobs (had a problem with my order because the lady on the phone didn't process my order so I had to deal with apple support for an hour +) so they called me yesterday and bumped the shipping!

why do you put native on the title of the games, on an Intel mac you can run Windows 100% natively (i know this is the OS X version of Carbon btw)
MacOSXrulez 3 years ago
What I mean is that the game is running on a Mac's Native operating system, which really is OS X.
